Just seen our starting 11 and I'm really concerned. Our back 4 are extremely average and the midfield 3 look toothless and one dimensional! I may be wrong but fear another Everton performance coming on.

Personally I'm hoping Hojberg does go to Everton. I can't see what he offers us? He isn't a midfield destroyer type, nor a playmaker so what is all the fuss about? He hasn't played for Southampton for a while and their results have improved and all his stats suggest he really doesn't contribute a great deal, no more than Winks for example? Any thoughts?

I’d rather see us fix the defense. full backs/ wing backs of the required quality are in short supply in our squad. Center back positions are thin on consistent quality also with Jan expected to leave and with Toby aging.

When United brought Bruno Fernandes in Jan they were in a worse position than us! Penny pinching Levy had the chance to sign him but wouldn't pay that little bit extra to get the deal through. Now look at the difference in the 2 clubs. They can go 3rd today and we can drop into the bottom half! Our football is dull, turgid, boring, devoid of any spark, United have transformed from all over the place to a team that is great to watch.

I'm not saying we would be world beaters if we had got the deal over the line but it shows for the umpteenth time how Levy and his penny pinching is killing any chance of us actually achieving anything! He has served us well but now is stifling us and sending us in a direction which will leave us losing the few good players we have and another 10+ years of achieving nothing! With a little more investment Poch would still be in charge and we would be comfortably in the top 3 for some time to come. I've backed Levy for years but he has blown it completely in the last 18 months. Sell up before it's too late!

I don’t imagine things getting any better any time soon.

The cash flow crunch must be considerable with the new stadium financing, lack of attendance at games, no CL next season - potentially no Europa Cup income and a reduction in Premier League “prize” money.

I’d imagine the number crunchers are working overtime trying to keep the club solvent. A perfect storm unfortunately.

If we were to sell Adebeyor, Soldado, Lennon, and Chiriches, we would have squad space and with all the other sales nearly enough to buy Berahino, Bolasie, Sissoko and Austin, just saying! That would make me actually optimistic too!

Last 2 home ganes 4 points dropped with the last kick in each game. Why do we stop playing when the attacking is working? Its negative and we are nowhere near good enough defensively to just sit back and suck up pressure, oh and Sanchez has always been poor on the ball but defensively he has been all over the place recently!

1.) 18 Oct 2020 20:15:58
Bang on wheels, why stop attacking when it's working as we can't defend for toffee, I think Sanchez was on the Colombian marching powder in a seedy west London club last night as we like a headless chicken today.

2.) 19 Oct 2020 13:43:13
I've said it from day one, Sanchez is a liberty.

Winks - Two bob. Lightweight, cannot and never will boss a game not at premiership level that's for sure.!

I also thought Loris went with the wrong hand / arm for the equalizer. Left arm he'd have saved that.
I'm really not convinced in why keepers do that.

It never happened in the 80's and 90's.

3.) 19 Oct 2020 18:43:55
Well other than David Seaman from Gazza's free kick in the semi final!

4.) 19 Oct 2020 20:08:09
Lets hope this new welsh centre half is as good as they say down in Swansea and he can replace Sanchez.

04 Oct 2020 19:40:58
No need to get the 5 Star CD in the Subaru tonight Raver, United weren't even that good!
We went there without LoCelso Bergwjin Vinicius, and Bale so going forward we are looking good. A proper Centre half that doesn't dive in and is good on the ball would be the icing on a whole carton of Mr Kiplings!

1.) 04 Oct 2020 20:32:47
I've got to put a bit of Manchester on the sounds system, I'm cruising into London with the stone roses and will put a bit of simply red on later in night nurse when Mrs raver gives me a rub down😍.

I wonder how that Macabbi striker feels about his comments last week now? I'm not sure how many Dxxks Harry Kane has sucked, but probably nowhere near as many as that guy will have to when he gets back!

Back to football and what could have been a tricky tie was over in 2 mins, Raver has probably polished off a whole box of his favourite Mr Kiplings tonight!

Now let's see if we can actually perform in a game that means something sunday, or will we go missing once again when it matters?

mwheels

1.) 02 Oct 2020 00:03:27
Yeah played well but against a pub team. Big test on Sunday.

2.) 02 Oct 2020 09:52:14
The mr Kipling cakes will come out on Sunday if we beat Manchester utd mv, I was more of a pepporami bloke last night with Mrs raver a right Animal😁.

We can moan about the penalty decision as much as we like, but the bottom line is we only have ourselves to blame. Our finishing was awful, Kane fluffed 3 and Dier was just embarrassing to miss in such a manor!
Apart from 45 mins when Southampton went into meltdown, we have been a shambles so far this year.
On aother note it wasnt even a free kick in the 1st place if we want to moan. he gave the ball away and ran into a stationary Horberg, but we all knew the inevitable equaliser was on its way!

mwheels

1.) 28 Sep 2020 09:55:36
Fully agree with you MV its going to be another frustrating season for us fans, I even said when the match on that Newcastle would equalise due to a error by Davies or Dier and I was right as usual.

22 Sep 2020 21:31:25
Best night for us in a long time, kept a clean sheet, no new injuries or fitness concerns, Sanchez didn't give the ball away once and Winks didn't once play the ball sideways or backwards! Nobody put a foot wrong, up the Spurs! 🤦‍♂️.

mwheels

{Ed047's Note - love it!🤣

1.) 23 Sep 2020 10:32:57
The fixtures are ridiculous. The fact that EFL teams don't have to test for C.V. is unbelievable, if spurs hadn't paid for their tests it could have closed down the Premiership.

No way should it be rescheduled unless all our other matches in this cup are also rescheduled. Pretty sure we have the next round next week!

Yes I get all that Guvnor, but why do we always continue to turn the screw for so long? I am glad we have a solid base and are a properly run club, for which Levy is to be congratulated, but haggling over a couple of mil until the 11th hour when you are talking about a 50 mil plus player makes me think he isn't that interested in the player and will end up with the usual club statement come the 9th, we tried our best but it wasnt possible etc.
On the other hand if we do get it over the line it will have been so dragged out that he probably won't be ready for selection until september. I just would have loved a year where we buy whoever our genuine realistic targets are early in the window so they can prepare and be ready for gameweek one, not gameweek 4. Perhaps I live in a fantasy world!

I am sick to death of us leaving transfers until the 11th hour and then missing out. It stinks of Levy penny pinching again, even if we get Lo Celso he won't be ready for the 1st few games as he will need time to settle in.
Currently from our tiny squad from last year we have got rid of many more than we have added and the contract situation of the ones we have are nearly terminal in some cases, why leave it to drag so long. If they are showing no signs of extending contracts just move them on for the best price you can actually get and stop pissing about for the sake of a few mil and get the players you actually know are available and you want, is it really that complicated?
Im guessing Levy is now planning on signing Sessegnon in jan on a tribunal to save another few mil, risky business!

{Ed002's Note - Embarrassing.}

I think the reason you finished below us was because again you got less points than us! Your arguements are always based on ifs, well here is one for you Oddbod, IF my Auntie had balls she would be my Uncle!

I can't see us buying a replacement any time soon. It will mean more minutes for Skipp this season so we may see a bit more of him and what he is made of, he seems to have great potential.

The one thing we desperately need is a CM that can go past a player which then opens up space for the front 3. This is what Dembele has been brilliant at. When he goes past one or two and then gives it we create so much more. We need to have that as in my eyes Dier Wanyama, Winks and Skipp are really all competing for the same posistion and currently Sissoko is the only one for the other CM spot if Dembele goes.

I really like Sissoko in terms of speed stamina work rate and dribbling but technically he isn't good enough and has little to no end product. He does a lung busting 40 yard run, goes past 3 and then misses a 5 yard square pass!

I would also like to add that Dembele has been my favourite player to watch live for the last 3 years and he has completely bossed many of the games I've been to. The guy has such strength and technique, made it look so easy at times, and I will miss him!

Don't agree with that at all BigBubs. Lo Celso creates very little from open play in all honesty. Takes a good set piece but if you look at his numbers he has few assits and in front of goal he is shocking, carries next to no goal threat whatsoever. He is so left footed and he often seems unable to kick a ball further than a few metres when he gets an opportunity.
I like him as a player but Ndombele has the potential to absolutely run games, and it looks like we are starting to get a tune out of him, I bloody hope we are, we paid enough for it!

Yes but some of the players behind them are bang average so that will level us off a bit!

mwheels

{Ed047's Note - I think a solid CB would be good MW and maybe play Dier as DM where he started and looked so good.

Definitely need to get more out of Ndombele too.
