Would anyone want Malky Mackay as manager if he were to be fired by Cardiff?

antboy18

1.) He seems to be a good manager, he brought well in the summer I think that Medel was a bargain considering his form in la liga. I don't think he is for us though, not yet anyway. Depending on the next few results I think Sherwood will be the next manager.

Simmo mentioned Simeone, he would up there for me too.

2.) Maybe I'm missing something here but I don't think Sherwood is qualified or done his badges. I may be wrong

{Ed007's Note - Sherwood has done his UEFA A and B badges. You need a Pro-Licence (the next and final level) to manage a football club in the top level on a permanent basis or more than 12 weeks - that's the time limit an unqualified caretaker manager is allowed to take control.}

3.) Ed007, does that mean that Sherwood could only take control until March then? Is there a minimum time it would take to get the pro license? Is he technically the Manager though? Levy wants or likes a head coach with the sporting director obviously being Baldini.

{Ed007's Note - The rule includes both manager and head coach roles so it doesn't make much difference what his job title is. The qualification takes a year to complete and consists of a minimum of 240 hours, 90 hours of that must be practical.
Clubs can appeal to allow their manager an extension to work while he does the course (Paul Ince at Blackburn and Avram Grant at Chelsea are a couple of examples). The bonus for someone like Sherwood who would be coaching nearly every day anyway is he will complete a lot more hours than the 240 required.}

4.) Thanks ed.

Ok so assuming we get erikson and lamela and lose bale, what on Earth will our team be. Defence will be Lloris, Rose, Walker, Vert + Kaboul/Dawson, but from then on, I haven't got a clue! Maybe

Sandro Paulinho
Chadli Erikson Lamela
Soldado

But then what about Capoue and Dembele! And I'm sure siggy and lennon won't want to be on the bench.

One things for sure - we're going to have a lot of depth this season!

According to tv sport Real Madrid have finally put in an official bid for Bale

a) 100 million euros (about £85 million) over 3/4 years

b) £70 million, one off payment right now, with the possibility of a player coming with

My personal preference would be the £70 million with Coentrao coming the other way - what do you guys think?

antboy18

1.) From previous sites I've read, it seems coentrao doesn't want to be part of the deal. Like Wiilian if players don't want to come to us then we move on. I would like the Steua centre half, Roma winger. Then I think we'll still be challenging for top 4. Although I do expect the to make 2 class signings before the window closes. Liverpool looked better last week than they were last year.

2.) 70mil + Coentrao

3.) RM offers? I think it will be on our terms.

4.) Got to be money + player time to show us this "special" relationship Madrid we've done our bit yet again

5.) It isn't £70 million, it is closer to £65 million and one off payment means spread over this season - final payment in May 14.

6.) The "special" relationship requires any player in the package to actually want to join us.

7.) If the player don't want to come to us there nothing we can do only move on coentrao be class to be part the deal but its looking unlikely, if we get the romanian defender and lamela and maybe one more surprise before end of window i'd be more then happy

I know this is a crazy theory, but I have a feeling that perhaps AVB and Levy have decided that this if Spurs have any chance of winning the league in the next few seasons, this is the season in which to do it.

There have been big managerial changes at Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea, whilst Arsenal aren't the force they used to be and Liverpool are still rebuilding their squad.

I'm not saying that I think spurs will win the league, but with the squad we're assembling, we should at least be able to put up a fight. I feel like if we were to keep Bale, it would be a real sign of intent.

Just an opinion, but I'd be interested to see who agrees {Ed008's Note - Here's my theory behind it I think Levy and AVB expected top 4 last year and then they would make the step up for challenging for the title this season no top 4 this year has led to Bale's departure and I'm sure he would have stayed he's possibly leaving and all these quality players are being signed to make that challenge on the title. Spurs were in contention for the Premiership I think about December/January then injury occurred then it became challenging the 3rd/4th position I think they have a very good chance a midfield 3 of Sandro,Dembele and Paulinho is one of the best in the league.

antboy18

1.) My 2 concerns currently are backup to Soldado and our back line. City look stronger than us at the back, though i'd take Lloris over Hart, and up front they have better options to cover Aguero. Our midfield is at least the equal of theirs if not better on paper.

2.) Correct me if i'm wrong edds, but can't willian play up as a striker? would he be seen as the starting attacking mid/striker cover. {Ed008's Note - All across the attacking 3 and can play upfront..

3.) That's the thing with avb.he likes players who can play in different positions so the team is versatile.
hence, our attacking options don't rely on only soldado.
b/s

4.) Will take a little while for this team to gel but AVB also likes to bring people in slowly, we need to grind out some results whilst the team gel.
I'm hoping capoue starts with paulinho and dembele this weekend think sandro isn't quite there yet but would really like to see those three, give paulinho more freedom and let him be used for what he was bought for, and also push up dembele who I think will be more effective further forward, we will soon see though.

5.) I think this is a big push to get the players in before money splashed out on the stadium no more spending in the next couple of transfer windows unless were very successful

Wembley would be really cool, but say we were able to get over 60000 each week, then it would make our new stadium feel a bit too small.

That's probably because we're playing with a proper left back rather than Rose being a great player - that being said I personally think Rose is alright
