I come here with optimism coupled with slight concern. I have a few points to address.

Soldado:

I genuinely feel Soldado is a quality finisher and once we find out best system and best starting 11 he will show us that. I also like his attitude, I recently watched an interview on the spurs website and he seems a very good professional with a good attitude and desperate to do well here. His record speaks volumes and I am confident once the system and personnel has been figured out he ill shine.

Paulinho:

I have said this since day 1 and continue to believe this. Paulinho is not the that good, do not be fooled by his exotic name, his price tag or the fact he is Brazilian. His first touch is awful, he looks edgy on the ball, doesn't grab the game by the scruff of its neck. All these things that a 17m pound player should do. I feel for that money e could have bought a player tice as good as he is. I don't think he offers anything to the team, which leads me on to the my next point.

Dembele:

I am a massive fan of Dembele and I fear he may leave in January if recent speculation is correct. He has been quiet this season but I feel that's because he hasn't been starting-which I feel is unfair as he was a mina player for us last season and hen he didn't play e suffered. He has been replaced with Pualinho who in which is nowhere near as good as him! Letting Dembele would be a real loss as I feel he can play the Paulinho role better than Paulinho and the Holtby role better than Holtby.

Eriksen:

I accept Eriksen has drifted a wee bit but he is miles better than Holtby. I admire Holtbys effort and passion but he's a peg under Erisken

Lamela:

Needs to be in the team soon. The wide position has been controversial with AVB's choice for inverted wingers as opposed to traditional wingers. However, I feel he changes it depending on the nature of the oppositions back 4. Lamela gives the option to play left or right and I feel hen he has settled he will be a big player for us. Possibly by replacing Townsend (who I like) but he lacks the intelligence once he gets into a good position to play a final ball so instead he shoots and the attack ends. i'm still not sure on Chadli, however I feel Lennon and Siggurdson are players of value to the team.

This being said my preffered team on a weekly basis would be:

Lloris

Walker Dawson Vert Walker
Dembele Sandro
Lamela Eriksen Siggurdson
Soldado

However, I feel against city he should replace the injured Eriksen with Dembele.

There is still a question mark over Dawson after Ciriches showing he is a quality signing but for the time being I would stick with Dawson.

Thoughts?

Some good points there, walker left and right back lol?
My view, until a new LB is bought, is Verts LB and kabs and Chiriches CB's.
Also, I would play 2 of paulinho/sandro/cappoue as defence mids.
Holtby and erikson behind lamela who is free rolling behind soldado.
So a 4/2/2/1/1 formation.
Just my opinion though. I think this is where our goals might start happening.
That leaves Defoe, ade, Siggs, Lennon, chadli, one of the DM's and Dawson as cover

And I also forgot dembele and Townsend also as cover.

3.) 19 Nov 2013
Rose at left back when fit**** I do feel that Dembele needs to be in the team somewhere. even if that's means as a holding midfielder

4.) 19 Nov 2013
Dembele can't play holding midfielder, too attack minded! Wouldn't play Siggy or Dawson, better first team choices!

5.) 19 Nov 2013
I agree with Coymfs! That team would give us what we need, but no way would AVB play it!

6.) 19 Nov 2013
Agreed davo, so which manager would play this formation for us?
(Not that I feel a manager change is needed just yet)
My team, if given a run of games, could be our future for seasons to come, dependant on soldado' age and form.
It's not been played yet but I feel erikson and holtby can play together in front of a DM 2.

I also think that AVB is not brave enough to drop Townsend because of his England form regardless of how he is playing for us. Funny how for us it is shoot on sight. Very bale'esq I think.

8.) 19 Nov 2013
I agree Dembele is more attacking but I still feel he offers more than Paulinho even in a defensive role! The 4-2-2-1 idea does seem interesting but I dunno if that would make us even narrower than we ready are

There isn't an English manager worth having I don't think! We don't seem to produce forward thinking managers, or players come to that! I know it's a bit early but Poyet could be good! At the moment I think we have a good one, but he needs to throw off the shackles and quickly, and don't be scared about making important decisions .
