I thought we were past same old Tottenham but its still there. Palace are on a terrible run yet they turn up at the lane and win. Some people will say that is the cup for you but for me that is Tottenham for you. It would not surprise me if Fiorentina will knock us out on Thursday either. The only plus is we now play a few less games so let's go full out and win the league.

Thursday night hangover persists for whatever reason even with player rotation.

Sorry but what has happened to Bentaleb . Looks a fraction of the player he was! Also, nice to see walker back to his old self!

Being knocked out of a cup means just that and nothing else. Its a one off gamee and that's all it is. The problem comes when it affects your league form. You can't recover from a cup game, its over, in the league thsts different.

The game between us will tell us all we both need to know about both sides, not just the result because you can play brilliant and lose to an odd goal and vice versa but how both managers approach the game and the performance they can get from their team for what is by some distance the biggest NLD for many many years will be a big indicator to both sides potential and limitations.

Yeah the NLD is bigger than normal this season, especially with the timing.

But I think the potential upside with MoPo is the future, the upside with Wenger has likely been and gone after this season, if he doesn't win you the title this year it isn't happening while he remains there.

I don't enjoy spurs losing but I ain't bothered in the slightest losing today. It's the Premiership I want.

Rayray I never understand people who say that, I don't like losing friendlies.

I agree Steve - we play the games to win other wise why bother.

Ive been on the terraces at Wembley and WHL and seen our team win trophies, there is no better feeling.

It's obvious why, we have a great chance to win the league. The f. a cup ain't that great anymore and is not worth risking injuries to. If Pochettino wanted that much he would of put out a stronger team.

The fa cup ain't that great anymore! Wow if you were real madrid or barcelona I might have some support for that but i'm sorry it is the second biggest cup in England and winning it is far far better than not. don't come up with that red herring about not bothered because it will help us win the league. With all due respect spurs can't yet afford to be that choosey. If you do manage to win the league, great job done, if not you will end up with null trophies. Got to be better to have one than none and all teams with aspirations, want to be in every competition as long as they can.

Ray ray, can't believe you said that! Al games are worth winning or why bother playing? Yes Ponch played a weaker team but that's rotation! I would rather he gave Carter Vickers a game than moved Dier back, but once again Vorm made a basic mistake . No way should he have been beat by that shot at the near post! We have a great strength in depth except for CF AND GK .

I would personally prefered to stay in the f. a cup than progress on the Europa because long term would help us a lot in the league ie no silly 5000 mile trips midweek! Europe means more to foreign coaches than winning the best domestic cup.

Spurs are being 'choosey' though by picking a weakened team. It would be nice to win a cup yes but now we're in contention for the league that takes priority. Arsenal have beaten Hull and Villa in recent finals, that says it all about the f. a cup nowadays.
