i no I have the banter with ya but why do u lot conceed your not making top 4 all the time! gooners will make it and we have a bloody tough run in utd and liverpool away where we usally get nothing plus we are on our arses to many games I think it be u and gooners

Alright perky. How you doin?

We talk this way because we expect it. It happens every season. We have a major knack of of shooting ourselves in the foot. Chelsea, the goons and us have not been good this season. Our home form had been terrible and I'm surprised we are still up there. I suppose we have been the best of a bad lot. Our squad is shy of top4 players. Our game against you will determine where we finish. Unless you lose every game in between.

Agree1 Disagree0

We will lose a few we are leggy and rafa wants to win cups to put on his cv he not worried bout top 4

I don't think Chelsea and tottenham have anything to worry about arsenal will start dropping points again very soon I think tottenham chelsea in champions league and possible uefa cup as well

Agree2 Disagree5

As opposed to Chelsea and Spurs, who definitely won't drop any points for the rest of the season.

Alot of you spurs fans are deluded. Also you get boners from beating utd or the up the road. I want more and now after spending thousands a year with the club expect more. I suck to the pit of my stomach of falling short year after year and seeing out stars sold and replaced with cheap immersions. I have been saying it all season. We r not good enough. let's say we get cl can you see us buying what we need to qualify next season or even progress in the cl? NO.
Mr g

Believable6 Unbelievable7

If you been saying it all season, why are you so gutted?
It shouldn't be that unexpected for you should it.
I know we are going through a bad time but that is one of the most negative posts I've ever read.
You sound like you need help. Mate, it's only football. Pull yourself together.
You have just lined yourself up to be humiliated.

Agree6 Disagree3

This guy is on a major downer.
I had to read it twice to believe what I was reading.
So you are saying you are gutted we are throwing CL foot ball away and you also say, if we qualify for CL we will be rubbish in it?

Jeez, no helping some people.

Agree5 Disagree1

So let's get this right

You say we aren't good enough to qualify for CL.
You say you will be gutted if we don't qualify for CL.
You say we will be crap if we DO get to th CL.

Blimey, got all the negative bases covered there haven't you.

COYS {Ed008's Note - Where's the faith? Pretty sure theirs 7 games left and you occupy 4th?

Agree1 Disagree1

The only person deluded is u Mr G ( or is it Mr Gooner). If u can not see the progress we have made in last 5 yr u have lost your mind or would u prefer to go back to the days of atouba rocha hutton & the like.
We have made vast improvement since those days, we have training facilities that is as good as anything in europe, so our structure is strong as a club & to build anything with longevity for success u need to have solid foundations. You moan like a baby " why didn't we sign Damiao" 20 ml reasons & I for one am glad Daniel levy didn't pay it he's not worth it.
You are a prime example of the I want it now generation all me me me put it on the credit card well wake up we can't throw around money nilly- nilly. I could look at any club in pl & see where players need replacing or b improved but u know what the whole idea of coaching a team is so they become more than the sum of their parts, u pick on a young player like walker & the mistakes he makes well newsflash name me a player who doesn't It's how u respond to it & he has potential & it will click for him if he keeps showing the commitment he has & keeps working he just needs to listen to his instinct when to pass, tackle etc at moment u can see he's questioning himself & is getting caught in two minds what to do & moaning beeitchs like u aren't helping him.
So instead of been a hinderance to the team either show commitment like walker does or bugger off & spread your poison at another stadium. You belittle the uefa " oh It's CL or nothing everything else is a failure" well quess what the uefa is a cup that we have a chance of winning, if we fail to make CL I for one will live with it & support the team that I love no matter what.

Well to counter the negativity here's some blind optimism ;)

I genuinely believe that, barring injuries and taking only the top 11 players into account, we are only a left back and a striker from mounting a title challenge.

?
Sig/Holt - Bale - Lennon
Dembele - Sandro
? - Vert - Daws - Walker
Lloris

Now I'm not suggesting that we can get these players, but to highlight my point pick your favourite LB and ST and put them in that team and compare to any other prem team. So let's say Baines and Dzeko as an example. That I can even talk of that shows the progress that we have been making.

Yes we're not the richest club so we have to be clever with our purchases. Yes we need more strength in depth as a few key injuries (Sandro, Lennon) recently have dipped our form. But if you can't see how far we have come and that we generally have a young and tight squad of players that are still improving then you are blind too! :)

Agree3 Disagree1

Wulf

Like you, I think our first eleven is pretty good but our second eleven is less so.

Lloris has proved to be a really good purchase and my only worry is that the ‘money no object’ clubs will soon start to notice him.

I am not as concerned as you about left back, because I think this might be Vertonghen’s best position when Kaboul is back (whenever that might be).

Your midfield quartet looks pretty good, but I don’t think we have replaced Modric and VDV with similar class. In the second half of the season we have been playing with Bale almost wholly in central midfield so another quality left-sided player might be required.

Of course our biggest need is for someone to lead the line and score regularly, but what kind of player should we be looking for?

A proven top quality player will be hard to attract and probably too expensive anyway. Of course the ideal is to find an unproven top quality player but everyone is trying to do that and few succeed.

The alternative is to settle for someone who is not ideal but is better than what we currently have. This can work, but there is a danger of squandering scarce resources without really solving the problem. I think players like Michu, Benteke and Remy might fall into this category.

I am afraid I have more questions than answers, but I guess that is why I am watching Spurs rather then working for them.
KM

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh I agree KM - our second 11 is mediocre at best (and I think we are seeing that recently).

Agree with all you said. The only thing I'd add is that for striking options there are plenty of european clubs that we can compete with that have ended up with much better strikers than we have and we need to learn from it.

i heard that we are getting jovetic is this true?

Believable0 Unbelievable7

08 Apr 2013 18:33:59
ummm don't think so

Agree5 Disagree0

Nonsense!

I also heard we was getting llorente, damaio, aguero, dzeko, tevez, berbatov (again), benteke, moutinho, lewandowski, hazard, Oscar and many more.

Where any of them true?

NO!

Do not believe rumours! {Ed002's Note - I think one of those might well become true in the summer.}

Agree0 Disagree1

My guess ed is that you are thinking benteke?
I saw a late rumour on 31 jan that we had a Bid of 11.2m excepted.
I hoped it was true, it wasn't yet again.

I've seen that AVB has been named favourite for the next Real Madrid manager by ? What are people's views on this, and is it just speculation.

Me personally wasn't to happy with the appointment at the start of the season but I must say he has won me over and would be gutted to see him leave, not to sure who his replacement would be if it was to happen?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He won't be going anywhere.
If he did leave, levy will have his contract so tied up, it would cost Madrid a fortune.

The end of a season chaps, sorry to say.
The squad hasn't pulled their weight over the season relied to much on bale. Lack of investment on quality players to make a difference has now cost us. We r too over rated
Mr g

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Problem is we really have only about 7 top players and about 4 or 5 squad players without counting the youngsters! That's not good enough! Levy has let us down season after season, with lack of investment! Why didn't we buy Remy?
I still believe that we will qualify for CL, 3rd or 4th, but we need BIG investment and a clearing of the crap!
And while I am moaning, why did we let Townsend go on loan?

Agree2 Disagree0

Townsend went out on loan because he wanted to play and show that he is ready for the first team, to be fair if he stayed it was looking like some of game he wouldn't even make the bench.
no one could forecast that we would have some many injury's to key players at this stage of the season.

Levy failed to buy key players that was needed in January that is what has cost us the most.

Spurs81

Agree2 Disagree1

Mr G I'd of hated to play in a team with u in it, such a defeatist attitude, if players had your outlook we'd b losers every wk.
Ok we should of invested but we have what we have & are still in fourth & I'd rather have the points than the game in hand so just get on with it & support the team, It's far from over.
Espur

Agree4 Disagree2

The attitude is due to lack of quality players in our squad. Also players not standing up and be counted. Bale has single handed taken us to where we are. VAT is the only player that we have got in and looked a good buy. Absolutely no improvement on the players we have signed.
Parker- twist and turn
Calker- Not for the prem
Walker - clueless in defending
Gallas- Finished
Lennon- not enough in games
Defoe- Greedy
Adi- lazy
Sig- dnt cut the mustard for top 4
Dempsey- mid table player
Beni- can't defend
Holtby- Nothing special
HUdd- slow
Dumbele- step over king

LLoris, dawson, Bale and vat are the only players worthy of there salary. FACT
the rest dnt cut it SORRY but the truth
negative but true
I ask you spurs fans. Which player from the above apart from the ones I have mentioned worthy of their salary will get in the so called top 4. FACE IT we are not top 4 or CL side
MR G

Agree3 Disagree2

Haha, you cannot state an opinion as a fact Mr G, just saying.

You are, in fact, wrong though.

Your brief and clueless assessment of the above players is pretty shocking to be honest. Are you a Spurs fan?
There are number of players listed above who have had good seasons, and shouldn't be subjected to your ridiculous, uninformed opinions.

Try getting behind the team for the rest of the season, I am pretty confident that Spurs will qualify for the CL and will have a good run in the Europa League too.

Agree1 Disagree5

Oh dear oh dear,

Poor Mr G,

Sooo negative, many of the players you have mentioned have been very good this season but to say that only Lloris, dawson, bale and Vert are worthy of salarys is just stupid, Dembele with Vert and Bale has by far been our best player this year, the guy oozes class. Personally I think Friedel has done well this season, BAE and Thudd have both only just come back after long injury lay offs so are both off the pace, Holtby needs time and games to settle, Lennons form has seen him back in the England frame again, Siggi is getting better with game time and is only 22 so will continue to improve, the only players you mentioned that have poor seasons IMO are Gallas, Walker (who again is only 22 so will learn from this season), Ade and Dempsey, I would have to question your loyalty to Spurs or if infact you are a Spurs fan at all.

Qualifiying for the CL will be difficult there is no question about that, but as things stand it is well and truly in OUR own hands, and to slate to Europa cup is just ridulous because I have no doubt that if we win it, and we have a very good chance you will be 1 of the first paper thin fans on this site saying how wonderful we and how you knew we good do it.

Being a Spurs is tough enough without so called fans like you.

Agree2 Disagree1

Would be nice to replace everyone we don't rate, but it won't happen! We have the nucleus of a bloody good team when our injuries clear up!
Lloris, Vert, Walker, Kaboul, Bale, Dembele, Sandro and Lennon are all top class players.

Siggy, Holtby and Naughton all have good potential to be top class players.

Defoe, Dawson, Ade, Friedel are all good squad / back up players.

Shame about Parker, too old, and runs around in circles.

Gallas, Bae and Dempsey are all liabilities and must go.

Levy, must stop being so tight! It's his fault we are struggling to score goals, buy us the CF we deserve!

So let's not cut our wrists yet, a long way to go, and we are still in the mix for a cup and a top four finish!
Ps. What's happened to Fryers, why isn't he getting a run out at left back?

I made similar comments about Dempsey on this site long before and subsequently during the Manchester United home game. When he tapped in the equaliser, I got slated. Funny!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Dempsey is over priced and over rated! A mid table club player at best!

Agree3 Disagree0

The way we are going, we will be a middle table club and he will be well suited!
