Lots of rumours Clint Dempsey and Adam Johnson are off to Villa of all places can't see it myself but are these not the type of premiership proven players we should making a move for?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

No, not at all.

This isn't really a rumour but something id explore. Moyes has made it clear he wants pienaar, so why not offer him and other deadwood e.g. jj, bentley in the hunt for maybe a baines or fellaini.

Just a thought.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Because Everton and Moyes especially are not that stupid to swap their two best players for our deadwood.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why MF ? We have sandro and Parker ..
And Baines and Peinaar bring out great football in each other that's why they want P back so would destroy the whole point of the swap

I'm starting to believe all the rumours surrounding a new owner buying the club, we have always had a wage cap under levy/lewis..reportedly £70.000 a week?..all of a sudden, bale £115.000 a week, sigurdsson, apparently £110.000 a week, and now modric will be offered the same contract as bale..something's changed..or about to!.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Please tell me that's not true that we're paying ,sigurdsson £110.000 a week. If we are then that's just crazy as good as a player he might be he's done nothing to warrant that kind of money. {Ed001's Note - based on what he was asking for from Liverpool, it won't be true. Liverpool never bothered sorting a deal with Hoffenheim because of his wage demands, but that's because he was asking for 70k a week. Rodgers knew he had agreed to join Swansea on half that amount, so refused to double it just because it was Liverpool. So, knowing that, I would say he is on round about 70k a week at Spurs.}

Agree2 Disagree0

No player at the club is over 100k a week I think and am pretty sure that what we raised the cap to
And Siggy on 110k a week behave

Agree0 Disagree1

Sig is on 50 grand aweek.

Agree3 Disagree0

Bales new contract is over 100k a week. It's 115k per week.

Agree1 Disagree0

Now this why raising the pay cap is such a worry.
Bale without doubt is on or very close to £100k a week. VDV and Parkeer will be on approx £75k a week and that now becomes the target wage for any players Spurs are looking to sign.Sig will be on £60-£70K. So thest 4 playesr aloe going to cost about £17 million a year. Add to that the estimated £4 million for HR and his team were paid and the rumoured £7 million for AVB and team. Really not a lot of wriggle room.
Spurs revenue streams are unlikely to yield any signicant increase so quite simply will either have to sell, increase borrwings or find a benefactor. The last 2 options create an issue with FFP.
Players leaving were on far less wages than those likely to come in

Dear Panicked Spurs Fans,

I so hope these rumours of Walcott to Spurs are not true!

Spurs4Life

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Dont worry spurs4life avb will not want him he likes good technical players not ones who cant control the ball mattyid

This isn't necessarily what I want but I have a feeling this is the kind of system we can expect under AVB:

Adebayor
Lennon Dos Santos
Sigurdsson Moutinho
Sandro
Bale Walker
Vertonghen Kaboul
Lloris

I think AVB will look to play Bale in a wing back position as his strength will always be running down the left and this way he will always have somebody in front of him which will stop other teams closing him down with 2 markers. Also he will suit a high defensive line with inside forwards ahead of him.

I'm curious to see whether AVB will give Dos Santos a chance or whether it's too late and he's already got his heart set on Spain, as he would be effective as an inside forward on the right wing in my opinion.

The weak link is Lennon (not much of a weak link) and obviously we need a decent striker. Preferably somebody who can hold up play and bring in other players. Adebayor would be my choice, if AVB can motivate him as well as Harry could. He scored ~25 goals for us last season if you include the ones that were incorrectly ruled offside.

Also yes I am aware that we haven't signed Lloris or Moutinho but both would be fantastic in my opinion. I don't know much about Oscar, does anybody know where he plays?

Exciting times ahead!

Adam

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Okay I've made a few changes...

-----------Adebayor-------------
---Oscar------------Sturridge---
--------------------------------
-----Sigurdsson--Moutinho-------
------------Sandro--------------
-Bale--------------------Walker-
------Vertonghen--Kaboul--------
--------------------------------
------------Lloris--------------

That's what I think Tottenham will look like this season, for better or for worse.

Adam

Agree2 Disagree0

You forgot RVP

Agree1 Disagree0

Well see ,exciting times indeed!!

Agree1 Disagree0

It was my understanding that Oscar and Moutinho play in the same position. I dont know this for sure, only going on reports on radio (etc). If I understood the radio correctly, I cannot see us buying them both.

Would someone that is ITK please let me know.

Thank you.

Agree1 Disagree0

Can see that being close to team adam avb likes to play a high defensive line that back line aint gonna get outpaced with balls in behind them to often and has the pace to recover if we get caught on break

Agree2 Disagree0

2-2-1-2-2-1 formation ??? Intresting

With what we are hearing AVB's team for next season seems to be taking shape: Lloris/Walker/Kaboul/Vertonghen/BAE/Sandro/Oscar/Sigurdsson/Sturridge/Remy/Bale (Squad: Friedel, Caulker, Dawson, Naughton, Parker, Huddlestone, Livermore, Pienaar, Lennon, Defoe)

Personally, I think this would leave a dearth of experience midfield creativity, I don't think we can afford to lose Modric and VDV and replace them with Sigurdsson and Oscar. Ideally, Modric would stay and play alongside Sigurdsson and Sandro in the 3. Otherwise, we must sign an experienced playmaker to replace Modric; Moutinho seems the best choice, I just hope Levy would pay the reported £25 mil fee.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

05 Jul 2012 13:47:34
Has anyone considered modric staying? Or are we all resigned to leving him like me

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I for one think we should try to keep him. If he's determined on leaving then show him the door. If we can get him on board for the sake of a project (which I doubt we can as he's already 27) then great!

hk_yid

Agree0 Disagree1

I want him to stay but only if he buys into AVBs vision

Adam

Agree0 Disagree1

We are going to have this saga every window until he leaves. Whislt we all know what a good player he can be, we havent seen it for a while now. I for one have had enough of it, and now feel that it is best for all concerned if we say thanks for the memories but its time to move on.
Any one else feel the same?

Caulker signed up until 2016 (SSN)

Believable2 Unbelievable0

05 Jul 2012 13:15:32
From all the rumours it feels like it could be...

Ins

Sig
Vertonghen
Moutinho/Oscar (if Modric leaves)
Ade/Hulk/Damaio or AN Other main man
Kalou (thinking this could be possible with AVB here and he's a freebie)

Outs

Modric (as above)
Bentley
Charlie
Niko
JJ
Gio (may get a chance to prove something to AVB but can't see him putting up with troublesome players after his Chelski experience)

? - Gallas (still need some CB cover if Caulker not returning), Naughton (depends on how Smith is perceived as ready to step up), Pienaar (will be interesting to see who/what cover AVB will keep in midfield with Thudd and Livermore on the books as well)

Depending on how it slices with Oscar/Moutinho and who the striker is then that could be up to £65-70mill ish in and maybe £65-70mill ish out so if there's a decent kitty already then who knows what's possible.

I think we'd be stronger for those changes without breaking the transfer fee bank but wages would be going up i'm sure.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Can't see Kalou signing; AVB didn't fancy him at Chelsea and I'm pretty sure Kalou had a dig when he left. Sturridge, however, is more likely, as AVB seemed to get him playing very well.

Agree0 Disagree1

Does anybody know how severe / what type of meningitis Sturridge has ? As I believe depending on how bad it is it could take a very very long time to get better from

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2012 13:05:50
Sell Modders and VDV, get in Oscar, Damioa and Sturridge, play parker where he usually plays with oscar and sigurdson just infron of him, with Bale as a LWf and Sturridge as the RWF with Damioa in the centre, you would then destroy teams, just a centre back and a keeper to sort out after that :D

Player power in general is making me angry: They are all on better money from where they came from, thats why the signed.Life changing money, the clubs are left in limbo every season. We all want our players to do well but every transfer window we could loose them to clubs offering crazy money. They all come out and say they want to leave to win things BULLs**t if the pull there socks up and play every week properly they will win things its PURE MONEY (have the balls to say it).
luka - tott
RVP- ars
berba- tott
naz- ars
torr -lpool
the list can go on and on....
PLayers at chelsea, utd and city most of em sit on the bench they dnt moan coz they are on s**t loads of cash week in week out.
i dnt have the answers but somthing needs to be done.

Would like to see the youngster coulibally given a chance next season maybe in league cup and europa. Any thoughts??

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Definitely

Agree2 Disagree0

He's not ready

Agree1 Disagree1

^^^ I believe that he is ready. (He maybe still only 17/18 but if your old enough etc. How old was Rooney when he broke into Evertons first team?)

Flippit

Agree1 Disagree0

Souley is a prospect but he's not as good as Rooney at that age. Also don't let descriptions of baby drogba fool you, he's a small poacher like Defoe.

Can anyone tell me when the NDP will be completed if it goes ahead as planned?

No responses including the words "Olympic Stadium" please! (Yes, I'm talking to you, the omniscient Oracle)

I think they reckon once it's started 3 years ... Or there abouts

Whispers going round that we aren't going to go for Ade which is a shame as I was impressed with his attitude last year, but he is refusing to budge on his wage demands. Instead, we are going to look at Demba Ba and also are monitoring the progress of Daniel Sturridge's menigitis with the view of taking him on an initial Loan with a view to a permanent move.

Modric is not definately leaving. Levy and AVB want to meet with him first, if he wants to go, they will let him, but only overseas. Levy is willing to back AVB for Oscar as Modric's replacement to the sum of £14m but won't sanction a move is Luka stays.

Bring Oscar and Damiao in for Internacial. (sorry for spelling) Apparently we have a £100m transfer budget so bring the pair in for about £30m with Modders going that will bring in cash.

Jermain Jenas apparently off to Southampton aswell.

Thoughts?

RtheYID

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Jenas isnt off to Southampton. He told me himself he wants to stay and fight for his place but if forced out then he wants to head closer to his family and home town of Nottingham

Agree1 Disagree2

As long as Jenas goes, who give a s**t where he goes. The bloke is useless.

Except, bizarrly, whenever he plays against the arses.

All say, so. But we should (No doubt) be in the champions league, but we are spurs, defoe takes the ball around reina scores foul given lol, lampard shoots crossed the line gomes clearly stops it on the line, last season vs stoke adebayor 3yrds onside at least offside given (gr8 decision chris foy) the fa cup semi-final ghost goal, pedro mendes vs roy carrol etc etc, need i say anymore. Do we get f***ed over or what 3rd was rubbed from us last season. WE ARE SPURS we get screwed over. !!FACT!!

Spurs to sign Van Persie? maybe we could make a cheeky bid. Revenge would be sweet.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

What could possibly make him want to move to us out of any club in the world?!

I dnt wanna get negative but: sig, remy are the Avb targets or levys or Harry's transfer list is like to see Avb now get the players he wants to work with and feel we need to push on from 4th. Regarding luka didn't Avb want him at chavs maybe he and get him to stay and build a team to challenge.

The thing about chelsea's transfers are that the manager doesn't decide them Abramovich does. He wants Modric as much as any chelsea manager did/does.
