If I were Madrid I would be bidding tuppence over the transfer record for bale at an absolute maximum. £100m is cloud cuckoo land. It would just be nonsense for spurs to turn down any "world record bid" for one of their players from a big team like Real Madrid. You'd be better taking your £80m now, with some time to potentially reinvest it, rather than posturing and spouting hot air til the end of the month when he'll leave anyway. £80m's plenty by the way.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes but you have simply missed the fact that if we have 80mill in the bank then other players we go for, will be double thier value just because we have money.

Playing it this way means that we can go for a player and won't be held for ransom. Now take your jealousy elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the original poster you start by being madrid then you finish by being tottenham you really know what's BEST for EVERYONE don't you. shame your not prime minister the way you can solve everyones problems. Thanks for your advise we will consider it NOW DO ONE

Sounds like the first post is not from a Spurs fan. The problem here is the money is being payed over 5 years giving us only 20m to spend now So we loose our best player and will then be hit with higher fees for other players. If Madbid want the guy then they pay us the money as we ask or they don't get the player. Would you sell your house with payments to you over 5 years. How would you then buy another.

Agree0 Disagree0

Welcome to the money world

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes! The above reply is spot on and what I have been trying to explain to family and friends who are fellow spurs fans. The comparisons to selling a house are exactly right. 20 mill now and we cannot replace him with that. Real madrid are the ones who are messing around here. I am sure levy has given them a price, even bale has a price!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget no one actually knows if we have received a bid yet

Agree0 Disagree0

A mortgage?

Agree0 Disagree0

The point about the house I made was if you have something you do not just give it away to someone therefore you have to forsake your plans and maybe downscale them. If Madbid wants Bale then they must meet our terms as we hold GB contract. To offer an amount of money is not enough we need to know one they can afford to make payments and two that the payments are what suits us. To agree a fee is just part of a deal and many deals have fallen down because teams cannot agree on the payment terms. A bit like buying a house, car or any deal where the item is being paid off. Try it just tell your local salesman you want to buy something on your terms. Make it the most expensive item in the shop and then ask for years to pay it off.

Here's how we stand on bale, Daniel levy is still on holiday at the moment and has recieved a bid for bale, he however has not informed bale of this bid so bale is angry at levy for not telling him, I. e he heard from tv before levy himself, this is why bale was angry with the spurs management, bale does not want to leave and all the paper talk of a new contract being signed earlier this summer was just levy and bales agent trying to drive his price up, bale is not injured at the moment, levy has told AVB not to play him as he might get injured making Real Madrid drop their interest, this is all just a scheme for selling bale at the highest price possible. Basically people bale DOES NOT want to leave, instead the spurs people behind the doors are trying to force him out gaining money, bale himself has said he loves his manager and would prefer a move next year as he has recently had a baby girl named suitably Alba Violet Bale (AVB). So our chairman we have trusted will let us down, in AVB we trust in levy we do not

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok and you know all this how?

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard so much nonsense in my life!

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute tosh! Can't believe I wasted a minute of my life reading it! Bale will be here for one more year! Oh yeah and Levy isn't on holiday he lives in America though!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets just say I know bale very well

I COME IN PEACE ( that's BEFORE I GET JUMPED ON FOR LOVING LEEDS UNITED!)
On our site some person has wrote Bentley is en route to us but because he's wrote FACT on end of it I thought I'd ask if anything has been heard of it in the capital before I expose
him for being the liar he is?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't know but your welcome to him as he's not even a spurs player anymore!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bentley sounds like everything you could ever want. Sadly this is David Bentley and not the car. The guy might be ok but seems nore interested in his looks than putting in a proper shift. Not sure his best position as he has no pace and little skill at beating other players. Maybe a deep playmaker but somewhere where he will not have to work hard or get dirty. good luck for season ahead.

After juve want rid of 2 strikers, I think Vucinic would be a quality signing, similar style to berbatov. a very intelligent player!

Spurs have just signed Soldado.

Although things are looking up at the Emirates.

Arsenal have just put a bid in for Kenny Sansom, although they've stated he'll have to sleep in the changing rooms.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He came to buy my family home in whetstone when he was playing for arsenal. Right flash cocky git. How the mighty has fallen
Mr g

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr. G, Kenny Sanson may have been cocky back then but it never nice to kick a person when he is down. There but for the grace of God.

The Don

Agree0 Disagree0

That's just really classy. Making fun of someone homeless and struggling with alcoholism. Arsenal are helping him out and the least you could do is show some respect. Or is that too much to ask?

Ted

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL - Mr G, I grew up in whetstone. not been back in almost 25 years. used to take the #34 bus to home games when I was in high school.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don my parents home was getting repossessed due to the thatcher times.
We asked for 120,000 he offered 90k and replied you dnt much choice after explaining the situation. So no I can't share your concern with him. Anyone else defo

Kenny samson was a footballer first and a bloody good one. it is very disrespectful to say anything other that to wish him OUR best as a football club. we are better than that I know (muamba) also don't forget gazza it happens and it is very sad WHOEVER the ex footballer is.

good luck kenny from ALL at spurs FOOTBALL club

Whilst I appreciate the comments and the individuals personal opinions, the problem I have with people like Kenny Samson, is 1) he had it all and frittered it all away, so why should anyone feel for him and 2) if this was any general member of the public (and there are 1000's of homeless) it would make the news at all let alone back page headlines.

Its a shame it happens to anyone regardless of who they are, but when someone who has everything then throws it away I find it hard to feel for people like that.

Hi Eds,

Can you clarify what I have heard today, Levy is indeed in talks with Madrid president Perez over the Bale transfer but he has alledgedly told Madrid that any deal will have to be around the £95m mark and include the u-21 striker moretta who is valued at around £15m and also that the first payment will need to be 1/3 of the transfer fee (£32m ish).

What I don't understand is why doesn't Levy offer a new contract to Bale say with Wages of £165k and a buyout fee of £75m activated from July 1st 2014 dependant on CL qualifications.

This way Bale stays for another season knowing that if we don't qualify for the CL he can get his dream transfer to Madrid next season. I love Bale and hope he stays and IMO believe he owes spurs at least one more season, yes he has been a good servant, but everybody even the players know what Levy is like, but this season Levy has dug deep and spent well to build a team around Bale and I feel he owes it to the club and the fans to spend this season at the lane. {Ed002's Note - The numbers are not as I understand it.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree THFC4EVER, This is just a bit of banter. Jesus some people need a little sense of humor.

I hardly think Kenny is reading this do you. ? He's into the big issue now days so I've heard.

Anyone fancy a pint. ?

Any truth in suarez to spurs, to re place bale? I doubt it but heard a few people mention this yesterday! I hope its true!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't get carried away with the Suarez issue.

He will only go to a CL team

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally wouldn't want Suarez even on a free, quite frankly I hope he leaves the EPL all together. Our league does not need players like him, the constant diving alone is a disgrace to our good game. I hope the EPL becomes tougher on any behaviour that devalues the integrity of the sport regardless of who they are or what club they play for. {Ed004's Note - I'm not trying to start a fight or argument and I agree suarez is a hateful individual but there are many players that dive in the premiership and you have Bale who has been ridiculed by many pundits for it this season}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not original poster but I agree with his comments about Suarez. I'd feel sick if I saw him in a Spurs shirt. Your right about Bale Ed its a disgrace when he dives. Like other poster said, no matter who or what team they play for they should get punished. Bale included!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm the original poster and the response above is spot on ed- Anyone, any team. Every game is televised and every game can be reviewed, if the FA took a post game review and heavy penalty stance, couldn't help but feel the EPL would further position itself as the best league in the world. Cheating should not part of our game whatever form it comes in. {Ed004's Note - I agree I will never defend a dive and we've had many a player do it at united (Nani, Ronaldo etc) and I think they should be punished after the game though it is difficult as sometimes minimal contact (clipping someone's heels etc) is enough to bring some down whereas a slight tug of the shirt isn't}
