Ive been on here a few times saying to stay positive and get behind the boys, and i'm still trying to, but today was comfortably the lowest ebb for me so far. I was not amused at the selection of Paulinho who in my opinion offers nothing at all. To top this off Erikson gets shoved out to the right where he is ineffectual and Paulinho gets set pieces? That game was crying out for speed in attack and we had none. Then he left it 30 mins too long to get Townsend on. Where has the energy and team pressing gone, where was the desire to win and have one last shot at top 4, disappointed!

a win at burnley would have put man city, who still have to play arsenal man u and us at the lane under severe pressure.
as I type this they're losing at palace, which only underlines now important the 3 points would have been.

I just hope we continue with turf moor displays between now and may and miss out on the poxy Europa sleepathon.

thats it the season is over. we are a joke of a club who are not going anywhere. poch is cluless is team selection today was shocking and the players did not look intrested. the fans should boycott the lane for the rest of the season to show levy and co we are not happy. I will not renew my season ticket next season as the club show no ambition. if iwas lloris or kane I would want to get out of this club as soon as possible as they won't win anything here. fed up bigtime

Thank God for that, hopefully your ticket ends up in the hands of a supporter.

1985 I will give you my ticket for the rest of the season if you want it, after todays performance the players were thinking about their summer exotic holidays paid for by me and you.

I cannot stress enough how the decision to "pay their wages" lays with the individual falling for the commercialism of the sport so don't cry about a decision you made yourself and nobody forces upon you.

What is Mopo doing . We are only 8 points behind city, 3 points today and we play them soon, we should be putting pressure on them! But we play Chiriches, who is worse than Kaboul, and Paulinho, who is slower than Dawson! Not one player with pace in the team!!

Verts, Fazio not on the bench either (Id mention Kaboul, but that would be redundant)

It's defiantly a strange game day squad - not as if we are giving some youngsters experience which would at least be understandable.

After spending a bloody fortune going to watch that tripe , I wonder if Levy would like to refund my money!
I don't want rid of Mopo but what the hell is he playing at? What manager in the PL would even think of playing Paulinho , and no quick wingers against a team in the bottom six? He had Lamela , townsend , Soldado and Dembele on the bench , all who are better than useless , but better than Paulinho! Is he using the last lot of games to put these players in the shop window? A win today and we would have put pressure on those below us , still 7/8th won't be bad as we keep being told its a transitional time for us!
1985 , did you notice any positive points?

Gary Neville summed it up nicely during commentary - it looks like the spurs players have given up any hope of breaking the top 4. lol!

That game had a distinct whiff of 'end of season, nothing play for' vibe about it. Made me laugh that the useless moggy townsend only got 10 mins at the end after his england heroics, especially after hoddle tried to claim he'd been doing that 'week in week out for spurs', lol. That bloke lives on another planet.

davo you are spot on mate. the club has been short changing us fans for years. we are one of the dearest clubs to follow and we get a team struggling for top 6. we buy rubbish players on the cheap year in year out. the club is a shambles from the owner right down to the players.just look across the road at arsenal that club is run excellent I would swap their owners and manager tomorrow with ours

On the bright side its a step in the right direction for avoiding the Thursday night league next season, both Liverpool last season and utd this season benefited big style from not having to cope with it.
Going for top 4 but just missing out would already make next season more difficult, if not 4th then 8th is next best.

Davo, same old ranting different day. It's funny how you never post on here when we get a positive result. Typical spurs fans, want us to fail so they have something to grumble about. Positive points, we still exist as a club and I can still cheer or the team I love and SUPPORT in the next game and beyond. We didn't lose against a very good side (even if you are blind to the fact even bottom 6 teams in the epl are more than capable of beating the best teams on their day) and this season is getting closer to the end so as you and others keep bleating on about "we can judge Mopo after he's made his own signings". The fact we have had a good season as a whole is a positive. The problem is the masses on here are to blind to look at the bigger picture, short sighted I believe it's called!

1985 , I know we have different opinions but I have to hand it to you , you have positive attitude! And if I was feeling down in the dumps I would certainly phone you for a pick up . You must have supported Spurs almost as long as me , 47 years? The season isn't that bad I know , and 7th isn't bad , but we have been sh**e a lot of the time! But if you could keep sending those happy vibes down to the rest of us , we will finish the season with a flourish , and us disgruntled supporters will have to eat our words!!

Look on the positive side - a clean sheet for a change.

Other than that pretty much more of the same, 60% posession, 4 shots on goal, against a team in the bottom 3.

I expected mid table this season, a trip to Wembley was a bonus.

But I have to agree with Davo the actual performance of the players on the field does not seem to be getting any better as a team which is something I would have expected to see in a transition year.

I haven't supported spurs for 47 years but support them I do. There will inevitably be good and bad times as a supporter of any side and I enjoy the ride the season offers instead of expecting miracles which of course will not happen. I once was so passionate about the team I also found it impossible to enjoy being a spurs fan until I realised that it really doesn't effect what is really important in my life. My family is still fit and healthy, my daughter is still the most amazing miracle I've ever experienced and I still have luxurys in my life all third world people would be grateful for. The one thing I don't feel is important is a sport which has been commercialised to seem as if it's a religion to live and die by. I celebrate the fact I have a desire for THFC and and the ups and downs that come with it, I see success as a bonus and not some kind of mental drug to get me through the season. You call it positivty I call it being real with what's important in life and as much as I love my team just as much as the next fan, my life still goes on when the the team win, lose or draw. So yes Davo, feel free to contact me when you need a lift after a poor result and I will do my very best to bring you back to reality my friend!

Totally agree 1985. I think 5th or 6th is right for us this year. It is a season of transition and I think overall we should be really positive. We have the emergence of a top talent striker; the first we have had for about 6 years. We have a group of young talent pushing hard to break through. We have identified those that must go, and we finally have a manager that looks like forging a stronger long term deal.

8 points in 8 games is not achievable. A couple of weeks ago we were talking about Man City as title contenders, and now we think that they will come 5th behind us? We had great wins against Chelsea and Arsenal that we will sing about for years, but the losses against Liverpool and Manchester United showed that we are still building.

The worrying signs you see were always there. A couple of good performances don't hide that. We are rebuilding for the future.

There you go Davo, the positives are as pointed out by Wulf. After 11 games this season we were a "shambles" according to most. I repeatedly told everyone to calm down and stop overreacting and was crucified. Then we went on a good streak and all was forgiven for the poor start. The problem with fans is, when things are going well we start to change our expectations but when things are going bad we don't lower them, instead we see poor performances, inadequate players, a team that doesn't try hard enough and so on. As Wulf put it, "the worrying signs were always there" they are just easier to deal with when we win.

Wierd team selection . However at turf moor burnley have taken points off Liverpool, city and Chelsea. They are a good attacking a side

We got a clean sheet despite missing key players. Verts, lloris etc

At white hart lane we were lucky to beat them

I know as fans we expect spurs to win week in week out but I would have happily taken a point and a clean sheet against a good footballing club fighting for their lives
