Players spurs should be looking at -
Full backs - Shaw, Baines, Byram
Centre backs - Alderweireld, Inigo Martinez
Centre mids - McCarthy, Gungadon (very unlikely)
Creative mids - Isco (very unlikely), Eriksen, Belhanda
Wingers - Greizmann, Ince, Iker Munian, Tello
Strikers - Damaio, Soldado, Leo Baptistao, Negredo, Benteke, Villa

Spurs should sell/release (For the right price) -
Defenders - Gallas (free), Dawson (5-8mil), BAE (5-8mil), Naughton (2-4mil), Rose (4-6mil)
Midfilders - Parker (4-6mil), Livermore (2-5mil), Huddlestone (4-6mil), Sigurdson (6-8mil), Dempsey (2-5mil)
Strikers - Adebayor (2-10mil), Defoe (6-10mil)
*THESE ARE ROUGH GUESSED PRICES (DON'T HATE)*
Minimum income - 40mil
Maximun income - 76mil
*Obviously they will not all be sold and that these prices may be slightly high*

Also put a minimum price of 80 mil plus a good player (or two) or 100+mil

Added to a hopeful 20-40mil injected by the club

Who I feel should be bought -
- Damaio (reported £18mil)
- Negredo (€18mil fro revista de la liga)
- McCarthy (8-10mil)
- Greizmann (8-15mil) quality young
Winger
Or
- Ince (6-8mil)
- Shaw (5-10mil)
- Eriksen (reported 10-12mil)
And possibly
- Alderweireld

Alderwiereld, no he's poor! Sandro for left back? Think he would be a very good buy

Daniel Levy is our chairman : (
George.

Such a shame it ain't that simple though.

We would do terribly next season with that much churn. You need continuity even if some of the players are not the best. I also think that you are not focusing enough on a plan b team or a series of backups. For example Naughton is a good squad player that would be solid backup for Walker and wouldn't mind not playing regularly in the first 11. Why sell him for just a few million? What are you going to do better?

Dawson should not be sold, he's had a good season and is a leader.
Naughton as I said great backup for Walker.
Siggy has been much better second half of the season playing out of position. Not a regular starter for me but definitely has something to add.
Dempsey I know is not a fan's favourite but he chips in with some very important goals and is one of the few players we have that can get a scrappy one.
Defoe is coming closer to the end of his career but against teams that we want to counter attack is still one of the best in the business. And if you sell both him and Adebayor and get the 2 replacements you cite (Damiao and Negredo) then we still have a season with only 2 senior strikers.

You really really have to think more about the whole squad and about the psychology and not just how the first 11 looks on paper.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats why I said for the right, if someone was to offer a fairly high price, we should be willing to let players go such as dawson naughton and huddlestone

Bernard reports say Tottenham have enquired about his availability. This boy is something very special. Make Oscar look average

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Isco is going to Man City with Pellegrini.

Eriksen is looking to go to Spain but is finding it tough to get serious interest in him. He is also looking to Germany.

Why not bid for Carroll as he could do a job for you next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

why is adebayor so crap for us but was decent at arsenal? :/

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why oh why has it taken you months to realise/post this?
Something not quite right here.
Another trawler maybe?

Agree0 Disagree0

Davo,

I agree with the sentiment of your article, but the problem with excluding the other rival EPL teams is that we'll be cutting off our noses to spite our face. At the moment, Real are supposedly offering in or around £60m, but the EPL teams are reportedly considering £80m. If we exclude them, then Real are under no pressure to up their offer. And if we take out the megabucks of City, Chelski and United, then who are we left with? Barca has done their business with Neymar, so we're faced with the options of PSG, Monaco, Real and possibly Bayern, but I'd rule the latter out given they have Robben and Ribery on the flanks and seem intent on bringing Lewandowski into their fold, so can't see a central role being given to Bale there on that basis (not to mention the acquisition of Gotze as well. ). So, yeah, I agree. If we're going to do something, it needs to be done soon, and whilst I don't want to see Bale leave as much as the next person, I don't think we are in a position to snub offers that may in fact be 25% greater than some that might be tabled.

Bigbird, sorry mate but would rather cut of my nose than see Bale running at defenders week in, week out in the PL. At the end of the day, Levy will only sell for his price who ever the buyer is! Hope to god we keep him as he is priceless to us and we need to build our team around him, vert, Sandro, and Lloris!

Are there any links to Spurs bringing in a centre half?

We need a decent C/B to partner Vert! Whilst I love Dawson's desire to play for the club the fact is he is slow and loves a long ball! Caulker ain't ready in my opinion (not sure about him full stop) and thank the lord Gallas is gone! Massive question mark over Kaboul given how long he has been out of action so this needs to be addressed in the summer.

So the papers say it could be 80 million for Gareth, with 5 teams interested, then two things need to happen and quick 1 - Bale needs to sign new contract or put in a request so this can be sorted urgently
2 - If he is going, then Levy should state that no chance of a PL club getting him and that everything is sorted straight away. If a club wants to do a cash plus players offer, then the cash is paid straight away in a lump sum, not spread over the next five years. Tell them it's this price, money paid straight away so put up or shut up!
A big worry is, if we sell Bale before buying who we need then other clubs will know that we have the cash and prices for our targets will go up. Levy needs to do our business urgently whatever he is planning!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What a load of b/s davo no team pays upfront but if spurs would like to adopt that policy pretty sure most teams would demand the same from spurs my prediction would be over next 18 to 24 months levy will struggle to do bizniz in the epl already 4 clubs will not entertain spurs in regards to transfers

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I am a bit at loss here!
For something to be a load of rubbish, I would have had to state a fact that I thought or insisted was true! I didn't, what I said, look closer please so you can understand it, is that Levy should tell them that's the terms and like it or lump it. Yes, they could say the same to us but then we have a choice as well, like it or lump it. As for business in the EPL, I agree. Levy has p****d of most of the clubs, but who are we looking at in the PL, Baines, absolutely no chance, Benteke, no chance, anyone else?

Christian Atsu could be an option for us?

One year left on his contract and making statements like - "I have one more year contract with FC Porto but as a child I always dream to play at the highest level especially in England. I love to play there (England) so when I have the opportunity to play in England for sure I would like to move, "

I would like him at Spurs if he is reasonably priced?

Of course Gareth bale's agent is talking up a move to our "partners", its his job. If he goes for anything near to what the press are reporting then think how much this agent is going to make from it? Just like players coming in, until there is a pic with bale in a real shirt or club confirmation then it's speculation.

Banter please Eds.
Seeing links to Villa and Damiao. One unproven in the European leagues and one who has the best years behind him. So my main question is this.
Why does no-one want Osvaldo? Would be cheap and has a proven goal-scoring record in a top league for several seasons as well as being a player we can attract without CL football and would not have massive wages. Same with Bony, lots of goals (30?) in the Dutch League, would be cheap and would be a great physical presence as well as a classy finisher. My last player would be Felipe Melo, combative, strong and passes effectively, twice the player of Parker or Huddlestone nowadays and can cover CB, RB or LB. let's face facts. We won't make a big name signing (or signings) unless we sell Bale (And that is unfortunately getting a distinct possibility) so I'd be happy with bringing back Townsend, Rose, fully promoting Coulibaly, Ceballos, Smith, Fryers and Carroll as well as signing Bony, Melo and Osvaldo and selling Adebayor, Parker, Huddlestone and BAE.
Any comments?

Osvaldo - Too much of a character. Bony - Yes he's scored a lot. but he's playing in the Dutch league, hardlys much competition in there. Although I do agree with you on Felipe Melo, good strong and fast player! Personally I wish we still had VDV.

Agree0 Disagree0

^ Above poster, Van Persie and Suarez both scored less in all of their seasons in the Dutch league than Bony. Surely he is worth a punt, surely better than Adebay- can't-score?
Oxford Spur

Agree0 Disagree0

David Villa would be a great signing for Spurs in my opinion! He was out with a bad injury and then struggled to get back in a Barcalona side yet who wouldn't? Certainly doesn't make him a bad player now and for me given the objective for next season we only need him firing for a season or two!

Agree0 Disagree0

Melo is absolutely pants, would want Bony though!

Agree0 Disagree0

Kezman & alfonso alves the Middlesbrough legend scored more than Bony in seasons gone by - don't read much into the stats of the Dutch league. Das Boost was top scorer the season before do we want him as well!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bony and Osvaldo are both poor players and if these are what we are looking at then we are in trouble.
Bony may have scored more than Van Persie and Suarez, but then so did alfonso alves, who signed for Boro a few years ago and he was rubbish. Villa would be a great signing regardless of age, his experience alone is priceless for a team trying to challenge for tropheys.
