Genuine Question to you Spuds.if it is allowed to be aired.

Would you boys be happy to see Levy go

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who is his replacement . it's difficult to answer half a question. On the financial aspects he has done the club good. On the field are we entitled to more regardless of our expectations . Several people on here have shown why anything above 5th or 6th is exceeding our current financial capabilities in the PL.

At the end of the day the game, like most American sports, is being decided by the ability of the clubs financial resources, which are not restricted to simple attendance income any longer.

Agree0 Disagree2

You say on the financial aspects? really? Much of the money from Bale was wasted most people can see that. Sacking AVB, how much did that cost Tottenham .

Until Levy wakes up and realises Baldy isn't the answer then Tottenham will always play second fiddle I'm afraid

Agree1 Disagree0

Forgive me for the rash assumption of thinking a Gooner would ask an intelligent question.

Agree0 Disagree1

LOL

I thought you might have been a bit more wise to Levy, he has wasted as much money as he has made, I take it maths wasn't your strong point?

Remind me, how many managers have you paid off .

Agree1 Disagree0

The issue isn't what has Levy done, it's more an issue of if he can take us further. It appears not I agree.

I trust for your sake Lord Wenger lasts for ever cause you are going to have turmoil once he decides to go and sit in the analysts booth. He has done an amazing job of keeping you in the top 4 and paying off most of the new stadium. In modern times only SAF has done a better job and he left a mess behind on the pitch when he left.

Schneiderlin has revealed his '6 years of an amazing journey have been destroyed in one hour'. Read into that how you will.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Has he signed for spurs then
lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit of jealousy welshie, especially as he was one of Arses top targets!

Agree1 Disagree0

DAVO
i think khidir was his first choice but you never know with LORD Wenger, he will probley buy some 2nd divion french lad .

Agree0 Disagree1

That was actually funny boyo.

Agree0 Disagree0

He isn't our top target, read the press

Agree1 Disagree1

Welshgooner, I know you're bantering and you hate spurs, as you should as an arsenal fan, but you do make some good points, as well as some blatant intendidly ignorant ones. Give us an honest, un-biased opinion on how spurs will do this year and over the next 5. I'm quite optimistic. As an honest spurs fan, and a fan of football in general, I think arsenal could sneak the league this year, providing you buy a striker. I know I'll get vilified for this but I can only be honest.

Agree0 Disagree1

Banbury, you make me laugh! Read the press you say! If I believed everything it said in the press then Arse would have brought 60% of the players at the World Cup plus a couple of light footed ballerinas to replace Poldolski plus Spurs would have signed Messi, Kroos and Wenger! I can't believe even a gooner was stupid enough to come out with that statement!
Arsen even stated that he wanted Schneiderlin last season and at the World Cup . Face facts, not all the top players want to go to Arsenal although you would like to think so!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - He is an Arsenal target..

Mate what a good response, yes we have fed the clubs above us.
Because we could match the wage s some clubs offer.hopefully we can do now.
even selling our best players year after year, we have still achieved, the top 4 spot.
But a few names popped into my head.you might recognize some of them
michael Carrick
Sol Legend Campbell
Teddy Sheringham
Robbie keane
I see you like to feed those you strive to catch.
You do look to have a pair of top players if their come in them two soton lads,
But what is going on with them, talk about a fire sale

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Glad to see you can now spell check Paint boyo.

Agree0 Disagree0

NORTHY
No got one of the girls to do it before she went home, lol
She shoke her head and did it I a flash.

Two years ago, I asked why Levy seemed so determined to appoint AVB, when his actual track record wasn't very impressive, but I was assured that AVB was one of the best young managers around and we would be lucky to get him.

That resounding endorsement didn't last very long.

Now it is Pochettino who is going to galvanise Spurs.

Perhaps he will, but I can't help noticing that his managerial record is even more mediocre than AVB's.

In his first half season, he took Espanyol from 3rd bottom to mid-table safety and followed that with a solid second season. Then it all went wrong, Espanyol slumped to the bottom of the table and he was sacked in November 2012.

Soon after, he was appointed by Southampton (why?) and did a good job, taking them to 8th place last season (still 12 points behind us).

He may be a great manager in the making (I hope so) but he has done nothing yet and I will suspend my judgement until he has.

While I am on the subject of my rubbish posts, not long ago I reported a rumour that AVB was unhappy with Baldidni's interference in transfers and that this was probably a factor in his sacking. This was airily dismissed as unsubstantiated nonsense.

I see this post has just appeared, from someone who is presumably much closer to the club than I am.

Ed001's Note - (first part deleted) A certain Italian Technical Director is very much on the verge of removal right now, I am told. Seems odd to back Baldini over AVB and now turn on him, but it seems he is wearing out his welcome with his unwillingness to allow someone else to pick the players to buy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed008's Note - Look at AVB's 1st season his signings and the squad he was building just missing out on Top 4 having been in those positions majority of the season just unlucky, 2nd season you then bring in Baldini who made the same mistakes at Roma previous to joining Spurs I don't know how he gets these jobs you can see some of the signings were right but did they FIT the managers system and how he wanted to play?
NO IMO.

I agree 100% KM.

Here's a question will Levy back Poch if we are in the bottom half of the table come March.?

I really hope this turns out for the better but I cannot help thinking we've been down this road before.

I hope we hit the ground running but I'm really not convinced on the signing or the potenial signings being named to date.
I feel Baldini needs to be shown the door & let the manager take control of the incoming & outgoing personel

As what I've seen on the pre-season tour of the US not overly impressed. the best player on the tour was Defoe. I know it's early days & changes don't happen over night I guess time will tell.

Agree2 Disagree1

Sorry Dr, but you must visit the opticians! The best player by far on the tour was Lamela! I know that there was still an awful lot of rubbish still playing, but hopefully these will be cleared out . I wish Mopo had something in writing from DL about transfers but ho hum!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry but hasn't Defoe left Spurs now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Davo

OK – Lamela looked good, I was being a little hard I guess…. But I want to see him in the premiership when he doesn't have time on the ball.

THFC4EVER – Yes Defoe has left I fail to see your point, But what I see of him he played well with his movement & runs off the ball pulling our back 4 all over the place. Which isn't too hard at the minute I might add, so what I really mean is that I wasn't really that impressed with the Tottenham players.

Spurs poll of the day 'is Daniel Levy a closet gooner'? Come on man. Levy might make a few mistakes but considering our stadium size and budget he is very good for us, 100% Tottenham.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

SKI
Its what some fans are saying tho
He was seen on hols with a lad wearing a gooner top
Search the net, sat by the pool with him

Agree1 Disagree1

Poll should be,
Is levy a closet tight arsed person!

Agree0 Disagree0

How can he be tight
He paid 26 million on soldado.17 on paulinho, 7 on chadli, 11 on erikson, 30 for lemela,
Last summer he spent 109.5 million.
would love to know does any spurs fan think they got value for money,
We have had some bad buys I agree,
But teams have spent that in summers and gone on, you went back a step
And i'm not aving a go,

Letters and numbers not your forte old boy but I thought business was?? We sold players to that value therefore Levy's net spend was nothing. Come on, that was Wenger's rhetoric for enough years, apparently it was a philosophy but he seems to have changed that all of a sudden doesn't he!?!

Agree0 Disagree0

We spent virtually nothing last year after all the outgoings, most notably bale. levy and baldini then went out and bought a load of players AVB didn't want. classic levy.

And how dodgy was the Lemela deal bearing in mind we paid way over the odds and baldini was previously working at roma ffs! backhander anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

Levy is also very good for us :)

Griezman. . After ed has given us a great detailed explanation regarding this player (thanks ed) this has left my blood boiling. .
WHY are we always going this. .
We sign a manager with great promise to hire their choice of player and let him down badly and then pay top money for the 2nd or 4th choice, that doesn't work.
A manager has a vision with ideas so needs the right player to master that. . So back him for god sake.
We are after sniderlan how many holding midfield players do we want at the club also jr a striker who is injured and can't undergo a medial. . Our transfer dealings are a total joke and so is baldini and levy the sooner they go the better.
Question ed:
Are we struggling to sell the likes of naughton, Dawson etc because we need to replace them with British players as we need a certain amount to start the season
