I think that Jack Butland would be a better option than Hugo Lloris. He is just 20 years old and could be our number 1 for the next 15 years, transfer fee of around £6m - £8m should get him. His wages would be a lot less than the current France captains.

I do like Butland but you win nothing with a 20 year old keeper. Lloris for me

Steed not that I'm saying butland is as good as hart but how old was hart when he was playing EPL ? {Ed003's Note - Not sure but he made his debut for England at 21}
Agree1

Yeah but Hart was somewhat of a liability when he first started playing in the EPL. Don't get me wrong he's a world class keeper now but it's taken time to get to that standard, which is the point Steed is making about Butland.

We should try and get the Birmingham gk coach...did wonders with hart when he was on loan there and has done the same with butland {Ed003's Note - Butland does look very good for his age,the praise for Hart should go to the Shrewsbury scout/coach all Brum did was loan him}

Every year we go through this with our transfer activity linked with everyone sigh hardly anyone -why is it that every transfer in or out seems to take a lifetime before we commit - only 3 weeks to kick off and we only have one striker and no movement in addressing the useual weaknesses left back and wide right with lennon injury prone + strikers
living in hope of a few coming in and quick

Um, we have adressed lb? naughton coming back can play both sides of defence, jan can play at lb (and does for belgium) and we've just signed fryers from man u. As for lennon cover, looks like gio may be given a chance under avb. The striker apathy is annoying, but the situation isn't as bad as you expect

Completley agree .. Above poster ....
We don't need winger cover as Gio will be played ...
Lb,CBS,rbs,Lm,rm, or Lw/Rw all
Covered we need
One to replace modric although that man could be the huddlefro and 2 strikers our
Position is better than a lot make
Out to be .... Oh and a younger

avb is not panicing ref strikers, vdv,dos santos,defoe kane is plenty as he plans to play a spanish style of football and as we know they had no striker in the euros. the squad is too big and levy is insistant that youth takes a big part.

I hope you are wrong. We can expect top 8 if your silly point is correct.
We will sign a striker or 2. When, I don't know. Who, I don't know.

Gutted.....why did Oscar join the chavs.
One reason, money. Not a spurs type of player. The ade situation shows you that. By the way, when Oscar was asked where you finished in the prem last season, he didn't know. Great signing mate, I can see him kissing the badge now. I can't wait till it all blows up in your faces. It's coming.

And only one reason Sigurdson joined Spurs instead of Brendan - not a Spurs type of player then?

Who cares if he didn't know where we finished but am sure as hell bet he knew that we won the biggest club competition in the world! U boys keep posting players on here that u can only dream off where us boys cam attract the top talent across the world! Quite surprised u pulled of the signings of Ryan nelson and Luis saha! Have a good season lily s***e!

AVB seeming to suggest he will only buy one striker in this window, which seems odd when you consider we only have Defoe (who doesn't really suit the system) and two youth team prospects in Kane and Coulibally. Surely if we are only going to bring in one we should look to push the boat out. Rather than squabbling over wages with Adebayor, why not just activate Huntelaar's £17 mil release clause, and see if he wants to come.

So it was Rory Delap who crunched Big Led on his debut and left him crippled his whole career. Secret Gooner?

what is it with charlie [i've been a massive failure at liverpool] adam?
nearly broke bales leg at the lane with a neanderthal tackle,then tries to repeat it in usa today,in a frigging friendly.
i hope sandro and parker remember this coward.

So you insult him for doing that tackle then encourage your players to do the same thing, that makes sense.

Insult him?
so attacking someone from the rear isnt cowardly?
he should be disgusted with himself for that "tackle" in a pre season friendly.
as for encouraging our midfiield enfourcers to do the same thing?where did i say that?
i simply stated that i hope they remember this average midfielder next time they play. {Ed003's Note - It was a normal late/snide tackle that goes on in every game every week,the problem is that hypercondriac Bale has made a meal of it,I believe a scraped knee is coming up next game :-O }
Agree1
Disagree0
You strongly imply it by saying I hope they remember him like you want them to hit him not that he is average. We all know he isn't the best but all it was, was a late tackle. Bale just complains if someone touches him and he falls.
