OK so now it seems HR is not going to be England manager, does that mean we all love him again? Lol! Joking aside where does that leave us? A manager who thought he was going to leave? Players who were unsure about there futures? What next? Fellow yods what do you think? AVHG, Big Dickey - not interested in your delightful thoughts thank you.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Levy has a choice to make either stick with hr hope not two semis one final bad signings or go for a manager who knows tactics to take us to the next level bet hr feels a right twit if we have to put up with him let him talk less get decent players in and just hope he remembers the season does not fiish at xmas

Agree0 Disagree1

4th 5th and this year who knows maybe even 3rd lets not knock harry he has done a job that many others failed at. Joll got sack despite successive 5th places best if we dont make same mistake again.

With Hodgson the England manager elect I would imagine it means one of 3 things for us:
1. We qualify for champs league, HR stays on with a big budget and attempts to go again.
2. We don't qualify and Levy gets rid of HR with the long term view in mind.
3. Either way, HR resigns and possibly retires; stories of exhaustion, probably caused by court case, are in some of the papers.

great news,spuds fans!

looks like its going to be roy hodgson leading england into the euros.

a wise choice.

the man has integrity, dignity,is not a media whore and has good international experience (and he probably knows how to use phones and computers)

which leaves you lot stuck with the man you used to love not too long ago but now hate with a passion....the man who, despite not knowing how to send a text or an email, took a very poor team with no history and not 1 title for 51 (FIFTY ONE!) years from relegation battlers into the champions league, then an fa cup semi and within a sniff of champions league qualification again.

dear oh dear

poor old spuds and their delusions of grandeur....
get mourinho,we are in talks with hulk, get pep...etc etc....you will be lucky to get brendan rodgers or david moyes as they will be taking a step backwards to manage your 'club'

best scenario for this season:
you lot finish 4th then sit back and watch chelsea win the champions league, that would be totally hilarious.

LMAO

a VERY happy gooner

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I still find it highly laughable how you think you can talk and run your mouth when and it's feasible ..... We win the remainder games you lose one we go third ...... Lots of stuff can still happen until then maybe be quiet and gloat after the season is over or else youll look like a huge one
Maybe too late

What how you look now?

Haha stupid spud fans 4th this year but chelsea to win champions league just what use deserve....NOTHING!!

BREAKING NEWS Roy Hodgson to talking to F.A....

29 Apr 2012 20:07:43
Just looked at the latest betting odds on our next manager, and they have been slashed down from 25/1 to now at 7/1 on Roberto Martinez.
(source p/power)

David Moyes- 2/1
Brendan Rodgers- 11/4
Roberto Martinez- 7/1

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I placed a bet, at the start of the season, for Moyes to be next Spurs manager at 33-1! only stuck a fiver on it though.

Would rather have Mourinho, I have £15 at 25-1.

BREAKING NEWS Roy Hodgson to talking to F.A....

Believable0 Unbelievable0

After all this s##t we have had for the past few months surely not?

Or simply a ploy by the FA to get Levy to accept a much lower compensation package?

Agree0 Disagree1

I think it's just a game the fa are playing to give themselves greater bargaining power when it comes to talking to Levy (if they haven't already).
I still expect Harry to be the next England manager, infact I would be very surprised if it wasn't.

Flippit.

Agree2 Disagree2

Fully agree with Flippit. I do not believe 1 minute that Roy is the first choice. After all the press and Board members wanting Harry, suddenly they change their mind? Harry had the power to ask what he wants, if they say, Here are our demands, if not, then Roy would love to take it, then the FA have leverage.

Still hoping to Hear that Hodson decides he hasn't got the backing of the fans, so turns down the fa's offer......

I reckon some one else picked the team today . About time that Sandro was given the DM role with Modders alongside . This is how we should play , Sandro is awesome when Parker isnt there . Please del boy , dont change it back !! Apart from not being able to hit the target , Bale playing every where but on the left like he should , we played much better . Oh and a message for Arry , whats the f****ng use of sending on the subs when theres 8 mins and 2 mins left . You might be leaving the club , ( hopefully ) but I for one do not want Defoe to leave , and the way you are treating him means that come the end of the season he will want out !!
Davo

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Id be happy to see Defoe leave with 'arry. He doesnt score enough goals, complains when he doesnt play then gets 90mins against QPR and is utter sh*te and would not get into any of the other top 6 sides ( possibly Newcastle if they didnt have Ba and Cisse ) If we are to be ambitious, we need better strikers. Defoe would be great at a load of other sides that merely hope for Europa league Football but, no way, is he Champions league quality

..Oh, the rest of your post was 100% spot on.

Sandro was incredible today. Parker tends to slow the game down and make runs with the ball that constantly come to nothing. Hes been a great player for us but hes played far to much and is in need of a huge rest. Its time for our future Captain Sandro to shine. Alongside Modric today he was unstoppble. Everything he did was to perfection.
Sandro and Moders for the rest of the season!

Agree5 Disagree0

Super Y*d, Thats a little harsh considering hes our top goal scorer. How would you feel if you were scoring and playing well, all of a sudden dropped for 5 games.

I don't think hes the greatest striker but definately someone to have in your squad.

IIRC, has has only scored 10 league goals this season. That may be a reason why he is overlooked when the team is picked. He has never been consistent has he. He will score a hattrick in one game then not score for the next three. As a squad player? Ive got no problems with that but as a first choice striker for a club that wants to finish top four ( at the very least) and wants to have a good run in Champions league football, I dont think he is consistent enough. It may be harsh to suggest that, perhaps, it wouldnt be a bad idea to let him leave but, Im sure, the money we could get for him would go towards a better striker, right?
Super Y*d

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep , but he wouldnt want be a squad player . I dont think he is the best , but can we afford to change two strikers ? I would let Ade go without blinking , not worth the money he wants at all ! Replace him with a top class forward . My gripe about Defoe is that Arry goes on about how good he is , puts him on the bench , and gives him 2 mins . No player , Messi apart , is going to make an impact in 2 mins . Arry cannot ever get the subs right , its either too little or not at all with him !!
Davo

Agree0 Disagree0

Fully agree with the first post. Sandro played excellent, and reminded me of Roy Keane and we need a Roy in midfield. Scott is excellent and Sandro would be a perfect replacement.

Rose played well but was not tested with any defensive duties so jury still out on that one.

Ade played well today, he maybe on a lot, but maybe he will take a paycut to join us...

I like Defoe but he really needs more time than 8 minutes. Why Harry waits till 82 minutes is beyond me. Fans want to see more of Defoe and Gio!

Dell Boy is sickening. Why does he have to say that Modders might leave. Surely he should say Modric is under a long term contract with THFC and not say anything else. It sounds as if he is actually inviting Modders to leave. i do not hear any other top manager surmising to the media that their best players may leave. Levy must take some of the blame in not forbidding the mug to be giving all these media interviews. If I was Modders/Bale I would want away from a club who allow their manager to behave like a headless chicken. Dell Boy just proves the old saying "Pay peanuts, get monkeys". He is now saying he may not get the England job (FA are favouring Hodgson) I sincerely hope he is wrong.
