Why have we not been linked with Guardiola, he's available and we are looking, or is AVB just a smoke screen for Guardiola, would make a bit of sense for Bale to be convinced to sign a contract extension with the arrival of a big name manager!

Just a thought......

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Guardiola left barca for a break. Why on earth would he leave the best team in the world for us?

I suggest that you stop thinking before you do yourself an injury.

Agree1 Disagree0

Spurs Lad - He accomplished everything he can at Barca. He built them into a strong force that play the best football in the world. His work there was done.

Maybe hes looking to build a team from scratch elsewhere.

Just a thought though lol

With avb's connection to porto, and his seemingly inevitable appointment as manager, surely joao moutinho must be the top target to replace modric. Sigurdsson looks a VDV replacement to me, I'd take the cash for modric (30-35 mil) and spend 25 mil on moutinho and the 10 mil on vertonghen. Then sell vdv and use that 12 odd mil on sigurdsson. With whats left from that we need 2 forwards and potentially another winger, although i'd like to see pienaar and dos santos given oppurtunities in avbs 4-3-3 formation. Could also have a look around for a GK as the long term replacement for friedel.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

There is no money left after your scenario, and we still need 2 forwards, a winger and a GK. Please will you be our new manager? Pretty Please...

I am happy with our team for next season. i feel we stand a better chance than arsenal, liverpool and newcastle (as long as we keep vdv and bale and perhaps modders). However we do need a new striker and centre back.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Ha you have no way a better squad than arsenal! You need to sign strikers and you're not even linked with any, besides damioua (spelling) who won't go. Us gooners fear van persie will leave, but at least we're replacing him, albeit they are in "little" leagues.

Clock end gooner

Agree4 Disagree1

Listen clock end gooner we will sign centre back strikers and attacking midfielder without rvp you will struggle lets compare squads at end of transfer window coys mattyido

Clock end gooner - Come back at the end of next season and repeat those words.

Spurs fans every year say to Arsenal we will see at the end of the season! Yet come the end of the year Arsenal always finish above you.
Everyone slags off Arsenal saying you will lose such and such but yet they dont seem to be affected or do any worse the next season.
Seriously when was the last time spurs finished above Arsenal? Honestly I dont know and if your not blaming it on dodgy pasties its the FA for not announcing the new manager quick enough!

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh quick please remind me how many goals podolski scored in euro's? gooners have a new chamakh and gervinho there..a real DUD!! RVP on his way..Gooners will slip firther down the table

Agree0 Disagree3

Why compare squads at the end of the season, just compare league positions. That's what you boys have been doing wrong for sooooooo long.
Paul, Belfast {Ed005's Note - Very true.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Think Podolski scored as many as VDV

Modders Transfer Good or Bad for Spurs.
Nari is supposed to be a good player and wants to play football this seems a strange comment that he doesn't want to be part of the transfer to Spurs, If Modric lands up at R.M then that is another midfielder for them to select from and also puts in lower down the list of preferred players unless they are going to transfer Diarra or Alonso then he will not play many games this coming season so why not leave and prove that you are better than those that have replaced you or is it all about money, being only 23 he has lots of time to earn big bucks for his retirement or is a possible £70k aweek not enough to tempt him.
Just seen on Sky that Jordan and Bond have gone no news on Allen who was tere prior to H.R arriving and hopefully there when the new maqn comes in.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Heard diarra going to csk moscow could be wrong about the team defo read something about transferring out that way {Ed002's Note - Anzhi made a very significant offer for Diarra and Roma could not realise their interest although the player was open to a move to Rome. This leaves Spartak Moscow, who have an offer on the table, or Galatasaray as the likely destination for him unless an offer comes from PSG or, possibly, Spurs.}

so spurs are in crisis apparentley gonna lose bale, modric, walker vdv as a result of harry going. Well the croation sulker was going anyway bale just signed new deal vdv could go either way prob more likely to leave under harry as aint happy always being subbed and walker aint going nowhere so noone is leaving as result of harry going levy aint stupid and bale could have waited to sign new deal or double/triple his money somewhere else so bale must be happy with levys plans for the coming season coys mattyido

I have heard there is interest from spurs to buy Forlan and Affellay. Can anyone verify this or is it just another rumour. If it is true i would be glad to see Affellay but not sure about forlan; isnt he a bit old.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Take both. Quality players need a mix of youth and experience.

I have a quick question for spurs fans that may have been addressed before in great detail but I haven't kept track off this page as I am not a fan but I will be honest and admit I like watching spurs play when they are playing well, ie first part of last season.
Now my question to you is can you see Bale staying as a LW or can you see him adapting a more defensive role in your side. I know Harry and another top manager/player awhile back said Bale's best position would be at left back and from a neutral view point I tend to agree. When I have seen him play and he has not performed it is because teams limit the space he can run in to and double mark him. However if he was playing at left back that could not happen as long as you have a good winger ahead of him. I think signing Pienaar and trying to get Hazard that possibly Harry was trying to start trying to push Bale back. I am not sure if that is true. Now I know he didnt start off at LW and he didn't perform well at LB but maybe he will have become better as he has matured. He is quick enough, strong enough, he is tall so won't get beaten by a man at the back post for height, all he would need work on is his positional play.
Would like to know Spurs fans opinions... Do you think Bale might eventually become a left back? Thanks
The Red Manc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I must admit i think Bale was more effective as a LB aswell, he had more of a run at the defenders and the midfielder in front of him at the time drew the second defender away. It will be interesting to see how he is used next season with the new manager in place. I would also like to say its nice to see him committing to a new contract. yod ARMY

Agree0 Disagree0

The pienaar point is definitely valid; when we first signed pienaar, his first game was newcastle away and bale played lb. Unfortunately, Bale got injured early on and it never worked out. Funny to think that had Bale not got injured that day pienaar may have been a huge success at spurs. Ask any everton fan and they'll tell you the baines/pienaar partnership is the staple of their success, so just imagine what Bale and Pienaar could've done together.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks to the two replies. I assume that those that didn't post are all believers in the fact that Bale should be kept as a LW.

Arsenal Fan here,

As much as I hate Tottenham (as expected),
it was good to see Gareth Bale signing a new contract at Spurs.
It was refreshing to see a player of such quality stick to his club, because we all know that he could be at bigger clubs and lured away by money but its good to see loyalty in players, regardless of which club they play for.

Nick.

P.S. Villas-Boas would be good for you guys, I've always admired his coaching, Chelsea were far too impatient with him because he had a long term plan for the club which would've secured long term success, hopefully for you guys he will do that with Tottenham.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The way I see Arsenal and Spurs Operate the same way within boundaries, A way a club should be run, The fluent style of play teams like chelsea are trying to replicate by buying attack mined players, but they don't have the manager to implicate this, whereas like wenger and AVB, this is how they set up, I think it was a big mistake on chelsea's part dismissing him so quickly, then again it's player power at it's best, fair enough they won the champions league some would dismiss it as a poor way of winning it myself included, also I'm sure RDM has fun handing out the oranges why Terry and Lampard give the team talk. I seriously think he will get found out this season. By the way I'm not bitter about no champions league we dropped form and in no way shape or form did we deserve it over anyone else.

Agree1 Disagree1

Terrible sacking AVB then going on to win FA cup and Champions league hope our clubs don't make such stupid decisions.

Agree1 Disagree0

But with the luck Chelsea had, any team would of won the fa cup and CL or are chelski the best team in Europe.
I think not. Get back in the real world ,
Just like when Greece and Denmark won the euros, they weren't the best team but had all the luck on there side.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think it was a terrible decision sacking AVB. He has a more points per game ratio than RDM. They where closer to top 4 when AVB was in charge and they where obviously still in cup comps.
I say, run to bookies now, RDM to be first manager out is nailed on.
Chelski stupid owner sacked ancelloti and mourinho. Says it all.
No manager can survive at chelski, ever, while abromovic is there

Agree3 Disagree0

We will see this season how good chelsea think they are. I think you will play boring football again hence you wont be to T.V much and like the last poster said, Your team had a lot of luck.

Agree0 Disagree1

Chelsea didn't have luck they used tactics that won them the trophies, they came through 19 games to win champions league and 6 matches (7 including replays) including a 5-1 victory to you lot of losers to win fa cup. {Ed004's Note - I am sorry but to say Chelsea didn't have luck is an absolute joke what games were you watching? However, I believe you make your own luck and fair play to Chelsea they done well}

Agree1 Disagree0

Chelsea will be playing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on European nights and not on Spursdays because they got rid off the manager that the Spuds want. HAHA

Agree1 Disagree0

I was watching the games in which Chelsea won two trophies Ed004 and you!

Agree0 Disagree0

Greece weren't lucky, they worked hard and won it, they beat some quality teams to win it.
Whether it was 1-0 or 3-0, a win is a win and thats how Greece won it.
Nick.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea. the league wont change much next season utd or city to win spurs and arsenal battle for 3rd or 4th and you will be competing for top 6 again only difference being you wont fluke champions league again

Hey Spuds, congratulations on AVB, he may sign great wonderful strikers such as Romelu Lukaku for 20 million or an amazing strong midfielder like Raul Meireles for 13 million. Maybe, if you're lucky, you will get world class players such as Oriel Romeu. I'm really jealous that you may spend your transfer budget wisely. Also extremely scared that you're going to outplay the whole of the EPL with amazing signings like Sigurdsson for 10 mil and 70k per week. Please... don't do it to the rest of the world!!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Alot of jealousy going on here. You must feel really bad about not supporting a proper team
Now hurry up, you gonna miss your school bus

AVB is a great mid table manager. At least you won't get relegated next season, now that's a positive!

Whats a matter? don't like the fact that spurs are now becoming a top 4 club and loserpool are now a mid-table club! it must be painfull.
