I'm getting really fed up of people who are already slating AVB before he has even had a chance to shape a team.

Now don't get me wrong, I liked HR, he was a good man manager but he was clueless when it came to tactics.

AVB though has inherited a squad that has just been through a huge upheaval, with many old players leaving, many new players joining, a total change in the backroom staff, a new training ground - it is no surprise that they are taking a while to adjust to a new system and new tactics.

As for AVBs tactics, I really don't understand why people are condemning them. He has been experimenting and trying different things to get the best out of this new squad in different situations - and guess what, not everything he has tried has worked straight away. But he has consistently managed to correctly assess the situation and make the necessary changes to get a result from the game. This is a sign of a great manager.

Mark my words: bad luck aside, when this team settles into a rhythm, starts looking like a real team, starts getting used to the new system, and AVB figures out the best way to approach each game tactically with his new squad, we will be challenging for the title!

This is a long-term project folks. Exciting times ahead!
