Use our rumours form to send us spurs transfer rumours.

this is the worst team I have seen. what has happened to lennon too many cigars me thinks can't take a player on these days.lemela will never cut it at spurs and should be sold.ade is the worst striker at the club he must be laughing the money that boys on.the defence is a joke thank god we have a world class goalie at the moment because it won't be long before he does the off.weakness all round no guts and no pride in the shirt.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Absolutely. Compare this team to Harry's team. The only quality players are Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen & Eriksen. Walker is injured & Vertonghen won't sign a contract extension and clearly wants out.
I can only see a mid-table finish, with the big four, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal & Man U ahead of us, as well as Liverpool, Everton, Southampton & West Ham. That leaves us in 9th position. Our recent signings have been dire and other players look stale.

Agree1 Disagree0

Will be lucky to get 9th! Can see Swansea, Hull, Stoke and Newcastle all finishing above us . We need to give Mopo a chance though but we need to clear out ;
Lennon, Townsend, Ade, Naughton, Chiriches, Kaboul, Rose, Dembele, Paulinho, Chadli, Bentaleb!
Playing for their places ;
Verts, Capoue, Soldado, Lamela
Why did we buy but don't play him ; Stambouli ( in fact who is he? )
Get rid of Baldini, and let Mopo have the money he needs to buy his players!
Whilst I am having another moan, I am wondering if Mopo has any balls? Surely he wouldn't have signed on if he didn't have any say in the transfers or hadn't demanded a decent transfer kitty . So Mopo, grow some balls, tell Levy who YOU want as players and if the answer is no, tell Levy to stick it up his A**e! Let him try to find someone else who will be his little a**e lick!

Agree0 Disagree2

Out of 13 signings under Baldini, there is not one stand out success . The best we have is Eriksen probably followed by Dier who is playing out of position in his first season playing in the english leagues and running on an empty tank it appears with little hope of a rest until one of the Kyles returns.

In any other job if Baldini produced those results for the investment made he would be terminated.

We bid for Depay, Schnderlin and Mane but missed out obviously. These are the type of players wanted to play his system. We missed out we will try again.

Is it just me or is this the worst team we have had since we were relegated back in the 70's?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

The good news is Burnley and QPR will likely take 2 of the 3 spots this season .

We have had far worse teams than our current one.

Agree0 Disagree0

We've had worse players, but not necessarily many worse teams. This group is unbalanced and uncommitted. There is no way the supposed talent in this squad should loose at home to WBA and Newcastle.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - The talent is there no denying that Lloris, Vertonghen, Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado problem for me lies in management and the training as some of these players are vastly under performing up to coaches to get them playing their game.

Like the past three managers have all been no good?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed008's Note - I thought AVB did a great job just the signings in his 2nd season weren't the players needed despite their talent on the pitch they didn't fit into the system..
What's the problem here? Levy? Baldini? Pochettino?

27 Oct 2014 22:28:53
Pochettino doesn't seem to have a plan b and neither did Avb and I think its down to these coaches obsessed with playing their 'systems'. They don't seem to be flexible and do or change an obvious problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

LLoris is the only one that consistently shows up in PL games. Verts looks like he is going through the motions, the others have not shown an ability to perform in the PL. Eriksen gives us hope, then goes missing. Lamela I don't believe will make it and Soldado just can't buy a goal, but then he doesn't get much time on the field either.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can not have gone though as many managers as we have over the past 12 years without there being an underlying issue with the Hierarchy as Spurs!

How many other teams have had the Manager & Player turn over we have had in the past 12 years?

For me, there are issues with Baldini and Levy.

Baldini just is not working, I can understand the sense of the club wanting somebody in his position for continuity at the Club if a manager moves on, but he just isn't working.

Levy, how many changes of manager since appointment? he can not continue to avoid the axe, ultimately the buck stops with him!! go!!

Lamela - still not producing in the PL, jury still out.
Naughton - not good enough for a top 6 prem team, end of.
Chiriches - not good enough, gives the ball away, no good in the air, gets bullied on the pitch.
Kabul - injury prone and no way near his previous status!
Paulinho - to slow with distribution.
Rose - getting better, but still not a top 6 team player!
Townsend - tunnel vision, no end product or unpredictability making him easy to play against.
Dembele - was expecting him to be the next best thing, not produced are injuries to blame?
Adebayor - two seasons too long at the Lane, lazy and needs to go.
Soldado - system doesn't suit him, great touches but we need a finisher and powerhouse.
Vertonghen - clearly wants to be away, sulky and a liability
Fazio - who! & what!

WE NEED A TOP CLASS CENTRE HALF AND A TOP CLASS FORWARD!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's more than a CB and a striker, we have no pace, no width, no team leader(s) on the field and no one capable of delivering a ball into the opponents box either in open play or dead ball situation on a consistent basis.

What we do have is a surplus of midfield players that want to play in the middle and are not good enough for the top half of the PL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yellow-Card,

The width can be resolved playing the right players on the right sides!

Pace, I agree to an extent, Gazza wasnt the fastest player in the world.

Leaders, totally agree, we have lacked leaders for as long as I can remember!

Once Erikson is not on the pitch, we have NOBODY who can deliver a quality dead ball!

totally agree with the surplus of midfielders that are not good enough, but so are the majority of our central defenders and strikers.

I do think we need some stability in our manager, we need to get behind him!

Edd008's note earlier asking where the problem is: Levy? Baldini? Pochettino? - For me its the first two. again, how many managers and player has our team been through over the past 12 years! time for stability in a manager.

Custard pie Baldini, and although Levy has installed financial stability in the club, BACK YOUR MANAGER!

When you back a manager and purchase a player for your manager that you deem may be over priced, you purchase what your manager requires to fit into a system you employed him to do, albeit maybe loosing a little money!

When you purchase a player in replace of that initial intended player and thus saving money initially, not only do you loose what the deemed overprice player was in the managers system, but you also increase the risk of:

1, that replaced player working and developing into the managers system
2, failing the system - intended to create success
3, oh and money wasted - Bale £100m

Its starting to scare me when as fans we are calling for Kane to start. just shows how bad our other strikers really are.

So sick of our beloved team going through this process each year!

Keep expecting THIS to be our year, only to fall from grace yet again!!

Guys and fellow Spurs
You have to stop beating yourselves up like this every week.

Facts

1 Daniel Levy will never resign. The owner wants the club sold he has had enough and not interested in the Club. Their plan was to build the Stadium and get rid but that is now delayed so how can we possibly second guess their strategy except to be sure of one thing.it does not involve spending substantial money on players
2. We spent the Bale money on frankly a bunch of 2nd rate players', the money was squandered most likely by Baldini but we will never know. Net balance in that seasons transfer window virtually Nil. This season ditto. And made worse by the fact that the one potential attacking playmaker we had Sigurdsson we sold back to Swansea!Neither AVB nor Sherwood gave him the proper run he needed.
3. On our day, if they turn up with the right frame of mind we are capable of giving 90% of the Prem a game but the plain facts are that this squad is ill balanced lacks flair and no genuine pace.
4 We are stuck with this Coach, sacking another coach will get us nowhere, these players are simply not up for it or most of them. My gut feeling is that Baldini was behind these buys so of course he should go but that is up to Levy what is certain is that the only chance we have of avoiding a mediocre future in the short term is for Levy to back the manager and let him try and buy the players he wants
5 It must be crystal clear that no team in the Premiership is interested in any one of our squad bar Lloris, Kane and likely Mason, the others will never fetch the money that Levy paid out and Levy being lecy cannot come to terms with that, when what he should do is get rid at any price just to clear the decks
6 If it were my call, I would get ALL our very promising talent back off Loan and ship this lot out. At least the youngsters might show a bit of passion.
7 What is a major concern is that whatever is happening on the training ground is not translated on the pitch. I keep reading about the fitness regime etc etc. Let me tell you Spurs Fans if you thought 5-1 was a fair result think on. Asteris were quicker, faster and wanted it more, the difference was Lloris and an isolated moment of skill from Lamela, at 2 nil that game could have gone either way if Lloris had not made some smart saves.
7/8 I forget but one thing I can tell you fellow Spurs fans is this. IF YOU DON'T STOP BARRACKING AND BOOING THIS TEAM WILL DROP LIKE A STONE EVERYWEEK I HEAR OUR RUBBISH SUPPORT OUTSUNG AND CHEERED BY JUST ABOUT EVERY VISITING GROUP OF SUPPORTERS YOU WOULD THINK WE WERE PLAYING AWAY!!
EITHER GET BEHIND YOUR TEAM WHATEVER OR DO THEM AND ME A FAVOUR AND DON'T BOTHER COMING TO WHL.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I have to agree to your post as I think that there is a problem within this great club I have followed for over 41 years.I very really go to the Lane these days as the fans? do not support the team as the fans who go to away games do, our fans on the road I believe are the best in the league and if you look at the stats are best performances have come away from home in the last 3 seasons so that says everything for me and that is why I go to away games these days as the atmosphere at the Lane is so bad.I hope things change over the rest of the season but I am not holding my breath.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was saying to my mate to give some of the youngsters a chance,

We have far too many players who do not want to play for the club and the fans. They are playing for moves to different clubs or for their wages

Bring in Velkovic at the back Pritchard to name a few who have been proven youngsters at a lower level.

Start Kane week in week out. He is the best we have and at least he has the right ethic and will score goals.

I didn't want to see dawson stay but at least players like him and holtby had heart and played for the club.
