Bale - Hero or Villain? Regardless of if he stays or goes, how do people feel about him currently?
Villian - wants away from Spurs, holidays in Spain, no commitment, no comments direct to the press, go and hope you fail etc.
or
Hero - Everything he has done before - especially his goals last year, the fact HE has not said anything offically to the press, go with our thanks or stay and make the team better.

For me, he's far more hero than vilian and it just seems like the press making up story after story about how he feels adn what he's thinking yet with zero fact. RM have been naughty, realised they were over the top and have stepped back up until the shirt issue and the podium. Levy etc just said 'not for sale - unless silly money' (not a quote!), as they clearly would rather he stayed.

All seems like a farse. Suarez saga went quiet once Liverpool made it clear he would stay and Arsenal put in that stupid bid - wonder if RM have caused the same effect but the press just can't leave it?

Any thoughts or should we just concentrate on any new players we would love to see?

Hero gave his all last season, common knowledge in his home town that he'd talked of his dream of playing for Madrid, deserves to just hope ego's in that team don't turn it into a nightmare

Agree0 Disagree0

Should be hero, but now! I will always be grateful for what he did as a player, and for what his fee has allowed us to do, but he has turned into a pompous arse . Not taking into account what the papers are saying at all because most of its crap, Bale is still a let down and shouldn't be classed as a Tottenham great! His contract is with Spurs, and he is well paid for that . To not turn up at a game, whether due to play or not, is not on . He should have been there to support his fellow team members, and the fans, who have stuck by him through good times and bad! Yes, persist with your transfer, best of luck with that, but don't s**t on your supporters like you have!
Never been a Rooney lover but is this how he reacted? Once again, a player worshipped by youngsters all over acts like a spoilt brat because he can't get what he wants when he wants, a brilliant example to our young sports stars! People who know him go on about him being a nice quiet easy going person, well it certainly looks a lot different now . Still he will go, pick up his large wages, his percentage of a transfer fee he doesn't deserve, and then he will probably get paid by a newspaper for his story about how upset he is about it ending like this, how he had to keep quiet about it all, and all the sob stories you can think of . Me, I couldn't give a toss!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit of both I feel . I think he could have waited one more season and with him in this team we would have been very serious contenders for the top spot . Good luck to the guy but part of me will wonder why he had to go now .

This morning - Bale no show for training and is 'Angry & Frustrated'
This afternoon - Bale pictured arriving at training and agent says he is not 'Angry & Frustrated'

I tell you who are 'ANGRY & FRUSTRATED' us fans who want this Saga resolved. {Ed008's Note - Typical newspapers and Sky Sports News stirring it up to make a bit more money via betting..

Where did you see and hear this?

Guillem Balague who I think know's his stuff said deal was done on Wednesday Madrid told the press deal was done then a certain mr Ronaldo threw his toys out of the pram because Bale would be most expensive player ever so Madrid tried to change deal to less money but paid now instead of over years so Ronaldo would sign a new contract and still be the most expensive player ever, so if the press no this then Bale and agent no this as well so why would he be angry with Spurs as Levy didn't move the goalposts but now Levy p***ed off bigtime with Madrid!

Thankyou ed. I've been posting that exact response for a couple of days now.
That channel try to suck so many in just to line their own pockets.
As exciting as they have made it, they have turned deadline day into a major money making scheme.
Well done for posting your response ed.
Top stuff. {Ed008's Note -It's the truth people need to think about it more, many times this summer sky have said this club is interested in this player people bet on it when it's obvious that player won't go to that club. Same situation with Moutinho last summer deal was off by like 5-6pm but Sky said at like 9pm the deal has been revived and it would happen until a deal is completed don't believe what they say.

A few links coming through that the Lamela deal is almost signed, sealed and delivered, but after last week, I'll wait till I see him posing in the shirt, thanks all the same.

Personally, with his lowly goal return (even in a weak league like the Ukraine's), I think Chelski have done us a favour. If we had to screw up one of the deals, I'm glad it was Willian. Lamela, on the other hand, scored as many goals in a notoriously stifling league as Willian has in his past 5 or 6 seasons. He's also younger, quicker and doesn't remind me of a young Michael Jackson either, so I'm all in for Lamela.!

The next two rumours I've heard are very interesting and music to my ears - Eriksen from Ajax and Hernanes from Lazio. Two creative players and goalscorers to boot.

Apparently (love that word!), we're preparing a £12m for Eriksen, and Baldini is on the Hernanes case, so it will be interesting to see if there is any real mileage in either of those two. To get both would seem a tad optimistic, but either would be great IMO.

Just a thought anyway. BigBird72 COYS

Hi Eds,

Do you know if there's any truth in Bale refusing to train with Tottenham? Or is it more media BS? As it really doesn't seem like the sort of thing he'd do no matter how he's feeling about the RM move. {Ed002's Note - No idea. Sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im really hacked off with the bale saga, if he's got the hump let him put in a transfer request, i'm he is sulking ile help pack he's bags, good a player as he is NO player is bigger than thfc, when he looks at our progress over the next few seasons with hopefully many a trophy, and real go on to their next toy, hope he doesent regret his decisions. barb

Bale has contract with the Spurs, Madrids paying terms dire staring to think they have no money have a lot of hype and tittle tattle have a stage and shirts with bale on. Sounds as though Levys playing real hard ball good for him, great chairman and a very cheesed off one with Madrids arrogance who wouldn't be .stick it to em Daniel!. You have my backing .

Bale's odds have dropped from 1/66 to 1/7. That is a massive drop. Has Levy had enough of RM? Are we getting a new player this season that we all thought was gone?

Happy days at the lane.

I got on PSG at 80/1 yesterday. Here's hoping!

so here we go again! another day another twist in the Bale saga,

no deal confirmed, other bids in for him? maybe man u?

spurs saying they don't want to sell him,
Bale saying he will only leave for Madrid!
(all rumours and speculation of course)

i think myself that he will prob go to Madrid, but a part of me is still holding on to a little bit of hope that he will stay!

What do YOU think??

Perhaps the other bid rumor is Levy applying pressure on RM to get the deal done?

Sunderland fan here, anyone have any updates on Danny Rose, last I heard Bale has agreed to join Madrid with Coentrao as part of the deal, I don't think Rose would like to sit on the bench again this season as he has already stressed
Don't need to worry about Bale leaving, though you probably aren't anyways, your new signings have already shown that they have the mental and technical ability to make it work in the Prem, plus I can see 3 or 4 world class players signing for you, eg. Lamela
Good luck for Season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

From what I've heard Spurs are less keen on Coentrao coming in as part of the deal, I'll assume that's because AVB wants to give Rose a chance. If he is part of the deal then I can see Rose becoming available as he won't want to sit on the bench. Unfortunately, like us and the Bale situation all we can do is wait and see.
