The fact that Spurs are buying or in advanced talks with players when they dont even have a manager says alot about how the club is being run too me!!

Orginal poster makes a good point in that just about ever Spurs poster has wanted to have a laugh at other clubs, like Chelsea, who signed the likes of Hazzard, saying it was obvious whose signing he was.
Now you have Spurs signing players without a manager in situ so as is said in the posting says a lot about Spurs.

But the difference is at spurs DL signed the players as he always has.

Another difference is that Levy has normally consulted our coach before making decisions on transfers, unlike Abramovich. If we are going for these players we can only assume (a) Levy has had enough and wants to do things his way, or (b) Levy is working with Timmy S on potential targets.

Its claimed that DL always makes the signings . Isnt that as bad as what has been said about RA?
Of course DL is taking the lead and of course he will consult with TS but the point is that whoever the manager is these signings arent his.The reality is that the majority of top clubs now work like that.

Not sure what you're going on about to be honest. The majority of top clubs work like that? The only top club where the Chairman decides without consulting the coach is Chelsea. Man City? No. Utd? No. Arsenal? No. Liverpool? No. Madrid? No. All these teams make decisions based on the manager's style and preference.

For all we know DL could have a coach lined up already. It might even be TS. The fact that he makes the signings simply reflects that he's the guy that gets the calls and he is a better negotiator than most coaches. It doesn't mean the coach's opinion isn't taken into consideration and we've never bought without the coach's approval.

Long time fan here

Just wondering whether you guys are also worried about the signings we are rumoured to be lining up?
Vertonghen is decent but it seems like we are being linked with the same names as mid table clubs rather than the top clubs in europe.

I fear we may find next season quite tough with other teams strengthening and us losing a couple of players.

We have a decent squad of players all spurs are doing is adding! Vert was being linked to quite a few big clubs so not sure what your on about and sig is 22 and looks pretty decent! You don't have to be linked with big names to produce a great side! It's how there manages and how the team gels!

No Swansea was there 1st. And i don't see anything wrong with it, he has opted the better and bigger club.

Spurs Lad you need to learn what a big club is. Liverpool are one of two English clubs that are big. You rank below Newcastle in my eyes. Whilst Chelsea are drifting just above you and Arsenal above them. 3 years isn't much history is it you clown?

To the Liverpool fan. Just before I start I'm saying this in peace so plz don't take it the wrong way.
You Liverpool fans go by history and no doubt your club has 1 of the best in English football. To say Newcastle are bigger is just ridiculous because our history speaks for itself. First British club to win a European cup, first club in the 20th century to win the double and we wasn't even a professional club at the time and some of the best football played in English history. So please if your going to post on our forum show a bit more respect as I would for your team. (I appreciate that other spurs fans aren't showing your club respect like they should but don't fall to there level they ain't worth it)

I agree, I was being a bit sinister with the Newcastle comment but Tottenham are not as big as Liverpool and never will be.

Am now very worried about Big Jan coming to us , seems some real problems there. Would love to see siguardsonn at spurs quality player, with youth on his side. Worried by the fact that Levy and con have still not sorted out a manager and we are constantly being rumoured with midfielders, 1 position I would have thought we wouldn't need strengthening, WHEN modric goes then a quality play maker is a must , if he goes to Madrid I would only do a deal if Sahin is included. We still need 2 strikers and the only player to be constantly linked to us is Damino, who has basically turned us down!
On another transfer possiblity what about balzaretti, of Italy, quality left back who attacks like Walker is a quality defender to. Just a thought.

Ideally would love to see Big Jan, Balzaretti, Siggi, Sahin and any 1 from KJH, Llroenta (Spelling),, Higuain plus a cheeky bid for Daniel Sturridge

Whatever is going to happen I just it happens soon
I have always backed DL to have a plan up his sleeve but this is running on just a little to llong for my liking now

THFC4EVER - I too would love to sign sahin as a long term replacement for Luka Modric. He can pick a pass out of nothing and has a good eye for goal.

Oh nooo ajax defender jan vertoghen said he will pull the plug on the deal soon if theres still a hold up by the weekend :( :( great another one gone on us once again,great work levy!

a deal has been agreed its just ajax are not willing to pay him 15% of the fee which it says on his contract. He said that he will wait a year and go on a free if need be.

Ajax will have no choice but ot give in. Theres been no confirmation because the transfer window opens on the 1st of july.

Friday, spurs will have appointed a new manager.

Did anybody else think Vaclav Pilar of the Czech Republic looked like a great player in the Euros? Very tricky, kept and dribbled the ball past people in tight spaces, made and scored goals.
Apparently Wolfsburg bought him recently for less than £1m, it'd be worth a punt to see if they fancied doubling their money quickly. Harry was out there watching the games so maybe he.......ah, hang on, forgot we're managerless.
All while the Arse complete another new signing. Two new strikers and RVP not gone yet and we're down to Defoe and VDV, both of whom aren't sure to stay.
