Now I am getting as peeved about Bale's constant speculation as the next man, but there are things that make me think Levy WILL NOT sell him and one of those that is he has told AVB that he will not be sold.

Now we have all read AVB's statements saying he won't be sold/still going to be a tottenham player this season, so if Levy then sells Bale he is going to make Andre look like a right mug. therefore prompting AVB to leave. Can Levy afford to lose both Bale and AVB?

Reportedly Paulinho was also given assurances that Bale would be staying. So we now have the possibility of upsetting/losing 2 players and a manager.

And lastly, Marca and the Real Madrid scum. so reported and jumped on by every ****bag journo, Real have a contract ready for Bale to sign, but if that was so doesn't that mean that Bale has spoken to them about a contract and therefore RM have tapped up our player without tottenham allowing them to do so.

For me he's staying (at least for this season), Bring in the badly needed striker (s), and whoever else AVB has on his shopping list and we have an even better squad to go again this season.
Come on you Spurs!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Appreciate what your saying but I think if Bale has agreed terms with Madrid it's not because they've tapped him up but more likely we've given them permission to speak with him. Maybe we've agreed a fee in principle but are waiting for a couple of signings to come in first to soften the blow when he leaves. Saying all that I think there's nothing in any of the stories and he's a Spurs player till next year atleast.

Dzeko to spurs! Surely too good to be true. Then again he can't be too happy with the signings of Jovetic and Negredo after being down in the pecking order last season. Would love to know how much you people think it will take to get him? {Ed008's Note - £10-£15m?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would LOVE this to happen!

Flippit.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would of thought about 18ml but if City were willing to let him go at 10-15ml even with his wages there's a good deal there for someone. would make a lot more sense for the goons to move for him instead of suarez
Espur

£20m is the price being mentioned

Rumor says we offered 19m

Where r the reports saying we have bid for dzeko hope its true but can't find anything anywhere barb

Time for you to Man Up Mr Levy and you Mr Coach. Either sell him now or put a stop to the nonsense now. The money is no good to us at the end of the window. Either Tell Madrid its 100 mil by close of business Monday or do one end of. Stop behaving like two clowns with their heads in the sand. Real madrid are destroying our pre season so Man up and put a stop to it. Spurs fans do not deserve this. And by the way what in heavens name are we doing in Hong Kong anyway. that's how to get the best out of our pre season flying half way around the world to play on a heap of Mud total numpties

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mr coach? you fill you need to comment but don't even know are managers name? person

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he does as he used his name in the post below. Very strange post though.

Why has Mr Levy not lodged a formal complaint to UEFA against Real Madrid. Their behaviour is blatant tapping up a player under Contract by means of this newspaper Marca. It is a complete scandal and we are fools to allow it. This speculation will destroy our pre season, the whole squad is falling apart over this. Levy needs to act and act now. Either tell Madrid it is 100mil now in full and he's yours or get lost. No way can we sell our best player to Man U. This cannot be allowed to continue. If we have the money we can replace Bale with 3 or 4 world class players. One man does not make a team but there regardless Madrid are out of order and we should be on FIFAs case big time and using our own Press office and PR to flood the media with negative comment on their behaviour. Come on Levy and AVB time to man up and stop letting this rogue Club wipe their feet on us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Where do you get the info that our whole squad is falling apart over this?

Chris,

This is a news paper mate. Until it pops up on that gold ticket tape on tv's that Real Madrid have bid for Bale I wouldn't take anything from it, although I would like Levi to issue a statement himself to tv's.

I cannot see Bale being sold this season, next season most definitely even if we're in the Champions League, if we don't sign two world class strikers we've got no hope as other teams are strengthening big time.

We need Soldado plus another £20 million pound striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

No responce is the best way to deal with these people. old poker face won't lose out. we might not like him but he knows how to play the game. Levy will see this through if we do have to sell him (which I really really doubt) we would get absolute top dollar, and make madrid pay the price for their approach. say nothing bale, levy and avb we don't need to. equally fans stay calm we don't need to worry because its win win

why has ryan mason gone on loan to swindon? everytime I have seen him play he has done well

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because he's not good enough.

Simple as that.

Would everyone agree, that we need NOT 1 but 2 new Strikers.

What would happen If (Big If) we did sign Soldado (Which I hope to god we do) & he got injured 1st or 2nd game of the season we would then be left in limbo. I don't agree with playing Bale as a striker, As he's at his best when he's running at players & not with his back to goal, some might disagree but that my opinion.

Ed's. !

I dare say it. ! But I have to,

Is there any news on Damaio or have we just pulled away from the deal. ?

But. ! Surely we need 2 strikers, We need to off load Ade & Dempsey ASAP {Ed052's Note - I haven't heard anything}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We definitely need cover, I think we will play 1 up top and allow bale in centre to run at the goal. bale isn't a striker and hasn't trained as a specialised striker no doubt he would be good just behind soldado etc. but as you say what happens when and if he can't play. unfortunately we coannot rely on ade or jd even if they werwe fully fit. ba or cisse would be ideal cover and always there if we play two strikers as it stands opposition will know our formation as we would only have one (if we get one) good striker so he would inevitably be playing alone which I think avb likes

Hey DR-THFC,

Fully agree but apparently they are looking at lopez from lyon for something like 8 mil I forget as the second striker, who can also play on the left of a 433.
Wasn't prolific last season but scored 30 or something the season before in france, he is 30 though but is wanted as the back up.
Think we need to worry about getting the first one in though first lol which I hope will be soldado as I think he would be perfect for us.
I also think we will see much from from Dembele next season playng further up and if he takes on his man further up field, chances will come with bale soldado and chadli ahead.
Just my thoughts.

does anyone else think that selling van der vaart was a mistake as although bale made up for his goals we lost are creative edge in his first season 15 goals and 9 assist and next season 14 goals and 8 assist and then sold him this season just a thought

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No we sold him at the correct time

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish, had he stayed in England then he may not have had his personal probs so, based on football alone, he would have un-locked a few teams and scored some big goals far more than Dempsey did in my opinion. One more goal/win somewhere and there could've been £20-30m+ from Champions League revenue. Sold on the last day of the window and Moutinho was never going to happen - awful timing.

If tottenham don't sign or lose out to another club regarding soldado then something needs to be done regarding the chairman. I'm all for his policy on the wage cap and not paying silly money for average players but if we want to compete with the other top clubs we will need to spend a bit more. The club is run in the correct way but I do feel the blame lies with mr levy for not finishing in the top four. If we had invested in a new striker in January we would be reaping the riches of the champions league. I know that YouTube can make Gervinho look like Pele but I did just have a look at what exactly soldado can do and was massively impressed. To me he ticks every box, he's quick, can finish, can head and finds great positions. Reminds me of a nippier VDV. I know it remains to be seen if he can play in the prem but he definitely has potential.

Just found this news story:

"Gareth Bale has no interest in leaving Tottenham for Real Madrid this summer.

A close associate of Bale's has told London Evening Standard the player does not want to move to Spain because of the strong ties to his family.

Bale became a father for the first time last October and is believed to be happy living in the capital with his long-term girlfriend Emma Rhys-Jones.

He has admitted in the past that he likes to visit his family back in Wales whenever he gets time off.

It is one of the reasons why Bale is understood to be keen to stay at White Hart Lane for at least one more season"

There we go guys. Just a bit of confirmation to what we knew. He isn't going anywhere just yet!

It's critical we keep Bale for our own good but, the more publicly and privately blatant and firmer we are with Madrid (and ideally get Bale's squiggle on a new contract), the sooner they may turn their attention to Suarez and prevent the un-mentionables getting him and also weakening the Scousers.
Simmo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree we need to keep him this year. After that the kid deserves to play on a big big stage such as real madrid. if he waits till next year he will have done us proud as we have/are sthrengthening this season and with the monies from bales sale next year to really give a good squad in all positions so losing him wouldn't be the end of the world. however he may see our ambition and with his love/respect for avb sign a 150,000 pound deal to stay a little longer either way we will see

As much I would be sad to see GB leave but can we really turn down 85 million for him. Think what we could buy if DL will invest at back into the club. people say we are nothing without GB, but the team was about before him and will be around a lot longer. I would take the money and then buy 2-3 players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Jul 2013 09:32:49
Is it me or are we missing the point that real want bale for 85m and yet still owe a shed load for modric I believe. Ed could this be an issue and a stumbling block as Madrid like to pay over a number of years. How does it work?

ANT {Ed001's Note - they only have a limited number of years to pay, under the FFP ruling, 3 if I remember correctly. The problem is that Madrid and Barca don't seem to operate under the same rules other clubs do. It will certainly be an issue, I can't see Levy allowing them to buy another player with money left owing on a previous deal. Especially know Madrid have huge unpaid tax bills etc, the whole Spanish system on the verge of collapse, it would be a massive risk to accept a bid from them.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Could be why they have waited to off load Higuain. assuming that is an all cash up front deal which would seem unlikely.

in my opinion I think bale should go. The sort of money real are talking is just to good £70mill plus a player at left back. I would bite there hand off. then finalise soloado and astu.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok we want a quality left-back but Rose has performed ok in the Premier League and we seemed to pull all sorts of fast-one to get hold of Fryers so they must see something in him (?), he looked in great shape physically yesterday by the way.
We need a striker ON TOP of who we already have, not instead of so Soldado or somebody of equal quality is a must and has been for 2years. In that case you've replaced Bale with Chadli and Atsu. really? No thanks.
If we are going to sell Bale then I agree we should try to get a player (that's decent and who we actually need) plus as much cash as possible but, a big portion of that cash needs to be re-invested in players and I very much doubt it will be.
Even if Levy intended to spend it all on the squad, imagine negotiations when clubs know we have that cash. They'll bump-up prices even more, Levy will be aiming at £2m+ below a fair price to start with - we will never get any decent deals over-the-line and be weakened and short of depth yet again following the transfer window. I'm afraid, despite last year's finish, it could be argued that's the case for the past few years. While Dembele is a good player, our midfield and attack would've been far better with Modric and VDV still in it. Verts is quality and replaces Ledley (or Kaboul who missed all season) and Lloris is class but Brad hardly had a mare the year before did he.
We need Bale and the decent new signings to give us one more pot-shot at top four to be in a position to replace him with some class. The way everybody else spends and strengthens annually, this is probably last chance just because we'd have Bale and there's a manager merry-go-round.

Having Bale helps us attract other top players whilst we have not qualified for CL.

Thank you Neil Ashton, the first journo to tell the truth re Bale. Yes he's attracted to RM, who wouldn't be but he's happy to stay at Spurs for the near future. Let's get 1 thing straight Bales not going to stay with us for his entire career, you'd be foolish to think otherwise, but he ain't leaving this window!

If we don't sign a striker this transfers it will be embarrassing to be a Spurs fan. Fair play if Levy feels a player isn't worthy of investment, but you can't sit with an inferior cheque book waiting for that garunteed success when you know they will be snapped up for unmatchable oil money. If levy doesn't buy one we clearly lack champions league ambition in my eyes.

Good news for Spurs is at this present time, whilst they are refusing to sell Suarez unless its over 50 million and playing hardball, they aren't going to be chasing soldado at the moment.
