Dear ed,
i am a lifelong spurs fan and love reading this site for some good info and for a good laugh.i would like to comments on defoe i think he is a great player and harrys treatment of him this season has been shocking. rarely played from the start and over looked as first change for saha on many occasions yet he still hit 17 goals. my point is give him a run in the team and the boy will score, what do you guys think?
Move on from Defoe, he's not good enough for a team who challenges for 3rd and 4th. He did well for us when we were in competition for 5th 6th and 7th but the truth is he ain't good enough for any team that can finish top 4! Consider this would he get in either Manc teams? The Asspes? Chavski?
He's spot on for us... we will be challenging for Europa league next season the way things are going
Cheer up you miserable g*t, we finished 4th remember and should really have got 3rd, with good signings we're going to be a strong side next season!
Don't worry mate, defoe will stay. i agree, although i've had my doubts his goal per minute ratio is impressive. he's a good player. i think the biggest issue is how we fit him in the team. unfortunately it's not always possible to play expansive football that allows for him to get behind defenders, especially when teams lock up shop like so many did to us last season. a target man like adebayor fits in better because he has some physical presence for set pieces, for balls in from the wing and for when we are defending. defoe will put goals away all day when he's given the opportunity but he isn't allowed time on the ball against defensive or defensively solid teams.
