Always excuses when the better team wins. Truth is Spurs were in the game for not much more than 10mins. Chelsea were better from defence thru midfield to attack, and controlled the game nicely for like 80mins. Deserved win, fairplay.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Yes I didn't say you didn't win or fair for not winning this time around it was because of our unfortunate timing with injuries and bales child ....

We didn't mean it in the way of oh look a ghost goal .....

Agree3 Disagree1

Not sure what game the original poster was watching. Yes chavski were the better side over the 90mins and deserved to win. And i agree attacking wise will be a match for any team in the world right now, and forget all the talk of Hazard or Oscar (who are both awesome players) Mata is Chavski' answer to the likes of Messi or Ronaldo. The guy IMO is just about the best player around and with Ramirez and Obi Mikel (Who I didn't rate until yesterday) are the perfect foil for him. However Chavski defence is prob the worse it has been for a good few years, a better attacking team would have scored 4/5 against you yeterday. As would we if Cech had made a couple of very good saves. And as for Torres, well if I were a chavski fan I would be begging Roman to give him away, I don't think I have ever seen a player play with such little passion, he obviously dont wanna be there. He looks like Adebayor for us, sulky and misfiring. I think it would have been a different game if we had our full team out, but on the day chavski deserve the 3 points.

Agree2 Disagree2

Kinda agree with above
Cech was on form and did well

Mata ..... Why all the hype about Oscar and hazard ... Mata is underrated .... Even if he's thought highly of he is an excellent player unfortunately for us ....

The likes of hazard was kept quiet by walker who is off form this season so far ...

Not saying hazard is bad just maybe there was either too much hype surrounding him or he still needs adapting or walker was the right player for the job ....

Walker being off'form doesn't mean he's a bad player. Hazard having a quiet game doesn't mean he's bad either (2 goals and 8 assists in eight games!). Each player has his unique attributes. Oscar wins possession and detects the play: Hazard initiates runs and attacks plus 'that decisive pass'; Mata roams freely with trickery, collects the ball in pace frm the space created by the other two. Now the trio are an indispensible unit. It doesn't mata who does the job.

(no sarcasm intended) just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the game today. You boys started flat but definately got into the game and were probably a little unlucky to lose 4-2. I think every team will struggle to deal with our 3 attacking mids. All the best for the rest of the season, I think it will be a good one for you. It will either be you or arsenal for 4th and honestly dont care which one of you get it, but would like to see AVB succeed.

If Bale played it could've been a whole lot different!

Melbourne CFC

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Thanks Melbourne .... Not going to lie when I was outside the ground and we all were getting the news leaked out that bale wasnt playing and Dembele wasn't I kinda did fear we would lose .....
For once I would actually like to see
A full starting 11 spurs
Vs
A full starting 11 Chelsea ....
It always seems there are at least one or two injures every time we meet

Agree3 Disagree0

Thanks Melbourne,

I didn't think chelsea were 4-2 better.

Your 3 attacking mids, of Oscar, Hazard and Mata would give the best teams in the world problems. IMO Mata is just about the best there is at the moment. Its unfortunate you haven't got a Defoe type goalscorer because Torres is absolutely awful, I haven't seen such a despondant display fo many a year. I think if we had a full strength starting XI it could have been different. We were IMO missing a few players yesterday, If BAE were fit and at LB then Vertonghan (who with Mata was Man of the Match) would have played CB with Caulker and Gallas doesn't set up 2 of your goals. Or if Kaboul were fit, then we were missing Dembele who again IMO was a bigger miss than Bale yesterday given your 3 in the middle and I can't help thinking that if Lloris had played he would have saved the 1st goal, given that he is taller than Brad and more agile. but all in all a good game and the better team won.

Now that was CLASS.
Bas!cs.

Agree2 Disagree2

True comment there pinky, you beat us fair and square.
It's gonna be a long season fellow yidsters, only because, mid way thru the 2nd half, if we lead, then AVB changes our tactics.
We can complain bout this player not playing today and that player not playing, but if we go for a killer goal then I reckon we finish it off today.
We have conceded most of our goals in the last quarter, can't AVB not see those tactics don't work.

Agree3 Disagree2

Avb is a worry! he will never go and kill games off he will change things when u got a goal lead and sit on that!

Everyone including outsiders get off of avbs back for ****s sake ..... We are having a younger squad and a young manager we will learn and grow together
My Christ Man U was a good result
Then bales missis was cheeky enough to not keep bale jr from appearing
And Dembele injured
Tbh we are suffering with injuries again ....
When we actually get around to having a full contingent .... We will be a very powerful force indeed ....
As I said before we only needed Dembele and we woulda had that game .....
How can even the spurs Fans not agree hudd was rubbish Dempsey was rubbish and siggs was poor first half then ok .....
Because of key injuries
Fans of both teams were robbed of almost certainly a better quality of game ...
As it would have been nay on full strength vs full strength ....
I don't care who you are would you not prefer that to facing a depleted team ?

Whats up with gallas we could of won today if it wasnt for him

Believable4 Unbelievable3

If Levy dosn't open the checkbook in Jan,he has to go....We missed Llorente AND Mouthino....Come on,ffs.

Agree2 Disagree2

I have been saying for a year, that RDM is the luckiest manager I ave ever seen.
No bale or dembele today. Just his luck.
No lloris or ade today was AVB's fault totally.
I seriously thought we would win today but after seeing the starting line up, I didn't even bother watching it.
When his luck run out, RDM will be sacked.
In any case, we had a weak team today, we ran them close.
Our first home defeat, after leading, in 3 years.
Our first home defeat to a London team since 2007. so not all bad.
I'm reading all these chavs, on other sites, quoting '3 point Lane', bet they don't even remember the last time they won at the lane.
If AVB decides to pick the right team, then onward and upward I think.
COYS

Agree4 Disagree5

Lol chelsea were missinh terry & they played that mikel. plus probably 2 penalties should have been given,

Agree2 Disagree2

Actually you would have lost 4-1

Agree3 Disagree0

We were missing
Bale , Dembele , kaboul , assou ekotto
And Parker

And hudd has not had enough time for match fitness nor has Livermore or Adebayor

I was at the game the only thing I felt AvB did wrong was
Townsend not being on
I feel Townsend would have given a better balance and don't say he's unproven
And not good enough if you watched him play he would relish that opportunity and grab it with both hands I feel and would have performed well .....
We were hard done by with the bales missis being selfish and deciding to go into labour
If we had a full first 11 we would have been the first team to beat Chelsea this season
And terry missing ? Luiz for as much as he likes to maraude forward is still a very good cb ....
Tbh it wouldn't have made much of a difference

And penalties ? I seem to recall one penalty perhaps that could have been called because of Gallas however it would have been either or from where I was standing ...

The last goal was sloppy I hope walker gets ripped for it

But because of siggy having a poor first half and hudd not really being in the game we lost it from the word go .....

Not AvBs fault we don't have another able body to cover Dembele .....

Stop being hard on AvB except for not brining on Townsend

Chelsea fair play you managed to beat a severely depleted squad

Although I feel that would have been ours had we even just had Dembele in
Bear yid

Agree6 Disagree2

Why did AVB not pick lloris.
He had ablinder against Spain and, if we can keep him, he is our future. Just doesn't add up.

Agree2 Disagree2

AVB please please play hugo. friedel is not any good. I was excited till i saw the team sheet.
If only bale and demble hugo were on the field. Benny please get well soon we need vert back in the centre.

I would have played
lloris
walker caluker vert naughton
sandro siggurson
lennon dempsey townsend

Agree0 Disagree2

Wasnt that bad except for Gallas !!!! But can anyone answer 3 questions for me ?
Why does AVB persist with Livermore ?
Why the hell did we waste money on Siggy ?
Does AVB have a problem with Ade ?
Only my thoughts , but any answers ?
Davo

Agree2 Disagree0

Didnt really happen today did it.
walker is showing the defensive frailities i warned of at the beginning of last season,i hope he learns quickly.
siggi isnt really firing at the moment, but the biggest disappointment is dempsey.
failed to track mata for the third and doesnt fit into the team at the moment.
b/spur

Agree3 Disagree0

Because Livermore for all the stick you guys give him isn't actually as bad as you think it's just because he's an average player
Not specialised in any role just a general all round cm wins the ball can pass the ball and chase and Harry opponents ... And sometimes that's all that's needed

We didn't waste money on siggs
It's just he's adapting to new formations and is young and learning
Leave the kid alone he will come good I can promise you that

I doubt there is a problem with Adebayor from AvB it's more a case of dropping on fire Defoe did you even watch when Adebayor came on ? He was shocking and missed a sitter
He's just returned from injury
And in my eyes made the right choice Defoe was for all the rubbish we were today one of our stand out players .... Dave you seem to be one of the only ones not liking Defoe

Bear yid

Agree1 Disagree1

B/spur
Is buckspur ?

Anyway walker actually it you noticed his defensive duties today were done well he had hazard in his pocket just some mentality of playing dead ....
Although from fans who had a better view they said he was actually fouled
However he should have never gotten into that situation and just Cleared it or played it down the line to Lennon who was always supporting him .....

Walker is just having a blip this game marks his improvement hopefully upwards again for the rest of the season
Apart from that last goal though I only partly agree

Agree0 Disagree1

Bear person , thats true , I am not one of Defoes best fans . He is a good player , but rarely looks up to see whats about , strikers instinct I suppose , shoot on site so really I shouldnt blame him . Siggs could come good , but please dont use age as an excuse as there is many a player of his age or younger tearing up the premier league . What position do you play him ? Never seems comfy in any one position , never seems to fit in any position , a bit of a square peg .
But please Livermore ! yes , he probably is a good player at a team like Fulham , Villa , or Liverpool , but is he really good enough for Spurs ? Goes about his job yes , but a little fish in a big pond .
AVB will do it for us , makes silly mistakes at times but I think he is going to be a great manager . But as I have a relative at WHL , there is a problem with Ade and AVB . I think every supporter on this website knew that he could be a problem if he didnt get playing time , lots of players would , but we got him cheap and thats a risk we took . I dont know if he was AVB's choice , I doubt it knowing Levy's penny pinching ways , but at present Defoe is number one and Ade doesn't like that !
Davo

Agree1 Disagree1

Davo,

In answer to your 3 questions,

1) He persist with Livermore for 2 reasons, 1 is because he obviously sees something in him (I like him not the greatest but gives his all and goes about his job quietly, IMO good squad player), 2 because we have no real depth when we have an injury or 2.

2)On yesterdays performance I think we wasted money on Dempsey he was never in the game even after the swapped him into his favoured AM position. Siggy at least gave 110% and with a bit more luck could have scored.

3) Don't no about a problem, but Ade had no pre-season and then an injury so prob not match fit. But given Defoe's form why would you play Ade at the moment anyway, plus Ade looked like he was back to his good old ways of ARSEnal and MancC with his sulks and strops. I have never rated him and personally didn't want him on a perm deal. (If you read my previous posts I have stated that as soon as a perm deal was signed he would revert back to his usual ways).

Completey agree about Gallas, he was almost as bad as Dempsey and cost us 2 goals.

I think you missed 1 question tho, why the hell didn't he start Lloris in goal our only 2 clean sheets this season have been with him in goal, he is our future.

THFC4EVER

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes b/spur is short for bucks spur.

walker did seem to be fouled for the last goal and sturridge may have even been offside[not sure] but he shouldnt have been fafing about in that position.i fully understand why but clear your lines is first rule of defence.
im sure he will learn from his defensive mistakes and evolve as englands right back ,
as for dempsey?
doesnt seem to influence the game and looks a little lost to me.
do we keep playing him to increase his confidence or drop him to give him some breathing space and develop his role in the team?
dropping dempsey would allow ade to play with jd,although we would need to change formation slightly.
dempsey may then return fired up,the player we thought we had purchased.
perhaps this change would allow us to play in both halves,as at present we only seem to turn for one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Like you THFC , I have never rated Ade but got slagged for it . To tempermental for my liking , no matter how good he is . But we all know that he is the best that tight arse Levy is ever going to get us . I suppose until Huddlestone gets his form back we are going to be stuck with Livermore , so thats it !

The weekly moan from Davo. Any positives in your life at all?

Agree0 Disagree1

Yep , plenty of positives for me , in fact I live a very good life thanks , nice of you to ask , hows your life , bit boring is it ?
But as I pay a HUGE amount each year to follow Spurs and have done for a lot of years , and this is a banter page , like most supporters you need some where to let you opinions out ! Mind you , most of what I have said is only what others have said or think anyway .
