Redknapp won't be offered a new deal if he fails to achieve a top 4 finish.

Rose has now hit out at harry's refusal to rotate squad and i think he and corluka are right. I think that harry sticks with same players no matter what and when he does pick Gio or Nico or playes like that they feel so out of it and demotivated that they find it difficult to raise game and lack the match practice and minutes on the pitch. He needs to do this more as part of the problem at the end of this season is the older players ie parker pick up injuries more due to fatigue and tiredness sets in. Finally at a time we need a cb corluka is on loan as well as Bassong and nelsen not being used so what was the point in signing him. Harry sort it out.

Why are every body else getting in early signings and once again we are sat on our @rses ? We will wait till after the euros only to find all the prices have gone up and we end up with expensive sh**e !! Levy must have some players he knows he wants , well get out there and get them . Or once again are we going to wait till the last day and then trot out the same h***ing excuses that we have heard for the last 3 years ?
What about the brazilian CH Douglas who plays for FC Twente , I think ? Looks a beast of a centre half !!

Additions needed -:
Baines jagielka shawcross needed for defence robben for midfield loric, Ba up front and either vorm krul al habsi or lloris as gk. These signings will push current squad playes and are mostly proven prem players.

It's hard to sign players at this moment in time. We can't promise them anything. Who the manager will be or if we will be in champions league.

If we sign top class players now, they will want high wages as if we are chamions league. if we pay them that and don't get champions league, then our books will not balance (without the extra champions league money).

If we buy ok players (because we are not incorporating champions league money to be safe) then all the fans will complain about lack of ambition.

Also clubs are reluctant to sell unless their league position is definite otherwise speculation (like with Harry) will affect players minds.

Once we know our budget at the end of the season, then we can draw up a likely shortlist.

It might be the difference between buying Robben later, or Downing now.

Everyones talking Hazard, Vertonghen, etc. etc. but i think its time we started talking realistically...

Hazard/Vertonghen are going to pick City, United above us most likely the Arse as well. hurts me to say it but they are still the more attractive club in N.London, although we are really pushing them close last few seasons.

In terms of who we should bring in I think Hoillett would be brilliant, on a free and very versatile will run Azza for some competition which would be v.good for him.

Strikers - realistically:
Llorente - hes late 20s? and Bilbao were talking 27m+, Levy wont spend that money on someone we'll get a few years from...
Rossi - I think would be a great addition to the squad but probably 20 odd million for a VERY injury prone player, and how would he fit in? not the big player to lead the line, would have to change our style?
Berba - heard mixed views from others but personally would love him. He knows the club, played with a few of the players before, hes the perfect man to replace Ade, holds it up and links up brilliantly, knows how to find the net and pick a pass and would be a snip although he is getting on a bit.

CB's -
Absolutely LOVE King Ledley but it seems like were never going to get a real turnout from him anymore. Kaboul looks to be turning into something a bit special so a solid CB to build a partnership with would be great.
As i said Vertonghen would be great but would he choose us over others?
I think someone like Shawcross or another underrated solid player would be great, dont need to over spend on it.

Back up for BAE when he gets injured, Nothing major, Rose is ok but he wants to play LW and hes not really a defender. someone versatile would be great who can do RB/LB.

and we need a keeper! Brad is great but oooold and he refuses to go for a cross! cost us more than has been recognised this season and i think Krul or Vorm would suit us very nicely. Also Lindergaard is brilliant but after only 1 year at Roma doubt he'd leave.

opinions?

For a keeper must be lloris!
trouble is we always leave it to late, slightly worrying that chelski, the arse and the pool have already started building for next season!! however if a player the wrong side of 30 and on there last legs comes up guaranteed harry will be straight in there.

Agree1 Disagree0

Baines should be brought from everton to compete at lb caulker chance at cb and yes someone like shawcross or jagielka to be brought in. Not sur about rossi being good enough in prem didnt score for united but was younger. We should buy Ba from newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think Lloris is out of our price range. I would like Krul in.
CB - I think we get Vertonghen. Only we can promise him first placement.
RB/LB - Maybe Naughton on the bench would be good cover as he can cover both positions.
ST - Berba and Torres (I probably will get slated so hard for saying this). Massive risk I know but on their game, they can tear any CB apart, and I think they could work well together. Torres pushing defenders back because of his pace, Berbs dropping into the hole. Torres made Vidic look silly so many times.

Hoilett does look intriguing

Kagawa is going on a free at the end of the season, not only is he a talent but will bring in obviouse marketing strategy.

Oh well, it looks as though I was wrong - Hodgson it is then. How disapointing.

Disappointed with Roy as the England manager, I think Harry would have suited it nicely.

There's no doubt he knows how to manage but any big team he has been at he has failed, (to my recollection). He's too much of a "yes man" and England's problems are their ego's, not finding good players. I can see the likes of Terry walking all over Hodgeson.

But what do I know, maybe they are taking a leaf out of Levy's book and are cutting costs for 3 years to spend big for the next "Euro Cup".

I'm told - but don't know for sure, that he did ok at Inter Milan. But I'm sure the reported £2m a year (£4m a year less than Capello) and zero compensation to WBA was the major deciding factors here - couldnt see Harry taking such a pay cut. This decision been purely about money.

It's wouldn't make a difference who the manager is, the players ain't good enough! I'm bored of England and the hype that surrounds every game, they'll be lucky to even get out of the group! When was the last time any Englishman (I'm one by the way) was excited by an England performance?

They turned down like a 22 ? Ish million bid for lemy in January what makes you think they will drop it to that amount ?
And after sigurdssons performance I'd say yes please .... But gio will be sold for more than that ....

Agree0 Disagree0

Sigs a great player, but is it really a position we need to strengthen? Striker should be a priority, then backup rw, then backup cb, then gk, then backup lb, and then maybe attacking midfield

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah, one of the best goalkeepers in world football to leave for 10 Million? And you know french clubs don't sell their players on the cheap

I am not sure there will be any blockbuster signings in the summer even if we make CL. Can't see why after two years of spending about £15-20million in total we would go mad just as the payments on the training complex and new stadium build begin!?
This season we've not had much luck and you need a big chunk of it without the coffers of Mancs, Chelski, 'them' and even L'pool have spent massive, pay bigger wages and have their history to live off.
Of course we haven't done ourselves any favours with the gambles on the lack of squad depth, the injuries/ages that were already being carried and some mistakes by Harry (as some people see it) but, even during our good run we were robbed at Stoke and had a bunch of on/off side goals go the wrong way against us against Chelski and Wolves - all costing us a few points by the letter of the law. Harry's court case meant Levy couldn't really gamble with big spending if the manager was going to be in clink the week after, then the England rumour mill started just after that. Man City another fiasco when the injury time penalty and match winner should have been off the park already.
After all that we've then been scratching about for players with a small squad who look injured/nackered and like they don't know what might be going on the week after - yes they should be more professional and resilient but not many of them are used to the real deal of pressure at the top end of the table.
Cap it all with the Wembley 'winner' that was nowhere near over the line and that just sums up the lack of luck all season. Most frustrating is the two biggest things causing unrest both resulted in not-guilty and Roy Hodgson so never needed to be an issue to us at all.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Let's all put a tenner on us finishing 4th and Chelski winning the Champions League then. That would be just "our luck".

Agree1 Disagree0

I think previously the reason we hadn't spent much was because everyone thought redknapp would be off and we were stockpiling money for the new manager. Now that it's uncle woy, the whole game has changed. if we finish top 4, I would imagine there will be a big tent signing at striker at least

So chelski have signed marin, the gooners podolski looks like there starting early! take it we are going to be lastminute.com again an end up with the players no one else wants!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Sounds about right, or they may start early by signing youngsters that no ones heard of to loan straight out.
