Liverpool supporter here, but football fan in general.
I always flick through the club postings to keep abreast of what's happening and what fans think.
Strikes me that some Spurs fans are very worried about the lack of signings and Modric's stance.
Don't want to be naughty, but a question .... what will the panic really be like if VDV decides this is not going to be a buying club and announces he wants out?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

He's already stated he's very happy. Look players come and go from every club and there is never a mass exodus. The media have nothing to talk about so they stir things up, look at the hype over Dawson which was proven to be utter bull I must admit I'm a little concerned with the lack of activity in and out but I don't want us to by for the sake of it

Right, lets clarify all of this. Modric wants out, Levy has refused to sell, modric is threatening to hand in a transfer request, which, at this moment he hasnt. Bale has not gone public about wanting to go or wanting to stay. VDV has stated that he is fine and dandy and, reading into things, is not fussed about the Modric scenario. Dawson has issued a statement denying the story in The Sun, in which it quotes him as irate about his pay deal etc ( The Sun had obviously hacked the wrong mobile) and, as yet, we havent signed anybody apart from an 18 year old ball juggler. So its all as clear as mud then.

"Manager Harry Redknapp insists Tottenham still do not want to sell Luka Modric amid reports the midfielder has handed in a transfer request.

Redknapp does not know if the Croatian has submitted anything formally, but believes it is irrelevant anyway.

"We know he wants to leave, whether he writes it down on a piece of paper doesn't really make any difference to our stance, " he told BBC Sport.

"He's a great player and we don't want to lose him."
.........................

On the BBC this morning.
Why is Redknapp lying?
Why is he pulling the wool over your eyes?

Why did he not say "He's a great player and WE WILL NOT BE SELLING HIM."?

What he has said is simply to push up the price.
he is a liar and cheating the fans and you are taking it and lying down.
Shameful and embarrassing.

Taking it and lying down - you obviously haven't read previous posts then mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I have read the previous posts, but you tell me why Redknapp didn't say he wasn't for sale? Or "the boy" isn't for sale
Modric is off and we are being lied to by Redknapp and the club. They are pushing up the price.
Redknapp is interviewed on SKY and never once, NEVER ONCE said "Modric is not for sale/move on this uis a dead story/he is not being sold for any amount ..." or similar.
What he DID say was that it was a difficult situation which is an obvious coded message saying that they want more for him.
After all, why say £22m is a joke if he isn't being sold? If he is not for sale then talking about the figure is irrelevant.

Push off skanky so called spurs fan. Levy will get the job done.

After all this i want modric gone anyway
And besides I'm sure anyone with half a Brain can see it a tactic to push up the price ... Is that a bad thing ? Hell no

modric can go as far as im concerned its clear that he wants to go as his head has been turned by MONEY from chelski so we need a replacement theres a couple that spring to mind straight away that would be perfect

1.Riccardo montolivo - Fiorentino
2.Fernando gago - Real Madrid
3.Ganso - Santos
4.Lass Diarra - Real Madrid

any others guys?
what do you think Ed? {Ed001's Note - all these transfer requests going in are starting to get a bit worrying to me now. I know sometimes the club asks the player to do so and it is all agreed amicably, but this isn't the case with Modric. Doesn't sit right with me leaving because the club didn't finish as high as he wanted, perhaps he should have tried scoring a goal or two to get the team higher up? Sorry enough of the rant. Not sure there is a need to replace him personally, Sandro is a perfect replacement, put Huddlestone or Palacios alongside him with VDV in front.}

Totally 100% with that ED. I think we should let the rat faced liar go. Abroad preferably. I would not give him everything he wants. I trust Levy to do the best deal. I am so mad with Modric, i just think he is thick and so is his agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nico is more than able to replace modric. but would like to see robben come in too. Also Pranjic @9 million it would be a steal as he has potential to be better than modric.

I remember going away to newcastle and atouba scored a stunner and we won. There has been far worse than him. The worst i saw was tremmazani, he was shocking. Crouch has got to be up there too
