Hey guys I am curious about Steffen Freund
I'm not old enough really / didnt move here early enough to ever see him play
What was he like as a player ?
And what's he like now as a coach ?
Thanks

Lol, Freund... brings back some memories.

Defensive midfielder and was a general. garaunteed to get a yellow card and no goals. Before Parker, he was probably our last defensive mid.

All he he did was tackle hard and pass. And when I say tackle hard, it was a crunching tackle. He had no finesse but full of heart.

He was a legend, never shyed out of a tackle, wanted to win every game , gave 110% and loved us Spurs faithful, He's coached youth German national teams so i expect he's had good tutorlege along the way, and most importantly knows how much the team means to us fans

Agree1 Disagree1

Got stuck in and always gave 100% - loved playing for spurs and hated losing - if he is like this as a coach he'll be the one barking the orders from the sideline - an excellent addition in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Midfield general. Awesome in the tackle (unless you where on the other end of it). His shotting was terrible - so much so it became a standing joke between the fans and Steffen. I remember one occassion that he returned to the Lane playing for Leicester City and in the warm up he was encouraged to shot at an open goal from just outside the box by the home fans (shoting at the Park Lane end) and you guessed it - he missed by a country mile !! Bless him.

A true gentleman as well as a hard working old fashioned player.

Welcome Home Steffen.

How many times ? We are not signing Lloris !

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Lloris deal is done to be anounced next week, a replacement for Modric and another striker will also be done in this window.

Fact

Agree1 Disagree3

Do you have a credible source??
I'd say no.
FACT

Agree1 Disagree1

Other than your big mouth, what is YOUR credible source??

Agree1 Disagree2

Blimey, tough guy on a keyboard.
Everyone is allowed an opinion on this site mate.
Take a chill pill, we are all supposed spurs fans together.
Alot of people are not convinced by rumour, which what most comments are. Now, that really is a fact.

Agree1 Disagree1

My 'credible source' is that no one has a source and just regurgitate net rumours as there own.
You need to calm down fella. Bit touchy there weren't you.
Shopping day is it, thought so.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with above post. What is your source, or is it just your opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its hardly suprising that people get royally hacked off with people posting their own opinions as facts! Yes, everybody is allowed an opinion, perhaps tho, they would like to express the fact that what they are posting is THEIR opinion and not a statement of fact, not hard to do, right? So, one person states that we are not signing Lloris and one does and both statements are facts or just their opinions? If people cant be bothered to supply their sources when they post their "facts" they deserve to get ripped to shreds and not have mealey mouthed apologists defending them from the rest of us, hacked off by more b*llsh*t posting.
Too much of that goes on here, too many cyber ITKs who are anything but and makes the forum look a joke.

Stevan Jovetić is apparently available for 20mil, surely thats worth thinking about, thoughts? (ed?)

Steed {Ed001's Note - he seems a bit injury prone, from what I have seen of him.}

According to SSN spurs have agreed a price for Ade and just need to agree personal terms?

I thought that was the situation weeks ago? Are they just regurgitating old news?

I am over the moon with the recent signings. I can't recall being this optimistic.

Vertoghen is a legendary defender...maybe the best out there.

Sigurdson is equivalent to Andre Pirlo...actually if not better.

As for Adebayor... One word - Machine. BEST STRIKER OUT THERE.

Hopefully spurs sign moutinhio, moura and ganso. I heard we are in race for moura

This site has gone Down hill. There use to be a editor that new slot about spurs but now we have a donkey who makes up everything. Spurs guvnor was the one with all the news about spurs. Everything else is blatantly made up {Ed001's Note - right, so when I was the first person anywhere to say that AVB was Spurs first choice, while SSN and every bookies had Moyes nailed on, that was made up? That will be why I was right and they were all wrong and had to change their story afterwards and try and claim their 'sources' had said AVB was favourite, when what they meant was I had said it. When we have info, we give it, when we don't know, we say so, I guess you would prefer us to make up lies to keep you happy, rather than be honest though.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Nobody is asking you to come on here, these editors give up there time to give you information, true or false statements this is a rumour site - if you want definate answers what until they are published on the spurs website

Agree2 Disagree0

Well said to the first reply and I would also like to back Ed001. I was so sure it would be Moyes, Ed001 politely informed me otherwise AND HE WAS RIGHT.

Keep up the good work Ed's

Flippit. {Ed001's Note - thank you mate, out of interest why were you so sure it would be Moyes?}

Agree2 Disagree0

A handful of reasons Ed001. I was looking at it from DANIEL LEVYs point of view. Grab your self a comfy seat and some popcorn mate and I'll explain -

Moyes was in last year of contract (so little compensation to pay to Everton) big TICK in Daniels box, works very well with a small budget (meaning more to put towards Bulls cross and the new stadium) ANOTHER TICK. He could get the best out of Pienaar thus meaning not having to pay out the money we get for Modders on a replacment (now I know many say they play in different positons but to answer that one Bale was a left back when we bought him and Pienaar can play in the middle) TICK AGAIN.

As we have seen over the last 4-5 transfer windows and our chairmans tight grib on the purse strings, this would have suited our Daniel to a tea.

Moyes has ample premier league experience ANOTHER TICK, is well respected in the game TICK and his wages would not have been as much as 'a big foreign name' TICK TICK TICK.

The biggy for me was when I heard him do two interviews on the radio - one on talksport and one the following day on 5live. Now we've all seen players and managers side stepping questions to effectively answer them without answering them so to speak (see any Harry Redknapp interview on England in the months prior to his sacking) and I know this happens all the time but it was just the 'flirting' words used and the way he was saying them that made me think it was him. He almost went out of his way to make sure he didnt say he was staying at Everton. He was also extremely complementary about our new training complex. This was well before its official opening so I asked myself how would he have known the ins and outs of it, unless he had been given a private guided tour? Why would he have had such a tour.....

I took these points, added 2 and 2 togeather and really could see Daniel Levy saying "this is the man for me".

That was of course until Gary Lineker asked him straight in a half time interview during the Euro coverage. It was at that point I started to agree with you that he wasnt to be our man and as it turns out, my 2+2 came to 5 and you were right (again).

My apologies for this very long winded answer, but I wanted you and everyone else who may or may not be interested, to see why I was so sure. I hope this explains my rather somewhat misplaced confidence and that you haven't put too bigger dent in that popcorn!!

Keep up the good work my friend (same to the other Ed's....)

Spurs ins:
Vertonghen done
Sigardson done
Adebayor 8 million
Mark Davies 5 million
Moses 10 million
Hooper 12 million
Konchesckey 2 million
Outs:
VDV 10 million
Modric 23 million
Bale 25 million

I know it doesn't look that good but we have to remember that we are a team who can attract decent players but not the best. This will keep up near the top and will guarantee us Europa league which is the best we can hope for.

Cheers Dec.

Moutinho, Munian, Damiao, Lascelles, Fryers, Courtois, Adebayor.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Would love to see muniain down the left for spurs but where would bale go? maybe use him up front in a 4-3-3 Bale-Muniain-Sigurdsson? not realistic tho as I don't think he'd want to leave Atletico

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol you spurs fans are dreamers. You will get mountinho and adebayor out of that lot.

Agree2 Disagree0

Is this the collection of names you have picked up from all the various sites
Yep, thought so

Agree0 Disagree0

Believable0 Unbelievable1

You have to do better than that.
Don't suppose you have a credible source do you??
Thought not!
