There will be no new signings this unless Levy gets a bargain A.V.B has been told no new buys until the summer, of course if he is still in a job by then its CL or else.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Levy MUST spend to cement CL status, no two ways about it.Pull up or shut up.He can't fail us as he did last year.

Surely for £8 million, we should be going in for Remy {Ed008's Note - Average player going to an average team.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

I have to agree with ed on this one. Is not good enough for a top 6 side.

We should try for ben arfa. cheaper than all the other so called targets.

Agree3 Disagree4

Ben Arfa is has a lower value but Newcastle probably wouldn't let him go to us for anything less than double or even triple his value. I agree he would be a quality buy though if we could get a decent price.

Im here to carry my point across and time will tell on bembele.. We are playing a 442 and then 451..so where to put him.. alot are saying they dnt see him like for like to modders but he id playing im that position..Some of you area saying behind the striker, for me he does not score enough or is he a finisher like vdv... last season adi played the loan man up front with vdv behind..i can't see that working with bembele and adi either. Defoe can't play the the single striker.Id see dembele in the sandro role specially when we play teams that park the bus like opr yesterday. Dnt get me wrong i like him and we are a better team with him in it but should we find the creative midfielder we are all craving 4 then can't see where he would fit in... For me a second striker busts a gut to get in the box like vdv did, i can't see him doing that. Can you?
ed you might have to play ref cos im gonna stand my ground on this one......

Mr g, how about a creative midfielder with similar attributes to lampard partnered alongside sandro. A player who can make deep runs and grab us 10/15 goals a season? Modric couldn't do that and it's definately not dembele role. You seem to not understand that the way dembele moves on the ball is best suited further foward. With dembele movement on and off the ball it would open up so much space allowing players like Holtby or whoever to make those clever runs into the box. Imagine if we had a world class striker who can bury the majority of chances thrown his way. If you don't think dembele can play that role effectively put on a fulham DVD and you'll understand fully what the majority of us are trying to say.

How about playing Dembele in the hole behind Defoe while Ade is gone ? Drop young Tom Carroll in beside Sandro ...or Parker, though I'm not convinced the Parker/Sandro tandem gives us enough creative options going forward. Could even play Dempsey instead of JD if we had too as an option.

Agree1 Disagree2

Tom Carroll has no doubt got ability but he really needs to go out on loan for the rest of the season and maybe all next season and also needs to bulk up slightly - defo not the sort term answer for us to cement top 4.

But would love him to break through as its about time Spurs produced a top top player

Azzat he ant playing for Fulham he's playing 4 us.. Different players different team

At the moment I see Dembele as a box-to-box midfielder, when partnered with Sandro they're main focus is on winning the ball, recycling possession, and holding the ball in the centre of the park before distributing to more attacking-minded players who can create and score chances. This is a totally different style of play to Modric, who was relied upon to create chances himself from deep.

This would be my first choice of where to play Dembele, but I have a feeling that AVB is building a team where the key is versatility and there is less focus on a pre-determined starting XI that play the same roles every match. With the addition of Holtby (who I see as more of a Modric replacement than Dembele) then Dembele will be able to push further forward allowing us to utilise Holtby as a deep-lying playmaker - thus changing up the style play when we need it.

With the addition of a creative VDV-style player to sit in front of Dembele and Sandro, instead of having 2 strikers, then we will have a whole range of options to choose from if we need to change our style of play to break down a stubborn team, like QPR yesterday for example.

Mr g, would you not like a lampard type player who's going to get you 10/15 goals a season? In modrics ex possition.
Don't you think dembele is wasted further back?
With all the skill he has he should be opporating in the opposition penalty area? No1 could touch him with his silky skills.
Like I said before put on a fulham DVD and you'll see how good he is up top.....

Just as in every transfer window I begin with the positivity that world class reinforcements will be bought in 2 cement our position in the top 4. But like every other 1 I feel that tight wod will let us down not buying the sort of player we need 4 the sake of a million or 2. What he needs 2 realise if we invest that extra 1 or 2 or even 5 million on a special player that will make the difference that could mean 10, 15 or even 20 million in securing champs league. and buy at the start of the window if we have had that special player yesterday it could well of been the difference yesterday with those extra points being the difference between champs or Europa league, a point or 2 could decide!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

My thoughts exactly. This is what iv been saying till blue in the face
mr g

Agree2 Disagree1

Totally agree but think we all need to consider that a extra 5mill will have a knock on effect in the summer.
For example say we do make champions league then that's 5mill less in the kitty plus whatever wage this superstar would demand. That would equal 5mill + wages less for a superstar who will join based on cl qualification (I.e Hazzard last season) so would mean we'd have less to play with.
Now if Levy feels the team we have will do the job then why throw money at getting into the cl. Look at the affect that can have (Leeds).

Basically what I'm saying is let Levy get on with it. We praise him when his business skills benefits us (Holtby, fryers) so maybe he has done more behind the scenes than we realise!

Before anyone bangs on about last year, nobody expected such a bad second half so maybe Levy thought the team was good enough. Also we did actually come fourth and nobody saw Chavski wining the cl otherwise would've been job done.

Agree1 Disagree0

We have been banging on about a decent striker for 3 years ! Surely we need to learn from last year so we don't make that mistake again, (never make the same mistake again ) . Plus, if we fail to get CL, we are not going to attract the players anyway . So come on Mr tight arse, loosen the purse strings and buy us what we need !

Jordan, Hazards shot came off a Stokes player head, that is a deflection. If you hadnt got those two lucky own goals Stoke would of beat you billionaires just like Swansea and Qpr.

Some1 can't handle chelsea winning!
