My job took me to North London today, so I made the time to go up to W.H.L. and have alook around. For those who know the area I drove upto the ground from Seven Sisters.

Altough very annouying that todays game was postponed, i am not surprised at all. The area was a mess. William Hill, The Job Centre, the Aldi store, many many pubs including one enjoyed 'afew jars' in after the Bilbo game and loads of small shops distroyed by the prats last week. More buildings than I can count literally falling down into the street and having to be demolished - large sections of the street looked like a scene from the history channel and it was only handed back to the council last night. So 36,000 fans would have had to pass all this. IMO rather dangerous and difficult to police.

Reports that our ticket office was damaged is true, it didnt look to bad - no broken windows etc.

But having seen all this with my own eyes - it was right to call off the game. I couldn't begin to imagine one of the buildings coming down on a young fan on the way to/from the game.

Super yid, your right but i just cant get my head round the not buying a striker for a while and when we finally get cl and have a chance to cement ourselves with quality additions we do nothing. Its just pure frustration now and it shows in my posts obviously.
I would like to judge defoe later on in the season, i dont buy his excuses of injury et al, he missed soo many sitters (i could of scored if i had taken 10acid trips) and he was tbh rubbish. I would still be happy, very happy, to see pav go. I would rather see kane or coulibaly come on as a sub. Pav is what 29,30 years old so i would get what we can and get rid, just my opinion.
Lets hope levy rewards our support.

The transfer window may close on 31st aug but so what, we have waited almost 3 full windows to sign a striker and still nothing. I am amazed that levy n co didnt fix this, a 20/30mil outlay would of turned into a profit had we qualified for cl and would made sure our progress continued. So please dont tell me we have plenty of time left, we dont, pathetic
Please please get rid of pavlyuchenko, what a load of pure lazy rubbish.

Guv, before sticking the knife in, maybe you want to wait till the end of the month? hey, if we havent signed anybody of any note by then, you are welcome to form a lynching mob BEHIND me, ok? I quite agree, we should have signed someone ages ago, dont agree about Pav tho, yep, he isnt all that good but he scored more than the other s**te forward line last season, Defoe is way overrated and crouch is a fuggin joke. Pav? a good sub to have but no 90 min sole striker man. Im quite ready and willing to stick the boot in, have done plenty of times in the past but have wound my neck in of late, im giving them every opportunity to show me, a loyal supporter, that they have the ambition and balls to drive the club forwards and show me that its worth the 200mile round trip and second mortgage to go and watch them. By my reckoning, they have 18 days left to show all of us that they are serious about taking us forwards. At least give them that, Guv, just in case...

I totally agree that we need to be making a signing or two, but you have gotta think about a bit more people. Granted we may/may not have money available, but we need to get the best deals we can in order to save money.

I'm presuming Levy and Co. are gonna have one eye on the cost of our new stadium (i've heard £400 million quoted) and only when we get this will we have the cash flow to increase our wage structure therefore signing better players....

Don't just think here and now, look to the future

All of that is all well and good and i do understand that the club is in a bit of a dilemma. Its the Chicken or Egg scenario, isnt it. Do they build a stadium then start chasing the big names or do they secure the big names then start building the stadium. Well, lets put it this way, if the club doesnt keep up with the front runners, it will fall back into mid table mediocrity, if that happens, how are they going to justify building a 50/60 thousand seater stadium? How are they going to fill it? To me, they are going to be better off getting the team up to scratch then building the stadium, that way they KNOW they will fill it, not think they will. Anyway, i thought that the club had secured funding via some sort of scheme rubber stamped by Boris Johnson?
Kalrez, it is exactly because most of us ARE looking to the future that we wonder what the hell is happening The club MUST prioritise the team THEN the stadium, even the Gooners did that and, fair play to them, they got it the right way round, so must we because, if we dont, we will end up with a big stadium, half full, no atmosphere and obscurity. Can nobody see that?

As I said we need to make a couple of signings to keep up with the joneses, but saying we prioritise the team first before the stadium still means we can't afford to pay the 'marquee' signings.

Also I don't believe paying overated prices is the answer either, £20mill for Henderson or £15mill for oxwaide-gooner (whatever his name is) is banking too much in my opinion.

As a longish term reader of this site as always I respect your views Super yod - Chicken or the Egg, how long have you got...

P.S If the Gooners and Scousers keep playing like that all season we've got it made LOL

Eds, Samba is not playing for blackburn, could this mean he is in discussion with spurs {Ed001's Note - he is injured.}

There seems to be a lot of panicking about signings. look, the transfer window doesnt close till the THIRTY FIRST of August
Other leagues dont start yet either, enough time to secure signings.
Strike a light, there is so much doom and gloom here sometimes, anybody would think it was the Gooner forum

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Agree with this 100%. Good post mate.

Agree0 Disagree2

Its not panic, just p*ssed off that after banking a load of CL cash and having some of the highest ticket prices in the PL we are about to go through the 3rd transfer window without signing the striker we have so obviously needed for a long time. Even if we do make a signing before Aug 31(which I doubt) it shows poor judgement by Levy as the new signing will have had no presason with new team mates and so less knowledge of training methods and teammates. You might feel complacent but suspect you wont be so happy come next Mat when we have blown the chance to step up a level and finish way off CL places

Well, as I posted on here about 6 weeks ago the season has begun and we have signed no-one who is likely to regain us a CL place or even hang on to 5th place. The lack of ambition must be plain to see for everyone now and I frankly dont blame Luka for wanting to leave. When he first signalled his desire to leave DL and HR came out with a lot of huff and puff about matching his ambition and how we would make signings to prove it but all this weeks on and thats been proved to be all talk. Europa League absolute best we can hope for this season and even that looking doubtful with Liverpool having strengthened. Time for Joe Louis to find a buyer as he obviously cant or doesnt have the ambition to take us up a level.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

If you were a Spurs fan (which i doubt) you should know our owner is JOE LEWIS not Joe Louis. He was an American boxer. Go and do one fella. Brush up your knowledge and IQ. And some people wonder why i get mad with idiots on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen sunshine Ive been going to WHL since the 70s and the fact that I misspelt our absentee owners name isnt gonna change that and it doesnt change the fact that we are entering a new season with 4 strikers who scored less than 20 PL goals between them last season while everyone else going for CL places has strengthened.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you are another panic stricken wannabe that never was. IF you have been going to the lane since the 70s....hip hip hoorah. Even more reason to know our owners name really isnt it. You must obviously know more than me as you have been going since the 70s......sunshine.

Agree0 Disagree1

Another cyber hero, As Ive said, I dont think getting p*ssed off after 3 transfer windows without getting the striker we have obviously needed for ages. A

Big news. Bentley has taken no. 38 which means a class cb might come in to take no.5 hopefully jags or cahill. David isnt mentioned in the el squad either. Giovani hasnt got a no. and set for an exit. Button is promoted and niko is staying(yeah)
Will expect kane to be promoted and take no. 16 and a new striker to take 10 as keane is set to join la

What do you think ed? {Ed001's Note - I certainly expect a striker to join, before the window I was expecting Spurs to sign a centre back and a striker at the very least. Now I am beginning to wonder, seems to be taking forever to sign them.}

Have we actually signed Adebayor on loan or is this just rubbish, as there is no official news which makes me think it's the latter of the two...
