C'mon spurs fans, lets be realistic now. You're all hoping ur manager signs the likes of Ageuero, llorente, hulk, micah richards, kaka etc. Why would all of these players leave their clubs for yours? Besides a big wage you have nothing to offer them. To get those players without champions leauge football you would need 1. A legendary manager 2. Legendary stadium and crowd 3. History 4. Lots of money (obviously) you spurs have none of the above. I would have put europa league as a 5th point but looks like you won't be playin their either.

Face it the only players your small club will be signing from now on are players like pienaar, khumalo and sandro (not bad players, but nothing special)

Thanks, but you do have some valid points though dude.
who do you recon we need to sign anyway? we need a right back deffinately and a striker! but who tiggles your fancy?

by the way if i came across as a little rude i do apologise.

lol, its called being passionate about your team fella and that's good enough for me! : )
I shall have a think about the right back and striker too many names and too many possibilities, although i would think it stupid if we sell on Kyle walker. He is no worse a defender than Corluka ( i think he is better) or Hutton and has got more pace getting forwards. Lets put it this way, Corluka and hutton are not the answers and Kaboul is a s**te right back. Bring the lad back and give him a chance.
Hmmm striker. . .I'll be back.

Hang on a sec. lets clear things up NO1 said to just take a gamble on the 21 year old piatti, if you read the comments correctly they have mentioned a striker who has already established himself as a top player. .example Hulk/ adebayor aswell as signing PIATTI.
NO1 has mentioned signing piatti on his own.
There are s**t leagues but in them leagues are some players who have the qualities to cut it in the premierleague. whether its the protugeuse, german, dutch, brazil who gives s**t there are players that can do it.
we have the financial clout AND squad to accomodate him as a potential for the future as does MOST clubs.
selling pav and keane and signing Hulk and piatti its a top deal because LOOKING AT IT. . we still have defoe crouch and vdv who plays in the hole.
if he decides to sell crouch then bring in someone like adebayor to.
Can he take it? Can the club afford to wait? Can the club afford to take a gamble? . .i think they can! as they did with sandro, ekotto ect.

i think you need to read through what people have been saying because no1 has mentioned signing the 21 year old as the MAIN striker.

Fair comment Sir, consider me told off! ; )

I disagree with you there. some big names turn out from small teams.
pablo piatti plays for almeria, check him out. hes a top player.
Well, in all honesty, as somebody who is far from stupid, ive never heard of him!
Apart from his name being linked on here, who is he? Alan Sugar wasnt so wrong when he made his "Carlos Kickaball" speech.
This fella plays for a small club in a two team league, a league where the "legend" and multi club journeyman John Aloisi became the leagues top goal scorer. .
Helder Postiga was a "top player" Nico Clausen was a"top player" i can name plenty more who were "Top players" in Mickey Mouse leagues but why should i bother? Maybe you are right, he may turn out to be the kind of bargaion that Hernandez has been for Utd but, i don't think so. . .- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Well that's just your opinion. i can name a number of players who have come from mickey mouse leagues and turned out to be world class.
so what are you trying to say? . . only gamble and sign players who have already made a name for themselves?

why do we have scouts?ed what do you make of this? {Ed003's Note - A lot of players have come from lower league's, some, years ago simply missed, some are just late developers}
Hold on a sec, its about taking risks!
ok take sandro for example. . came from a mickey mouse league and look how he has turned out.
you will never know how a player turns out untill he takes his chance in the premierleague.

Sandro wasnt a huge gamble, he played in one of the fiercest leagues in the World, you think there are hatchet men in the Premiership? Watch Brazilian league football. He cost 6 million, peanuts for a potentially top class holding midfield player and a player that was being groomed for first team action ( he is way ahead of schedule now)As the club already had plenty of midfielders and Palacios, who was doing the job that Sandro is doing now, it was hardly the big punt that his signing was made out to be. Strikers? The ones we have have done more to cost us 4th than anywhere else on the pitch, the goal tally is woeful, yet, you feel taking a punt on a "potentially good striker" for next season is the way to go. For chrissakes, we need to hit the floor running! We lack a top draw striker that can pop in 30 goals a season. Hernandez was a gamble for Man U but they had Rooney and Berbatov anyway! Who do we have? t**t Crouch, 100 goals in a generation Defoe and Pav who is a good footballer but not an out and out goal scorer. We can't afford to gamble on unknowns UNLESS we are bringing them in WITH a top class striker.
I really don't see what so difficult to grasp, the club doesn't have the comfort of taking on a player, in a vital position, that may or may not work out. Sure, this fella could well end up at a big club, somewhere where they have the financial clout AND squad to accomodate him as a potential for the future or he could end up at a WBA/ Fulham type club where the expectations are lower and the pressures to perform are less great. Under those circumstances a player can grow and, eventually move on to bigger clubs. Thats the way it works.
IF this guy is bought and he is the MAIN striker, how long will he have to grow into the role? How long will the pressure to deliver hold him down? Can he take it? Can the club afford to wait? Can the club afford to take a gamble? No.
