What about a bid for demba ba? 8 - 9m perhaps carnt see him in chelsea plans nxt season & better than what we have? Getting frustrated at seeing the other teams starting to do there buisness. Maybe we are awaiting before a DOF is appointed?

We got director of football and no doubt things will start happening end of month onwards. No rush. Need to sign players before deadline day though.

Was only saying that all week between other people in work defo someone i'd take, good shout

Agree0 Disagree4

Do not want. His knees are a liability. And spurs luck would be we buy him and they give out

Agree5 Disagree1

Rather have Demba Ba than Adebayor. would be happy with a strike force of Ba, defoe, and either villa or saldado. also bring in Tom Ince as he can play on any wing and not bad up front either. Dapz

Agree3 Disagree1

Dapz, Townsend, Falque and Pritchard are all better then him. In my opinion it would be a terrible move!
We must remember he is a championship player that has had no expeience in Europe, had a poor tournament with England and failed to help get his team promoted. decent signing for Swansea or Sunderland but never spurs.

Gabriel. Have you ever watched pritchard play lol. he's awfull. not on our level atall and yago Falque is 24 now and still hasn't broke into out first team. IMO he's too overated and townsend is hit and miss. looked decent for qpr but I dnt think AVB has him in his plans. ince has what it takes trust me. look how walcott, the ox and bale coped with the step up!. Dapz

If Ince is that good why aren't any big clubs chasing him? also why did Liverpool kicked him out if he is so good IMO Townsend is a much better option.

Also in reference to the poster who said we have a director of football, can you tell me who this is, because I wasn't aware any appointment had been made. I know we are interested in Baldini

just read spurs are interested in mario gomez. levy willing to offer 7 million and 70,000 a week, I think it would be a good move for gomez and spurs.

Believable17 Unbelievable10

I agree, his experience would do spurs wonders and he still has a few years left in the tank.
Would be a smart and ambitious move in the right direction if we managed to snap Gomez and another young, hungry striker.

Now that Franco baldini has been appointed I can't see him Persuing Damiao any longer. It seems his not the type of director that will wait, wait and wait for a player to make up their mind. For that reason it put damiao back on the shelf.

7mil for Gomez is a steal, he's worth 20 at least seriously he's that clinical

Agree9 Disagree3

I personally think it will cost more to secure gomez. Living in Germany, and watching the Bundeliga, the guy is the real deal.
If he goes anywhere though it will be on the continent, the guy scored 19 goals as a sub this year. His stats are of the charts.

Gomez would be an excellent signing for Spurs! A 7 mil bid sounds exactly like the kind of bid Levy would open negotiations with, although I suspect in reality we would be looking at 15-20 mil to get him to the lane. I would love for us to pull this one off! Gomez is world class.

Agree2 Disagree3

Hate to be cynical but levy won't spend 15 - 20 million on a 27/28 year old. We have this every year. We are linked with every player under the sun and end up with Dempsey. Don't get me wrong, we are in a good place and the players purchased last season were good. Holtby, Lloris and dembele all good but all under 15 mill. If we keep bale expect a couple of surprise signings of young up and coming players, in the mould of affelay, chadni but nothing else. As a club we are doing well but with Levi in charge and no sugar daddy we are looking at fifth place, fourth if arsenal mess up. We need to get over all this we will get him talk. It's fun but unrealistic and gives spurs fans a bad name.

Agree1 Disagree4

But hopefully levy needs to realise, and may do, that spending 15million on 1 or 2 27/28 years olds, may actually propell us forward in years to come.
Signing these type of players might push us on further, which in turn, attracts better younger players in the future and starts to build a challenging base for years to come.
Or, am I just stating the obvious, which levy seems to lack seeing every year?

Agree0 Disagree0

The obvious to most of us, but who are we, the persons who fork out year after year!

arsenal messed up enough in past 2yrs and we managed to mess up even more as always.

I love that three people disagreed with my comment about levy not spending 15 mill but the intelligent people that have commented since seem to agree. I completely agree that one or two more experienced players could get us that fourth spot and truly believe that 20 mill spent this January or last on a decent striker would have got us that. We would have made the money back and more. Although as long as mugs like me spend thirty quid plus to watch us play on a Thursday night while levy saves money things won't change. Saying that I am spurs till I die and would pay to watch us in the championship.
