At long last, superb signing. Let's step up the striker situation now, at least 2 needed.

The Modric sage is set to drag on, with AVB keen to persuade Modric to stay with Spurs. Chelsea are trying to lower their original £30 million bid - the entire sum payable over 2 years - to £20 million payable over 12 months.

The departure of Modric is not inevitable. Expect Levy to play hardball

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Why would we want installments from chelsea , you got to be having a laugh and lower the price , comedians haha. 35 million at the very least

ok - so far all the info i have posted has come to fruition - for regular readers who have followed my postings. things are shaping up nicely with avb, all very positive - dead wood being removed steadily, expect to see bentley, bassong, gio, freidel and vdv join the list before the start of the season. sigunson, vertonghen deals in the bag - now for a striker and a creative midfielder - the big one could be damiao / oscar a 30 million double offer has been made. this will mean that we could conclude our transfer business in the next few weeks, in plenty of time for the start of the season. perhaps a young keeper to follow, but not lloris! zac

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Have a feeling we may look to keep Bassong for another season as he has enough pace to play the high line AVB likes to play. Can't see Dawson starting many.

Agree4 Disagree7

I think you will find that I predicted Damiao and Oscar in a double bid about a week ago. £35m to £40M in total th bid will be.

The Rabbit

Agree0 Disagree6

Zac, you say that VdV is going to leave, but you've also previously said that Huntelaar could be on the way over. Considering how much of the rumours around these guys is how they want to play together (with either VDV going to schalke or JKH coming here) how do you reconcile the difference? Do you think they would swap around?

Wulf.

Agree3 Disagree2

You missed super JJ.
Agree that JJ, Bentley and Bassong are going IF we can find buyers. All probably belong on Championship/lower end EPL sides and they might be happy to sit and pick up paychecks as their next contract won't be so lucrative. One of either Friedel or Gomes too as we'll bring in a young keeper. Don't know about Gio (might he get another chance with AVB?) or VdV. VdV isn't irreplaceable but he's pure class and I'd like to see him stay.

Agree6 Disagree1

Forgot to add Pienaar. Looks like he wants to go back to Everton. I don't know if he's spoken to AVB about his role in the squad next year but seems like he's not in our plans. Shame 'cos he always looks class when linking up with Baines on the left side for them. I figure he could be useful for us too.
Expect price to be an issue with Everton being flat broke and other clubs possibly involved. Messy 'cos he doesn't want to go to places like Sunderland who could meet our asking price. Reckon it will end up being somewhere between 3.5m - 4m.

Agree3 Disagree1

If AVB plays the high line then Daws days have to be numbered. He's joust not quick enough.
Having said that, I don't think AVB is going to make that mistake again. It might work in Portugal but it's much riskier in the EPL.

Agree1 Disagree1

Gio's contract only has another 12mths to run. Whilst he regularly shows flashes of brilliance for Mexico, we've never seen it in 4 years for us.
Barca where very happy to sell for a relatively low sum and none of Ipswich, Santander nor Galatasaray made an offer for him after loans and this must say something about him. must sell him in this window or we risk losing him for nothing.

Even if AVB gives him a chance, I cannot see him signing another contract - sell now while we can still get something for him is my opinion.

Flippit

Agree2 Disagree1

Rabbit - please go back to the bed side table (where you belong). Sorry view my previous posts - you will see that it was posted before your post.
Levy was in S/America to discuss a deal with International (30m) the offer for the two - nothing is concrete, but we will wait and see how thios developes. it's a very good offer, bearing in mind our "links" with the club - ZAC

Agree1 Disagree2

When anyone starts a post that like " ok - so far all the info i have posted has come to fruition " i cant but think this is what thrush would say if any of his guesses came true.

Agree1 Disagree1

It probably is him hiding under a different name - it wouldnt be the first time now would it !!

Agree1 Disagree1

What's the betting he has about 12 different names on here each one posting many different rumours .... Which ever one gets one right he will drop all the other names
And be like ha ha ha I told you fools I'm the all powerful oracle

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry to say BUT Chelski have entered the race for Oscar and we cannot compete with them!

Agree1 Disagree1

Depends if the boy wants to play or sit on the bench

Adebayor has agreed to take a £60k p/w wage cut to join us. Fee with City reported to be £5.5m (approx). I for one thought he was brilliant last season, 17 goals and 14 assists and earned us 16 points.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Before you get to carried away, how many of them goals was pens?
Poor first touch, misses to many chances for the opitunites he gets.

Agree10 Disagree2

I agree hes not the perfect striker, but he links play well, holds up the ball when req,and scores his fair share.
he does miss afew though!

Agree6 Disagree2

True.
Do we actually need Adebayor?
I don't think so.

Agree9 Disagree5

Well, I think it's about time we had someone who knows how to take a pen. How many have we missed the last few seasons?
Too many I would say.
So or not, he knows where the goal is and his work rate and hold up play is excellent.
For the money being mentioned, in my opinion, a great addition if it comes off.

Agree5 Disagree2

I would take him. He is proven goal scorer in the epl. If we sign Ade at least we know what we are getting. Why spend big money on an unproven player. Ade also should have had 2 more goals to his tally as they were mistakenly called offside. Do the deal Levy, if we get Ade try for Damaio and give Coulibaly a spot on the bench.

Agree1 Disagree3

Agree bad first touch but scored 18 assists 12 and your statement ref penalties .... 3 league pens that's all
Ade will be an amazing signing for us !
Essex Yiddo Adams

Agree2 Disagree2

His hold-up play is excellent. He is unselfish and links well with midfield. My criticism is he doesn't score enough from the chances he gets. A very good forward but not a great goal-scorer. The lazy Russian is actually better in front of goal.
Personally, I'd prefer to look elsewhere.
Still, he's a steal at 5m although, with his wages, if he loses his place then we'll have to put up with him for the remainder of his contract. I hope his contract is relatively short and bonus-laden as he does tend to wear out his welcome.

Agree2 Disagree1

Top teams are playing with small mobile strikers the day's of the big target forward are numbered a good example are Liverpool Suarez or Carroll they dont play well together so which one would you choose? Adebayor's stats look good but dont tell you about the misses and poor first touch as stated

Agree1 Disagree1

As I keep saying and all fans who watch our games know; he was robbed of 3 perfectly fine goals by dodgy linesmen, works hard and often retains the ball even with his first springy touch, get real! £5.5m and wages is a steal.

Agree4 Disagree1

The last time I looked a successful penalty equalled one goal, so not sure what you mean by that, do we ignore 5 yard tap-ins from the history of poachers like Lineker because they were easy to put away once they got there? Add on his chalked-off "offside" goals that weren't offside and he had a bloody good return. Get in a main man and i'd take a return of 20 goals and 10 assists from a 2nd striker all day long. Sign of intent from Levy and AVB. COYS.

Agree3 Disagree1

Doesn't say much for our other strikers then does it, he was the best we've had for a while in that position.
KB

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes he takes penalties, AVB has told Defoe he is staying, how many pens has he missed, Adebayor will be a very good perm signing

Agree0 Disagree1

Dont worry ,you will get plenty of pens bale signed till 2016,a lot of diving to be done in that time !!!!!

Welcome back Adebayor! - agree
Sorry man.... - disagree

Agree16 Disagree11

No one we can get is as proven to be a great scorer as ade. We throw around names like Luuk De Jong and Damiao - they are not proven outside their own leagues. Ade has shown himself to be a consistent league scorer and for 5 million would be the deal of the century. I think some people are incapable of seeing past his previous down the road. Statistically Ade was the most complete striker in the league last season, only 3 people had more assists, and 3 had more goals

Agree6 Disagree1

18 assists in the whole season. Ffs 4 of them were in the Newcastle game. That leaves 14 assists throughout the whole season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys I'm just going to point out to all those people unhappy with Adebayor .... With the goals un fairly dismissed he is the 20+ a season striker we have all been moaning about needed ... Get your heads from up your asses and see that whilst he isn't the most prolific in front of goal with players like VDV Sigs hudd Etc on the pitch that he leaves space for them and links up well for them to all come in and score too .... He is the player we have been wanting and needing and now that we have got him ( almost ) you all dismiss him.... Please for Spurs sake
Wake The Frakk Up!
Bear yid

Agree5 Disagree0

You guys are crazy!

Adabayor is a good striker. OK so he is at the bottom of the top 1/3 in the league, but he scores goals and hold up the ball.

Spurs currently have only Defoe (who is not as good as Adabayor) and you will need 2 or 3 strikers in the window regardless. £5.5 million for a good premier league striker is an absolute bargain and will allow additional funds for one or two more strikers.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes we all know adebayor is a good player and will be decent signing for spurs for sure
However what i think the wage which will go to adebayor is not reasonable with that money we should try to find forward who has potential to be a decent forward in the near
future

Tottenham are lining up a 150 - 180 k bid for Southend United youngster Kane Ferdinand, and when he joins he will go out on loan to another London based team and do half a weeks training with them and the other half with Spurs. I got this from a very reliable source and don't be surprised to see it happen in the next month...yes he is related to the world famous Ferdinand's but he's never even spoken to them so don't go by his second name.

Interesting news - Joao Moutinho has told Portos management and chairman that he wants to leave and come to Spurs to work with AVB again.

Flippit

Believable6 Unbelievable5

This isn't exactly true. Moutinho has just said he likes to work with AVB. It doesn't mean he's decided he just wants to go to Spurs. Personally, unless we don't sell Modric soon, Man United will get Moutinho.

John COYS!

Agree3 Disagree3

Time will tell my friend.

Flippit

Agree1 Disagree1

If we sell Modric, and I expect us to, I also expect us to sign Moutinho as replacement. It will also put pressure on AVB to deliver results (trophies) within 2 seasons at most.

Spurs to sign Vetroghen from ajax as the money issue should be sorted. Tottenham could sign Lenardo Diamo as his current club have signed Diego Forlan that could be a possible replacement for Diamo. Modric could be offloaded to Madrid for 30 Million maybe 30 Million + Diarra that would very good. I hope Modric leaves and Diamo comes in. A fresh start. Back Avb all the way Spurs Dude

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Why would we need Diarra?

Agree7 Disagree3

Dont need Diarra, Whos Diamo lol
shorty

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would we need diarra considering we have Sandro and and Scotty pointless.

Agree8 Disagree1

Diarra is worth around 15-20 million, that would mean Real Madrid would be paying around 50million pounds for Modric which will never happen.

HazzaHotspur

Agree2 Disagree2

Exactly don't need diarra we need a goal machine like higuain

Agree5 Disagree1

I think big Tom will be sold and maybe Diarra coming in for him.

Agree2 Disagree4

For a replacement for Modric Also good player and we could get him part of the deal or under 5 million as he has 1 year left

Agree0 Disagree3

We will not sign diarra
he has an attitude which avb would not welcome in the dressing rm.
plus we simply dont need him,and hes 29,so resale value is limited.
all in all,a non starter.

Agree3 Disagree1

Replacement for Modric???
Ridiculous. Diarra isn't a playmaker.

Agree3 Disagree0

This makes no sense at all now that 'Arry has departed. Remember Diarra played under him at Pompey and Harry does love an old boys reunion. Lets look at it realisicaly. We already have Sandro, Parker, Livermore and dont foret that soon Huddlestone will be back and would all be ahead of him. Why would he want to be 5th choice and more to he point, why would we need him and who would he displace in the starting eleven.

It is my guess that this is rumour is coming from Spain as an attempt to lower the amount if hard cash that they are going to need to find if they want Modders.

I also believe that Daniel Levy will not want him so it won't happen

Agree0 Disagree1

Tom Huddlestone could be sold as he has fallen down the pecking order
