Has anybody else heard that man city are interested in modric and could offer cash plus players, ade would be part fo the deal and either adam johnsojn or another midfield player plus about 20 - 25 million. not sure if this would be a good deal or not.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

I heard that DL doesn't want to sell Modders to another PL team. Only away to a different country. But, if we get players and that money (which seems unlikely), DL might be interested. We'll see.

John COYS!

Agree6 Disagree2

I'd take Johnson and Adebayor... And 20-25 m all day long that gets rid of 1/2 strikers we need and a winger we need for Lennon and can't also Johnson play lm ? So could cover bale if injured ... Or in need of rotation .... And 20 ish m to spend on a replacement for modric then we use the deadweight to find the other areas
Ie
+ 1 more striker *i know still fantasy but Damiao* , KJ , Remy* please no* , doumbia ... Or Instert other favoured striker
+ 1 CB JV
+ 1 Gk Lloris
And I think we well and truly would almost
be there
After all he wouldn't start their games ....
He would be fighting with nasri and silva
Bear Yid

Agree2 Disagree5

It would certainly would be something worth looking at. Ade did well last year, Adam Johnson is a cracking player when given a chance to play regularly but who would the other player be??
One question I have though would be do we need Johnson now we have Sigurdsson?

Your thoughts please.....

Agree2 Disagree1

Sigurdson and Johnson are nothing alike. Johnson is a winger and sigurdson is a centre mid. Although I did ask the question a wile back as to what we will do with Sigurdson considering he isnt going to get you more goals than Van der Vaart and he isnt as good as modric. It would be wasteful to leave him on the bench.

Agree1 Disagree3

I think siguardsson is bought with vdv leaving in mind , they are very similar players and should also make a profit from the deal if 12m is to be correct

Neil Essex Yiddo

Agree4 Disagree1

Sigurdsson played on the right side of a 4-3-3 at swansea which is the formation AVB prefers to play. i don't see how vdv fits in that team when its based on three CM's two wingers and a striker.

Agree1 Disagree2

I thought Sigurdsson played at the tip * or behind the striker in a 433 *
With joe Allen and who was the other Britton ? Just in behind

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree see the sig as replacement for VDV and a better fit in a typical AVB 4-3-3.
I don't see Ade, Johnson plus 20-25m seems steep to me for Modric ...but it might take that much to get Levy let him go to an EPL team.

Agree0 Disagree1

If its 4-3-3 I would prefer to play vdV and modric with sandro/Huddlestone/Parker holding. The passing of modric and vdv would be fantastic.

Agree1 Disagree2

Sigurdsson played in the midfield 3 for swansea, alongside allen and britton. Sinclair and dyer played wide.

Agree2 Disagree1

We do need a SQUAD and a stronger squad than last year. When VDV was out we missed his guile and goals, isn't that what Sig may be for and the fact that VDV seems to get knocks and strains and was often ready to come off after 60minutes?! Different games have different dynamics and he didn't work in all of them. Half of Harry's trouble was not being prepared to change things when certain individuals were even half-fit as he didn't have or trust the cover and alternatives to come in. We had no real back-up for Lennon and/or VDV last year which was needed. Sig was on loan at Swansea, i'm sure he should be prepared to earn his way into the first XI of a top-4 team if need be.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yer accept modric wont be there at the start of the season. So you idea/vision does not hold up

Agree2 Disagree1

I would definitely take that if true, as this would be our squad

GK: Friedel, Gomes, Cudicini

RB: Walker, Naughton

CB: Kaboul, Dawson, Caulker, hopefully Vertonghen

LB: BAE, Rose (and can't Vertonghen play LB too?)

RW: Lennon, Johnson

CM: Sandro, Parker, Hudd, Livermore

AM: VDV, Siggurdson

LM: Bale, Pienaar

ST: Defoe, Ade

Then I reckon we'd just need one more up top. Go on Levy, get us Damiao!

We can ship out Bassong, Bentley, Jenas and dos Santos

Then (with the exception of our keepers and a couple of others) that looks like a pretty young, well balanced, talented squad to me

Agree2 Disagree3

Looks a little light on creativity in CM ...if Modric goes and I expect him to we will need a Sahin, Oscar or Moutino type of character there.

Agree2 Disagree1

I would prefer the team to look a little different to your selections. Here is my prefer dream team for next year, but more likely if the funding is secured through equity share.

GK - Lloris , Friedel , Butland
LB - Perreira , BAE
CB - Dawson , Kaboul , King
CB - Vertonghen , Caulker
RB - Walker , Naughton
LM - Bale . Hoilett
CM - Moutinho , Oscar , Huddlestone
CM - Parker , Sandro , Livermore
RM - Lennon . Johnson
AM / CF - Damiao , VDV , Defoe , Adebayor

Ambitious but we can all dream.

Apparently Vertonghen said last week that he feels that the spurs move had broken down and he was ready to play for Ajax again. With the new manager appointed, do you think we will get Vertonghen again or has our chance gone? and also, i hear that spurs have a £100 million budget. Please be true!

The Sledgehammer

Believable4 Unbelievable4

It was reported to day that we are back in negotiations and maybe willing to stump up to the 12 million wanted however, it was in the Metro -.-

James_THFC

Agree4 Disagree0

100 million after modric sold

Agree2 Disagree3

Verts is basically saying to Ajax that if no deal is done, he will train and play 100% as normal. He showing them that he is willing to see out his contract and talk to us in jan and sign a pre contract, therefore, costing Ajax 10mill euro. He is trying to force tree hand. He will be a spurs player sooner rather than later. I'm sure of that

Agree5 Disagree0

It's a 40 million kitty and any money up to 100 million from selling players, well thats what it said in the sun

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm thinking we will still get him, just about playing hardball and making Ajax pay the amount they owe him. They are contracted to do so. Just seems to be taking forever.

Agree3 Disagree1

If I were Ajax * obviously I may have a biased opinion because we want him* but I'd rather take 12m give Him a 15% cut than in a year get absolute bugger all ... Almost like cutting your nose to spite your face kinda thing

Agree4 Disagree2

I suspect the 15% cut to JV leaves Ajax finances in the red still, probably not by much I Admit. But I recall hearing something about if they get 12m for him their books would finish the season in the black.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people insist on reading and believing The Sun

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh cheers guys, let's just hope we get a world class striker in to bring glory back to the lane

Not so much a transfer rumour, but I think we are all hearing buyout snippets.

Rumour Ive got is that the Kuwaiti firm are pumping in an initial £100m for ten year naming rights on the new stadium. And to buy out Lewis completely, eventually, with Levy still at the helm. Not knowing the financial fair play rules, but didn't I hear that revenue generated by such things as naming rights does not count therefore as Sugar Daddy money, albeit just a sleight of hand? So before people laught at £100m for not permanent, but yearly naming rights, would be a good way to inject money around these fair play rules, and so remains worthwhile for a billionaire Oilrab to play Playboy status games?

Does this mean anyone who sold permanent rights to name a stadium have permanently lost a revenue stream that could limit them if they have a sugar daddy?

I have no ITK but this is an amalgam from various sources that are popping up from unconnected mouths I encounter day to day in North London.

Something big is clearly happening at the top level.

tone the bone

Believable2 Unbelievable4

The FFP is cloudy on these matters for instance if Levy and Co were to sell 20% of the club for say £300m could they invest that money into the club? Utd have huge amounts of debt will they be stopped from playing in the Champs League? I think City did something very similar to the naming rights at the Etihad

Agree2 Disagree0

United are listing in the US for a reason.

Agree1 Disagree0

MAnU is listing on the NYSE in order to raise 65m. Does not sound good for Manu's financial situation

Spurs Ins:
Gylfi Sigurdsson-Hoffenheim(confirmed)
Jan Vertonghan-Ajax
Joao Moutinho-Porto
Demba Ba-Newcastle
Emmanuel Adebayor-Spurs
Alvaro Perreria-Porto
Douglas-FC Twente

Believable6 Unbelievable14

This would be fantastic... then get rid of the dead wood e.g. bentley, jenas, pinear, gomes, bassong, gallas, king(move him into coaching), huddlestone(as he doesnt fit in our team anymore as we will have either parker or sandro then 2 playmakers which huddlestone isnt) and dos santos. If we do this and get those players you suggested then we can definately take the premier league title !!!!!!! COYS

Agree4 Disagree7

Strongly doubt most of them apart from Vertonghen and Moutinho.

Agree6 Disagree2

If we get them I will be happy
shorty

Agree5 Disagree1

Don't get rid of dos santos or hudds, hudds is one of the best holding mids in England and gio is a ready made sub/competition for lennon !

Agree6 Disagree4

I doubt we would pay £25m for Moutinho
.....

Agree2 Disagree7

Hudds one of the best holding midfielders in England?? What a ludicrous claim.

Agree7 Disagree7

Take the premier league title? Why not try getting top 4 first?

Agree5 Disagree5

We would pay 25m for moutinho, we have 100m to spend. Does that include what we get if Modric leaves or is that just how much Levy has given us?

Agree0 Disagree1

We got top 4 last season

Agree8 Disagree1

I'm pretty sure Spurs finished 4th last year?!

Agree8 Disagree1

Top 4.....weve been there and done it,onwards and upwards

Agree5 Disagree1

Huddlestone injury prone , dos santos been sold and so is modric and maybe even van der vaart although he may stay after talks with manager

Agree3 Disagree2

We have to keep Hud..quality passer of the balla nd had one of the most powerfull shots ive seen...tome,Gio is a waste of time...get him out the club..i know he lks gd for mexico but we arnt mexico are we? Where AVBS mighty yids and we dnt need lil gio sulking about for another 3 years

All,

I said earlier that we will sign a striker. I got some stick for not naming the player (espicially from Beer Yid). I can confirm that this will be Loic remy by 12th July!

Spurs4Life

Believable7 Unbelievable7

I didn't give you stick ? When ?
If you said remy the only stick I would have given would have been I don't want Remy as I don't feel he's good enough... Thats it I really only give stick to the oracle and only because he's stark raving mad
Bear yid

Agree5 Disagree2

Certainly hope so as he would suit Spurs to a tee, Just hope we sign a few players soon as we start pre season training on Monday 9th.

PS Welcome to the Lane G.Sigurdsson..

foxspur

Agree8 Disagree2

Foxspur, Bear Yid

For once it seems like we are doing good business early doors instead of waiting until the last minute.

Hopefully this will help players settle in before the Newcastle game.

I like Remy, think he will be a good signing.

This wont be a popular view but hoping we cash in on VDV as well. Sigurdsson seems a good replacement.

Spurs4Life

Agree3 Disagree1

Sorry, forgot to say - ED you got any views on Remy? Heard anything about his arrival....?

Spurs4Life {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard anything about him arriving, but I have to be honest I am not a fan, he is not a player I rate at all. But he is quick and decent in the air, maybe AVB can get the best out of him, but what I have seen was not good.}

Agree3 Disagree1

I agree with what your saying spurs4life, I just hope apart from the vdv part, he's my fav player atm :-) I just really hope we have the main elements sorted b4 our tour of america starts i.e the striker, Vertonghen situation and the modric saga...wether we are keeping him or replacing him asap..

I can definitely see a Portuguese player joining b4 Aug 1st not sure who, hopefully Moutinho just to help AVB settle...

Either way G.Sigurdsson is a great acquisition for the club and stolen from under Liverpool's nose shows the clubs intent..

foxspur

Agree2 Disagree0

Spurs4life I fully agree it seems as if even with what's going on with Levys family issues he's pulled his finger out early this year rather than hang back and try to get that extra 500k-1 m off a deal and then have someone not doing a full preseason
* don't mistake that for me being against levy I think he's a frakking awesome chairman *
The Sigurdsson deal/steal I love I think he will develop into a great player .. I mentioned back around jan/feb time when watching Swansea play I thought he would fit in well with us * I didn't claim we would get Him not doing an oracle xD *
I for the first time in 2 seasons feel very optomistic about the forth coming season so long as we can secure a few more players we desperately need ... And I'm a pessimist xD
Bear yid

Agree3 Disagree1

Also ^^ agreed with the vdv thing to an extent I love him ... However he doesnt have the best work rate ... But if we play 433 he will fit perfectly there and even be able to mentor Sigs ....
I also don't get people saying oh AvB didn't sign or want him so he's not going to get play time or etc ...... Do they realise he agreed the deal as well ?

Ed do you know any updates on the situation of Vertonghen?
I think he would be a class signing for Spurs and im hoping now that AVB is in place they might be able to push a deal through, thoughts? {Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out, the issue is purely between the player and Ajax, so not a lot Spurs can do, unless they offer to pay a little more to ease the deal through.}

AVB, Sigurdsson, Vertonghen, Moutinho and Soon Damiao will make it a fist full. I wonder what you will say in a few more months time when the Olympic Stadium debacle is opened up again.

I am beginning to wonder whether it will all be attributed to some lucky prediction. Sure many laughed when I said AVB but now seem warm to the idea, most baulked at Vertonghen when I posted his name and called me deluded as he was going to link up with Vernaelen. Damiao has been linked with 23 clubs and I have been lambasted on each occasion, you told me I was an person for linking Sigurdsson and dogmatically told me we didn't need him as we had Modric. Only ED was wise enough to agree with my Modric will be sold predictions. The Olympic Stadium debacle continues and only the informed amongst you know that it is still very much a long game.

Ok so I am jumping the boat with so many of these deals still far from fruition, but I am beginning to wonder what excuses will be made from the serial abusers. One thing is certain and that is I always have views and knowledge and stick with them. It seems most ridicules and write scathing posts only to then get on the band wagon when the show comes to town.

So watch this space as we move into a new era at White Hart Lane, or should I say Tottenham Olympic.

The Oracle

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Most of these names would be welcome by me at the Lane.

I still can't beleive we're linked in any way with the Olympic stadium and really don't see it happening.

The area north of WHL has been aquired by Spurs, along with a lot of property in the area, and preparation work for building looks to have started (it's at ground level anyway). Why would the club want to make this level of investment in the district of Tottenham just to walk away and leave their land/property holdings hugely de-valued (which it would be if the club were not in the area). Not good business sense!

ou812 {Ed001's Note - hardly a big up to you for saying AVB two weeks after I had said him on here is it Oracle? You just saw the reports on Sly Sports, the odds drop (both after I said he was first choice) and put 2 and 2 together and came up with the right answer. It would be the same as me claiming it was info if Raul Meireles signs for Spurs, it's not info, it is an educated guess. AVB loves him, he was his one signing at Chelsea and Chelsea are looking to sell him, so, adding it together, there is a good chance he will sign for Spurs. Though there are a couple of Italian clubs in for him too.}

Agree4 Disagree1

Maybe the ORACLE is Daniel levy

Agree2 Disagree1

Omg oracle just please shut up now .... Stop the bulls**t claims ..... Don't you dare say you were the first to say AvB would be coming I know for a fact you were not and I even posted as much a few weeks ago that you would try to take credit for it when it does happen .... Please stop the bulls**t I'm now begging

I'm sorry it appears you are claiming you had more predictions than I read .. I was just so annoyed that I didn't read you claimed vertonghen was coming first bull...
Sigurdsson ... Actually I was the first to comment about him back when he went to Swansea in January ... But I didnt predict we would grab him just speculating that he would fit well with us .... The Damiao thing you've now been wrong for 4 windows .... Stop it and the Olympic stadium just drop its not happening ... If it does I will gladly come find you get on my knees and let you cock slap me
Bear yid

Agree3 Disagree1

Meireles to sign for spurs,,,you heard it here first

the COMICAL

Agree3 Disagree2

They have started ground works to the new stadium already, it will take up part of the curren WHL footprint. Part of the stadium will be built then the team will move into the new partially built stadium & at that point the old stands will be demolished do construction can continue.

How can you still be talking about the Olympic stadium?

Either deluded or a wum

Agree1 Disagree0

POO UPDATE -

He's (Opps, I mean it's) back !

Now your trying to claim AVB, Sigurdsson and Moutinho were all yours too are you? ffs man, do you really think we are thst thick?
As for the Olympic Stadium, when it came to the stage of placing bids on the second, rearranged bidding process WE DIDN'T EVEN BID! We are not even in the list of choices. Daniel Levy is a very clever man (which why we know your not him) and he just used it to get a better bargaining position at the table with the council.

You said after your last pittiful transfer window that if we didnt like what you post that you would leave and then we would all be sorry. Do us all a favour and give us the option to choose that for ourselves by enjoying your prolonged absence.

Your not impressing anyone and you went way past funny a very long time ago.

ALL IN FAVOUR CLICK AGREE.......

Agree10 Disagree2

I think most people predicted Luka would be moving when we failed to get CL football, to suggest only you and the ed predicted it is pretty farcical

Agree2 Disagree0

Exactly as predicted the show has come to town and the masses jump on the band wagon.

Now let's look at the stadium claimed above who says the new foundations have already been laid. We're exactly have these been laid, bearing in mind the new stadium WHL proposal is on top of the existing one. The only thing that has happened is the purchase of a load of crappy run down shops, but this property acquisition has been happening for years as Spurs have extended their merchandise shops.

Damiao will soon be announced and then in the future the stadium will ensure someone has sore cheeks.

The Oracle

Agree0 Disagree0

So basically the Thrush has stated something that is obviously not true but being the pathological liar that he is he really believes it! He will be the only one in his fantasy stadium and I think that is a good thing.Damiao is not coming to WHL and never will .

Agree0 Disagree0

To Oracle.
Spurs will build 3/4 of our new stadium whilst we still play home games at the lane. We will then move into a 3/4 finished stadium (which will already have a higher capacity than WHL even though only part built) while the lane is demolished before finishing the building of the "higest bidder stadium" during the following off season.

The diagrams and plans where posted on the official Spurs site along time ago that could be seen by all. It was under the future plans section covering both the new training ground AND the stadium.

Bear in mind that -
1) We own all the land.
2) We have spent millions of pounds demolishing and making safe.
3) We've done all the plans.
4) We have secured funding from council.
5) We have nearly secured funding from an as yet unnamed middle eastern source to help fund the build.
6) We didn't even enter a bid for the Olympic Stadium in the properly run second bidding process. Leyton Orient and The Spammers where the only football clubs that did bid.
7) Daniel Levy has openly said that if we couldnt demolish and rebuild without a running track, then we wouldnt be interested - the track hads to remain.

Etc Etc Etc.

Considering all the points that I have politely raised (in particular number 6), would you please explain why it is you keep persisting with your Olympic Stadium claim.

I have asked nicely, yet some how I cant but think that you wont answer at all, other than your usual claims of being picked on.

I want to know why do you keep persisting with it? Why keep putting your head on the block over and over on something that is so obviously nOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Please answer the question. I await you reply and hope that I/we wont be waiting long.
