Hi Eds,

After his good nights sleep, reports coming from Spain are as follows.

This evening they say that the deal to take Soldado to Tottenham Hotspur is done, and is only awaiting a transfer of payments to be formalised.

Have you heard anything along these lines. ?

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Something to do with agent fees is all that's left the agents want money of valencia or something, its out of our hands now we have agreed the deal its up to the agents and valencia to sort out the final hurdle

Agree4 Disagree3

With regards too a supposed 100 million bale fee I wounder if real actually was thinking a simmalar fee that moderic went for would be enougth but media hype has inflated it. i'm hoping that even they would think twice for paying that. Ed. what exactly does a team have too do too be charged with tapping up a player for gods sake. And too the villa closet spurs fan. Its ok mate, take the snip! {Ed001's Note - for starters Spurs would need to make a complaint.}

Agree0 Disagree2

As long as the club doesn't approach the player directly then there is NO problem.

Agree2 Disagree5

Bale will be gone in the next 24 hours, Levi has given up and talks are starting, let hope the soldado move happens as we will need firepower now!

Agree4 Disagree3

Lol 5 disagrees. seems no one likes to hear what the law says

Bale tells avb he wants to leave
Broken now on talk sport
Rich e rich

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Talks**** haha. Did they have someone in the room with avb and bale. They also 'report ' bale trained with team mates when he's injured atm.

Yid d.

Agree2 Disagree5

If Bale goes we need replacements before we sell as prices well go up if teams know we have 85m from bale sale.

Agree4 Disagree4

Cant believe anyone that refers to John Scales as a Spurs legend.

Agree6 Disagree2

We should let Bale leave for Real Madrid or Man U, so we have some funds to spend.

Agree3 Disagree7

Man uni? i'd throw up if I seen Bale in a united jersey!

Agree14 Disagree5

There Hasn't been a single quote and yet tv believe he has asked to leave. It's just stupid they need stories to feed there viewers is all

Agree6 Disagree2

If any of us came on here with such a story with no evidence or sources we'd be (rightly) hounded as being a wind up merchant with no credible knowledge.

If someone in the business of creating sensational stories to sell newspapers / advertising space on websites comes up with such a story with no evidence or sources then it gets believed. ?

All you have to do is follow the trail. And if the source is TalkSport. well enough said.

Agree6 Disagree1

Breaking on tv now

Agree1 Disagree6

on tv but no quotes. Like another poster said, did they have someone in the room when they were talking?

Agree2 Disagree2

Sell him, buy lamela and with the help of avb he could be better then bale an he is younger and we will still have over £50m lol. end of next season bale who

Agree3 Disagree4

I hope he goes there and he flops badly. he will soon miss us fans chanting his name every game.

Agree5 Disagree13

To the above poster - it's disgusting you could even say that about a player who has given so much to the club. If he goes I for one will wish him well and hope he does well

Agree12 Disagree4

People are quick to forget incredible goals, hat-tricks against Champions League opposition and the like, aren't they?! Let us not forget that arguably one of his finest contributions to our club may be yet to come; a fee in the region of £85 plus a player is quite a parting gesture from the man.

Agree8 Disagree2

While we're at it let's give sol Campbell a hug yeah? Tottenham till we die and we (unrealistic ally) expect that of our great players. It's a 2 way street we stuck by him whilst he was pants and he said he would stay and fight with spurs next season. To then go back on that means fans have the right to turn on him.

Agree4 Disagree3

Sol Campbell went for nothing to our greatest rivals. It's hardly similar to bale going for a WORLD RECORD fee, and leaving the country where he can't inflict any damage on us.

It's utterly ridiculous to expect Spurs to attract world class players if you also want absolute loyalty to the club. If you expect that, then frankly you have absolutely no idea about football.

Which is fine, but maybe it's best not to make it so publically known.

Agree4 Disagree2

Well said spud. It's funny how quick people want Parker and ekotto gone because we have out grown them but when a player out grows us they "have no loyalty". It works both ways and I'm sure advisors and agents are quick to remind thier players of this.

Agree4 Disagree2

Football like religion creates irrational emotions and behaviours so I totally get how fickle we as football fanatics are. I can't justify or condone why I want to punch someone wearing an arsenal shirt, man woman or child, in the face but I do. So to slate people who have views about loyalty maybe men's you're not as passionate as they are about spurs. Of course no player is going truly loyal but we can tell ourselves whilst they wear our shirt that they are

Baines and robben on the short list

Believable2 Unbelievable11

I doubt this. If Baines was to leave Everton, which still looks unlikely this window, it surely must be to United? Also we wouldn't have much space for Robben in our current setup? With Bale, Townsend, Chadli and Lennon able to play as wingers in the 4-3-3 formation?

Unless of course we sell 1-2 of these players.

Caulker believed to be in Cardiff undergoing a medical. 8. 5Mil. Good deal or not? Future England defender going to waste imo.

Agree9 Disagree4

For the right price, we can get Baines but I doubt Robben will come unless we pay him something like 200k/week!

Agree6 Disagree2

Well where going to have to make a long list then

Agree3 Disagree1

Take it messi is also on your list?

Agree2 Disagree2

Baines only leaving Everton for Manchester United

Agree6 Disagree6

Polite message here from delighted Villa fan.
Allow me to advise you that without Saint Gareth of Wales who looks certain to leave you for a much bigger club than you are, you will be relegation fodder this year.
After you spent months trying to unsettle our best player, how does it feel having the same done to you-not nice is it?
The biter bit it seems.
Good luck in division 1 the season after this.

Agree12 Disagree19

You my dear chap, are as deluded as the word can get. Relegation?

Look at the quality of incoming players. Bitter much? Jeez, and what of this obsession with Spurs man?

Crankyid

Agree13 Disagree4

Wow villa fans actually exist. Congratulations on keeping benteke saves crying yourself to sleep every night. You struggled last year with him and guess what your struggle again.

900

Agree16 Disagree5

What an absolute tool. For a start, your best player put in a transfer request, he didn't need to be unsettled. For seconds, we asked what the price was and it was laughable so that was that. Nobody made any serious offers for that person and so he went back for a new contract with his tail between his legs.
As far as we're concerned, we have the biggest team in the world wanting to smash the world record transfer to take away a fantastic player who had not asked to leave beforehand so, not quite the same is it? As for relegation fodder, I think we'll struggle for top 4 or 5 without spending a decent amount of the fee (which Levy won't) but please, we'll still finish above you even if we were playing with 10 men every week.
Simmo

Agree11 Disagree3

Villa fan. this is hilarious. Our u-21's would be capable of getting a result at Villa park these days. also. I don't ever recall Spurs unsettling Benteke?!

Agree10 Disagree4

To the villa fan, you are clearly a Muppet. First, not that it would happen but if we were relegated then next season we would be in the championship not division 1, you obviously have no clue.

Also without Bales goals last season we would have 25 points less, which would still give us 47 points finishing in 9th, quite a bit above you still. You may argue the assists he made, well that was only 5. Had he not been there then someone else surely would have scored or assisted at least once.

Now you already have 2 players and with 85 million I suspect we would get at least another one.

I know you think we tapped up Benteke but I think it was more wishful thinking on your side that you had a player worth tapping up. Go back to your page and let us Spurs fans worry about our team.

Heed

Agree9 Disagree2

What makes you say we unsettled Benteke? We never were going to pay the money for him and fyi, we will get £85+ for Bale while ye could get pittens for Benteke when he eventually leaves ye should he have a stinker next year!

Agree6 Disagree2

Even if Bale leaves we will bring in 2 or 3 top quality internationals from the top teams,
unlike villa who shop in the bargain basement,
i think villa will finish bottom.
championship is about your level.

Agree5 Disagree4

To troll another teams site shows a serious character flaw, rather sad really.

Agree7 Disagree3

I think if you ask the ed's they will tell you Spurs did not bid for your player and in fact it was he who tried to get a move to us. As for who will end up going down well we were not the ones last year fighting for our life at the end of the year. One of Spurs & Villa might drop but sadly for you we have the money to stay up and the players you my friend do not.
Spursmad Dave. {Ed008's Note - An enquiry was made Liverpool done the same thing yet no Villa fans are on the Liverpool page? Always on here nothing else better to do I guess.

Agree6 Disagree1

Meant robben when bail goes and still think bains as well

Agree0 Disagree2

Not a huge fan of Caulker. Hope the lad proves me wrong as he seems like a good character, but for me £8.5m can get us a lot better.

Agree4 Disagree2

You Spurs fans are such a bunch of clowns it's unbelievable. Everyone knows that your lot tapped up Benteke and his slimy agent and encouraged him to put in a transfer request so that we would let him go. You then promised to sign him but welshed on the deal because your smarmy chairman wouldn't pay the required fee and tried to get him on the cheap which we wouldn't let him do, leaving the player in limbo. They say the truth hurts and you lot wouldn't recognise it if it bit you on the backside. RELEGATION FODDER. {Ed008's Note - Where's your proof? All talk back it up with some facts please.

Agree4 Disagree4

Baines will not be joining spurs. Why would he?

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed the only reason they are so bitter is because Benteke was interested in joining a "bigger" club and saw spurs as such a club. Now for Villa fans it's hard to grasp that spurs are a bigger club than Villa at present. That's why they don't visit the Liverpool page with such comments as they see Liverpool as a bigger club so wouldn't have minded the move as much. If any of that makes sense?

Agree1 Disagree1

I can't believe such statements are being made by a villa fan calling us relegation fodder - have you hibernated your little head the whole season, you were the one's scrapping at the bottom not us. Unreal

Agree1 Disagree0

Aston Villa have been a mediocre club for decades. Taylor, O'Leary, O'Neil, Houlier, McLeish and Lambert all talked about glory, yet the club have done nothing.

Look at the last 10 years alone
2003 - 6th
2004 - 10th
2005 - 16th
2006 - 11th
2007 - 6th
2008 - 6th
2009 - 6th
2010 - 9th
2011 - 16th
2012 - 15th
Average Position = 10th place

You talk about Benteke like he is a great player. Even John Carew notched up a fair few goals, and he was terrible. Everyone knows Benteke tried to orchestrate a big money move. The truth is the big clubs didn't want him, and the interest was merely to see if they could snap him up on the cheap. Mark my words he is totally one dimensional and will flop to around 14 goals this season.

Your team is a mess and Lanbert probably got blinded by your exaggerated ambition. Like the last decade you will finish around the mid table, but all the league will be laughing if a few promoted teams get a run on you. Prediction 12th place, and far more likely to be relegated than challenging the top 4.

Goodbye you Holte End fruitcake, and good luck this season, by jolly you'll need it!

Agree4 Disagree1

Relegation Fodder! Really.

Grow up mate, I now the 6 weeks holiday have started and it seems you may have been out in the sun a bit to long, get mummy to put a little sun tan lotion on.

As for tapping up Benteke, he put in a transfer request which some clubs responded to with enquirys, such as spurs but when the price Villa quoted was plucked out of dream land, our chairman pulled away because even he knew that Benteke wasn't more than £12m as this season will prove, Look at it logically £25m for a 1 season wonder who throws his toys from the pram to force moves or £26m for a seasoned striker with 80 goals in 140 goals in the top spainish league, a Spainish international, world cup, euro cup and confed cup winner, a true professional.
Good luck for this season I think your going to need it.

Ed, is there any truth in the chi riches rumours and what's the hold up with Soldado? {Ed001's Note - chi riches? Soldado is just waiting on a replacement being brought in, then he should be over for a medical. Unless something dramatic has changed over night that I am unaware of!}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ha ha, its a new defender that we have supposedly bought Ed & not Valencias attempt to buy Chicarito. Lol

Ed, any truth in Torres being a replacement for Saldado? Surely if their off loading people, then they couldn't afford his wages?

Thanks Alfie {Ed002's Note - It is a possibility.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I think he'd take a wage cut to get back to Spain in a world cup year.

Graham Hunter tweeted he believes the Soldado deal is done.

Fingers crossed.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Supposed to be close to a done deal.

Agree1 Disagree1

Tv are saying its done but there are some problems with the agent

Agree1 Disagree2

Think the problem is with Valencia and the agents so its out of our hands.
