Reports in Portugal suggest we are close to signing Eric dier from sporting Lisbon. 20 year old English international who had offers from Everton and Newcastle before choosing us. That's the report.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Looks like £3.6m and loaned back for a year, still leaves us short for this season in the middle.

Done deal, that was rather quick

Hi Ed's,

Is there any further updates on Morgan Schneiderlin looking to hand in a transfer request.?

Believable7 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - last I heard was it was refused yesterday, hence the Twitter whinge. I would expect he will just step up his efforts to leave, it seems he is desperate to go.}

Any updates on Scneiderlin eds?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - nothing new mate, it will probably be a few days before anything changes there. Most likely when they buy a replacement.}

I guess then it won't change until the legends match in Sunday! Thanks Ed 001

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed008's Note - I think Taider is his replacement the deal they have with Inter to swap/loan Osvaldo in exchange for him so once that's gone through IMO I think we could see a transfer happen but do Spurs really need another Midfield player along with Bentelab,Paulinho,Sandro,Carroll and Dembele? I don't think so.

The thing is Ed, he is a lot better than Carroll, Bentaleb, Capuoe, etc

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed008's Note - Oh I forgot about Capuoe! But he's no better then Sandro or Dembele IMO who will be the 2 in midfield.

I agree davo I hope Paulinho and Capoue depart leaving Schneiderlin with Sandro as cover and Dembele with Bentaleb as cover, we then have Eriksen with holtby as cover. That IMO is a good midfield three with internationals as back up who can play a big part in the cup and in Europe. That's not mentioning Carroll who will probably be sent out on loan or be a bit part player if he stays.

Agree1 Disagree1

I don't know why we don't play Carroll, I think he's a great forward thinking midflieder. He deserves playing time over Bentaleb IMO.

Agree2 Disagree1

Would play Carroll over Bentaleb, buT wouldn't play Bentaleb much anyway . My problem with Carroll is he is too small and too easy to knock off the ball . He really struggled at QPR last season .

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry davo, but I think Carroll is overrated, I think his showing on the tour was great evidence of this. Bentaleb had a great World Cup and is a year younger than caroll.

QPR fans were not impressed with caroll at Allan's that's championship level. Besides they play slightly different positions; caroll an attacking mid, bentaleb a defensive mid. I would loan caroll but not bentaleb next season.

Agree1 Disagree2

That is my fear about Lamela for all his trickery and skill I hold my breath until I see him put in regular solid shifts against some of the PL mid table and below teams when skill levels may not be as high and defensive physicality is more evident.

Heard from my friend at THFC that there was a big disagremment at senior management level. Poch and the board had a very big argument regarding the board not backing Poch specificlly regarding Ath Madrid buying Greizmann. What I heard was Poch was furious spurs didn't match the bid from Ath Madrid as that was the main barrier for him joining us. Would appreciate other feedback on this. Can ed's shed any light on this? Heard Rojo is being looked at (argentina LB). do you know if there is any truth to this?

Cheers

Are you sure your mate isn't a gooner in disguise Connor?
No disrespect my friend but he said lamela was desperate for a move to Italy, yet he seems pretty happy with poch to me.

ssn reporters thought we weren't interested in griezman in the first place (maybe he was too expensive)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - Their is info regarding the Griezmann bid from Spurs on the pages from Ed001/Ed002.

Do any of you have a real world job?
If so, in which business would a "senior management bust up" be leaked and posted onto a rumor site?!
Or is your friend actually Daniel Levy?

I do enjoy the speculation, but some of these posts say a lot about the people posting them!

Agree4 Disagree0

Haha spursrdeemer he very well could be. He mentions things to me and I just regurgitate it. Sometimes he is right, sometimes he is wrong. I don't know anyone else really in football so I can't validate what he tells me hence why I put it here.

Sorry was quite drunk when I wrote last nights, specifically he was saying it was regarding getting financing for deals which is where the frustration came from. Just what I was told could be utter rubbish…Senior management was my way of saying decision makers as I don't know the structure or how it operates.

Agree2 Disagree0

To Spurs1976 I would argue Bruno Iksil's 6 Billion pound loss and the fall out that ensued was regarding senior management. I was made aware of the bust up about 5 months before it made the news while they tried to unwind. JP is a multi-national giant.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the surprise in a row at the club between senior level staff finding it's way on to the internet? People with grudges, grievances, agendas leak stuff all the time at all levels of business, politics, etc. THFC PR do it all the time, especially during transfer windows. Where do you think most the transfer stories in media come from?

And not really unusual if Poc did have a bust up with Levy for not buying the players he's asked for is it. we've been here before a few times.

Agree1 Disagree1

If MoPo and Levy are at odds already that does not bode well, especially if the rumors of AVB and Levy falling out were behind his departure.

How long before Joe Lewis steps in and let's football people run the business operations and finance people take care of the books.

@Yellow-card

I'd say fairly long considering J Lewis main aim is to invest as little as possible in the club.

I'd say Poc was safe for now, even if we finish below 6th this year. Levy can use the new stadium as an excuse for not spending much in the windows. That's how he's going to 'sell' the upcoming poor seasons to the fans. They'll be no pushing for CL 4th spot anymore. Poc will only get the push if he does a harry and starts badgering the management for players and leaks his dissatisfaction to the press.

Agree2 Disagree0

The Eds suggested that Levy might be on a short leash a few days ago. Lewis wants to see CL football to ensure the success of the new stadium.

Levy can't feel too secure the number of missteps of late.

Why is it that when I think about past successful teams; it is the "manager" that has shone as the lead character.

Will Mr Levy ever take a back seat and let a manager make his mark?

Its sad that the most conversations I have had over the past few years is about people coming or going, less about our football.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a manager that lasts more than 2 seasons before he can be a "lead" figure . Not many of Levy's appointments get that much time.
