rumour has it piennar as already agreed to go bck to everton 6month loan all signed and sealed u heard anything ed {Ed001's Note - nothing solid, just rumours and wishful thinking.}

Would make sense, I can't see him getting much playing time at Spurs. I think this might be where the Rodwell spec has sprung from
I can't see why we would want Rodwell given we have four better midfielders already so maybe it's just speculation because of Pienaar

Name your four better holding players than rodwell? dont embarrass yourself and say either sandro or huddlestone though, parker and thats it, but hes what 32, so yeah a 20 year old rodwell would do nicely in with luka modric i rekon for spurs

What do you mean embarrass ourselves? Sandro is better than Rodwell easily. Sandro: regular for Brazil, captain of the team that won the south American champions league all aged 22! He will be one of the best in the world in a few years. Huddlestone has been plagued by injury in the last few years, but his passing and shooting is simply unbelievable. Finally, it's not just holding mids he referenced! Centre mids like modric are better. So to review, 4 cm's better than rodwell: Parker (only 30), modric, sandro and huddlestone is at least on his level.

Deluded is what you are, Lucas at Liverpool was class in brazil as where the twins at united sandro is not a regular for brazil either and none of them players are setting the prem alight after being great in brazil, sandro is 3 years older than rodwell yet rodwells far closer to being world class than him, huddlestone is slow and injury prone, yes he can pass and shoot from distance but box to box and creating an opportunity rodwells 3 times as good, modric obv world class and a lot better than rodwell however Parker may edge it ATM but two years rodwell will be unbelievable in that holding role, perfect replacement to be edged in slowly now, so really it's modric that's better than him that's it, but there aint exactly many better than him on planet earth but give rodwell time and players like luka round him and I reckon he will be unbelievable, but seriously if sandro and Tom hud

Why spend money on the Rodwell now then if we have another two years, surely midfield is not a priority for us and if it was a right/left sided one would be much more worthwhile for cover...

Why spend the money now if we have two years?! are you mental? spurs have got to where they are now by staying ahead of the game and signing bright young players (bale, lennon, dawson, walker, assou-ekotto, modric, huddlestone, do you need more?!) so it would be absolutely stupid to wait 2 years to sign him whilst running the risk of utd or city coming in first and even if they don't his price will increase massively in two years. 10m+pienaar for rodwell would be an absolute steal in my eyes

I agree with the last post other than your crazy if you think everton will take pienaar a 30 year old who isnt as good as their current left mid in drenthe whos younger than 24, along with 10 million, henderson went for 16 plus, your talking more likely deal being 18 and krancjar to get him

I fully agree we don't need him now, but he could be a great and is definitely a future England regular.

I think the price would be around 20-23mill, rather than 10+Pienaar. (Everton are not mugs) or 18 + Kranjcar seems a good price for everyone involved, the players and the teams.

I do think Sandro is becoming the next Scotty Parker. And in my opinion, Sandro, Parker and Modric are better than Rodwell
