Ed008, interesting that Marcotti retweeted Pedrocnns tweet, a very reliable source! For me thats as good as done.

spurs guvnor {Ed008's Note - Yeah I saw that aswell I retweeted it aswell should find some more info by tomorrow morning.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

He is in Monaco atm isn't he? So hope he tweets if he gets the answer we all hope for...

foxspur

Agree3 Disagree0

I seen the tweet of it if its true that moutinho be a spurs player by friday i will marry me sisters cat,i will celebrate like spurs won the CL if we pull it off!

Agree3 Disagree0

Check his website,,,we would have to pay above 30mill to get him, wonder if we will smash the record for him, anyway, IMO we wil bust it for llorente, heres hoping , ay
YidAde

Agree1 Disagree1

As much as I like Moutinho we already have a playmaker just a waste of money that we could spend on Willian,Llorente etc. {Ed008's Note - I'm hearing Cabaye could be a possibility.

Smurf
just wait peeps {Ed008's Note - Did you see this from the tweet from the Portuguese journalism?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Might have done :/ {Ed008's Note - Interesting Marcotti a reliable journalist retweeted it will look for more info from Ed002.

Agree1 Disagree2

Just read, Berba has turned down both foirntina and juve. Rumour is he is to join fulham,to link up with MJ again.
So juventus still looking for a striker and will Berba turn up at spurs again.

Agree1 Disagree2

How will i sleep now, with that news! lol
Dan84

Agree2 Disagree2

I just seen a few different tweets saying that we will sign mouthino in the nxt 48 hours??is there any truth to this?
Dapz

Agree2 Disagree2

Blimey, if this comes off too them my opinion is vdv will def be off.
I'm still waiting for lloris and a striker to come in lol
With the players we have signed + lloris= £60million.
Moutinho, maybe willian, affalley on loan(with a view to buy) and a striker, then levy is looking at £150million
Can he spend that much??

Agree2 Disagree3

Can Levy afford it? FFP and all that. This is a question I was asking myself afew days ago, so I crunched some numbers - here are my findings.

These figures cover transfer windows since (and including) Jan 2011 and do not include loans as they pritty much cancel each other out.

Player sales -
Peter Crouch - £12m
Robbie Keane - £3.5m
Wilson Palacios - £6m
Roman Pavlyuchenko - £8m
Alan Hutton - £3m
Jamie O'Hara -£5m
Steven Pienaar -£4.5m
Sebastian Bassong -£4m
Niko Kranjaer -£5.5
Vedran Corluka -£5.5
Luke's Modric -£33m
David Button -£0.5m

Total Sales -£90.5m

Player Purchases:

Scott Parker -£5m
Bongani Khumalo -£1.5m
Steven Piennar -£3m
Moussa Dembale -£15m
Emmanuel Adebayor -£5m
Gylfi Sigurdsson -£6.8m
Jan Vertonghan -£10m

Total spend : £46.3million.

Profit from player trading is £44.2million and then we can add all other sources of income and wage savings. So yes, I think we can afford it and still stay within the FFP rules!

No doubt I'll get loads of disagrees, but the figures are the figures and my opinions are my opinions.

Flippit.

Moussa Sissoko linked with a move to Wolfsburg. 'SportBild' are quoting a €4-5m fee.

Rafael van der Vaart has agreed to a three-year deal with Hamburg, but the German club and Tottenham Hotspur are still nearly £5 million apart on the transfer fee, according to Bild.

Apparently, Hamburg are offering £10 million for van der Vaart, while Daniel Levy is insisting upon a hair under £15 million.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

If this is true were losing a world class player and signed one. Need to keep as many top players, its gonna be a long season.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas wants to sign 25-year-old Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho from Porto and Russia striker Alan Dzagoev, 22, from CSKA Moscow, but could lose Jermain Defoe, 29, and Rafael van der Vaart, 29.

Daily Mirror

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Isn't Alan Dzagoev a MF....sounds plausible that we'd be left with only two strikers...

Live out in portugal and there are rumours over here about hulk and moutinho. it seems porto are willing to sell both players as long as they get about 60 - 70m for the pair of them. it seems that porto did accept a bid between 30 - 40m for hulk, but the player has refused to move to russia stating he would prefer to play in england or spain, as a result it looks like he will be staying until at least january. with moutinho some pundits have claimed that spurs and porto are still talking about a deal and that at the moment it is 50/50 whether it goes through or not. porto want 25m in full but they claim spurs have offered about 15m upfront plus a player, with gds and bentley being the names quoted.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

They can have gds and bentley gets them both out

Hamburg are planning to do everything possible to bring their former player Rafael van der Vaart back to the Imtech Arena from Tottenham before the transfer window closes.

But the Bundesliga side's chairman, Carl-Edgar Jarchow, admits "There is not a lot of time – it is really up to Tottenham Hotspur," he told Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
"If we have a chance to sign him, we will do everything we can to make that happen."
That opportunity could present itself if Tottenham complete the signing of some of their own targets during what looks set to be another frantic final 48 hours of a summer transfer window at White Hart Lane.

Porto have rejected a £39m offer from Russian club Zenit St Petersburg for striker Hulk and stressed that the Brazilian is not for sale.
Villas-Boas, who managed Hulk at Porto, retains an interest in his former charge but is aware that his new club Tottenham cannot afford his wages or transfer fee.
Porto president Pinto da Costa has revealed that the club have rejected a huge offer from Russian Champions Zenit.
"They offered €50 million and I refused," the Porto president is quoted as saying in Portuguese newspaper Record.
"For that I can guarantee that neither Zenit nor any club will be successful [in their attempts to sign Hulk]."

Believable2 Unbelievable5

What is the point of this post!

Zenit's £40 mill offer was accepted. It was Hulk that refused to enter negotiations as he prefers to move to the EPL or stay in Spain.

The man who broke the dembele sale, Duncan castles, is now posting that juve are signing Berba for 4.5million

Llorente anyone??? {Ed008's Note - I've said this on my twitter page Juventus are in discussions with Bendtner that would mean they've pulled out of Llorente surely.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Berba and bendtner ed?
Being reported, Berba was in Germany, was catching a flight to join fiorentina but then juventus came in and stole a march, apparently tho !!

Agree2 Disagree0

He turned down both teams and apparently could be on his way to the SOL.

29 Aug 2012 19:10:38
Ed's.

What are your thoughts on us getting a striker before Friday? And who potentially, realistically, may it be? {Ed008's Note - 7/10 I reckon Llorente is a real possibility if the club want to sign him as Juventus are in disucssions with Berbatov and Bendtner according to Italian reports. Spurs could go in for Willian but all depends now with Llorente. I'm not saying it will happen but things could get interesting.

Rafa :(

Ed? {Ed008's Note - If a good offer comes in he could leave.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

That would disappoint me terribly, the missus would be distraught too......
Super Y*d

Agree3 Disagree0

Love what Rafa has brought to Spurs in his time, but the fear that his fitness and lack of any real pace could reduce him to a substitute / bit part player is evident for all to see, if the replacements are right and the money is right then its a deal that suits all parties.
We get to remember him as a player who brought quality and good times to WHL, and he gets to rejoin a club he is very fond of, spend more time with his wife and family and not become a potentially unhappy and disruptive figure in the dressing room - of which he is most definitely capable. Like Defoe and Dawson, the sentimental attachment is and will be strong with fans, but if AVB gets it right, then they'll always be highly regarded as part of our evolution by those that know.

'61 Kid

Agree6 Disagree0

We all love vdv but I don't think he gonna start now and I think he may be one to throw his toys out of the pram.
I think if levy gets an offer of double what we payed (like modric) then he will take it and prob take affalley in the short term (loan)

Llorente available, to the highest bidder,, dont think it will be juventus, so he has a choice of anywhere, last year of contract remember, so how much 18-25 million i reckon, top striker, source from italy

Agree3 Disagree0

I told you all ages ago. Hulks next

Agree1 Disagree2

I agree, Llorente now is a real possibility as Juve seem to have gone for cheaper options. However not sure if the player wants to go to the EPL... I don't realistically think we will pay what Porto want for Hulk and I agree as there are many players cheaper and IMO better.(Huntelaar and Llorente) but just my opinion...

The CEO of Shaktar Donetsk says the club have rejected a fresh offer from Tottenham for forward Willian and claims the Londoners are also interested in Douglas Costa and Fernandinho.

The Lilywhites had a £9m bid for the player rejected last week and Sergei Palkin, Shakhtar CEO, has revealed a new bid of around £11m has also been turned down.

"Mr. Levy, the Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur FC, personally flew to Donetsk to negotiate over Willian. But his latest offer was 15 million euros, which we, of course, did not accept," Palkin told the club's official website.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Strange how he actually flew there and didn't just call.
Am I right in saying dzagoev (spelling) plays in that part of the world too??
I think, my opinion tho, we will sign lloris tomoro and a surprise no.9.
If that happens, then our transfer business this year has been amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2012 17:27:22
hi ed could you tell me if lloris is any nearer or if we have gone back to shakatar with an improved bid on willan

derbyshire dave {Ed008's Note - Talks are ongoing I've heard, Shakthar want over 20m for Willian I think the club will increase their bid for the player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im not sure we will get willian anymore, can't see levy paying 20+mil for him bit would love to be proven wrong

For those dreaming or thinking hulk may happen theres no chance. Zenit had a 40 mil (pounds) bid rejected by Porto. No way spurs will ever get close to that or the extra that's needed.

Yid D.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Actually that bid has been excepted if hulk wanted to go there but he doesn't. You are right though we could never get enough money to sign hulk

Agree2 Disagree1

30 million for berba, 20 million for keane, 18 for carrick 30 for modric! We can afford hulk!

Agree3 Disagree5

20 mil for keane??
someone explain

Agree2 Disagree2

Funny I would question if Hulk is that good really. He is a right sided attacker and scored 1 in every 2 in porto but falcao was 1 in 1.
He is good but the money be spoken for me nowhere near that level. Personally 20 mil max.
Though naturally I could be wrong.

Marc

Agree4 Disagree0

Berba and Carrick were over 4 years ago! 20m Keane? Dont think you grasp how it all works do you?

Agree4 Disagree0

When keane went to liverpool

Agree2 Disagree0

To Liverpool! Remember?

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't think your a real person ARE YOU!! Pillok

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont you mean Pillock? Wow, touchy.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hulk news,,, bid not rejected, just waiting on player, wether he wants to go to russia or england, still cant see us paying 38 mill for him though,, one can hope and dream,, maybe llorente more viable, as hes in last year of contract, lets wait and see ay, YidAde

Agree1 Disagree0

We do have the advantage in trying to sign players like moutinho, hulk, falcao, because of AVB but I can't help thinking this summer would have been a lot better with CL football, and as it stands despite AVB no one in this calibre will want to come go the lane

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2012 13:58:38
Ed is there any truth in the talk that Lennon, Dawson and VDV are up for sale? {Ed008's Note - Their not for sale but if a acceptable bid is made then the club will consider it providing they can get a replacement. These days money talks!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I'm getting to like what AVB is up to, if he can get the right players in and get them playing his way, we could have a very fast dynamic team, with players capable of moving about the field with great fluidity. No one trick ponies.

Hi Eds,

Do you know if there's any truth behind the Affelay rumours? If so, do you know of a price etc?

Thanks

Dom {Ed008's Note - Yes theirs been interest for a while he's not in Barca's plan he's can go whether it's a loan/transfer I'm not sure an enquiry has been made. A qoute from Graham Hunter a spanish journalist/revista la liga says he expected him to join Spurs and be surprised if he didn't.

Hello spurs fans.. UTD fan here.

just wanna ask you lot what you think will happen with dembele? do you think united will bid for him or are you confident he will you you lot?
thanks.

JK92 {Ed008's Note - No you have like 163 midfielders why do you need him?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Doesn't mean they are good enough ed..

JK92 {Ed008's Note - I know you have Nani,Young,Scholes,Carrick,Fletcher,Anderson,Cleverly,Kagawa,Giggs,Valencia,Powell. That's 11 Man Utd like to play 4-2-3-1 theirs 4 midfield spots Kagawa and Valencia are certs no way you can play Dembele in the 2 man he's attacking player and I don't think he'd want to be on the bench.

Agree1 Disagree0

Think we would guarantee him first team football and will sign for us. He's already had a medical and i expect him to be announced today. your thoughts ed? {Ed008's Note - You've basically said it all 1st team football, european football etc I'd expect today an announcement maybe even 2 signings.

Agree1 Disagree0

He wouldn't be on the bench ed, he start in a midfield two with cleverley.

JK92 {Ed008's Note - In your team he would start but this is SAF who clearly has his favourites Fletcher would be 1st choice if he was fit, Carrick aswell. You need someone defensive minded in the middle.

Agree1 Disagree1

Old red nose does have the habit of buying strikers and turning them into midfielders then if they dont shape up he flogs them

Agree1 Disagree0

Fletcher is nowhere near ready for the team, and carrick is second best to cleverley and anderson.

I'm expecting a move for Nani. Odds slashed.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Hope not! We just got shot of a cry baby, dont want another one!

Agree2 Disagree0

Not at really silly money. I'm a Lennon fan but Nani does chip in with more goals and obviously has great pace as well, could be a good fit. Fergie rates Valencia higher but will be wary of having enough depth to keep up with City. £12m max or don't bother i reckon. When an injury to Ade and/or January comes, wingers will be useless to us if we only have Defoe (and Kane) to play up front anyway.
Simmo

Agree2 Disagree2

Wouldn't mind nani at the lane if I'm honest! He scores more than Lennon, his end product is better too! Need to forget about dalmaio and sign huntelaar

Ssn spurs looking to loan affelay from barca {Ed008's Note - I think I mentioned this yday.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

There's a hefty loan fee being touted apparently because of lots of interest, thought this would put us off.

I hard deals done by spurs could be LLoris, Moutinho or Willian ... eds any info? {Ed008's Note - Lloris I got told a fee was agreed but I'm not convinced but I would expect more developments on him today. Porto want stupid money for Moutinho I'm not sure it can happen unless the player forces a transfer, I think Spurs will up their bid for Willian.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is £23m for Mouthinho that much more stupid than £18-19m for Wilian. Not sure what Porto would take but presumably would need to be that much. I think Moutinho is definitely £4-5m better.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2012 09:13:11
We have made a bid for porto's joao moutinho. A fee of £20m. Source - daily s**r. What do you think, ed? {Ed008's Note - I don't think it will be accepted at 20m Porto want more than that.

Manchester united are set to bid £15.5 m for moussa dembele. The midfielder impressed sir Alex ferguson during fulhams 3 - 2 loss to Manchester united and after tottentham hotspur last night had a bid accepted for dembele, ferguson has acted quickly. Despite the midfielder having a medical today with spurs it is thought of that if an offer came in from united he would choose united over spurs.
Looks like we have got to act quick !!
Coys

Believable2 Unbelievable4

I think any last minute signing at Man Utd would more likely be a defender given their injuries. They do still need a new midfielder or two at some point in the next year or so but, with Cleverley returning and Kajawa already bought (and spending £24m on Van Persie), i'm not sure.
Bl00dy hope not!
Simmo

I just got info from the same person that told me avb will be replacing harry while harry was still at the club, apprently spurs are to sign moutinho and hulk,

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Porto turned down £40million from zenit for hulk. We can't even match that.

Agree1 Disagree2

60-70m for the two, I doubt it. But if we did I'd be more happy than shocked.

Agree1 Disagree0

I would drop kick my nan in the face to make this true. And she's dead..... No way it is tho. Jimbo

I've got some very interesting information Spurs will make one last attempt to sign both Willian and Joao Moutinho which will cost 17 and 20 million , both these deals will go down on the deadline say along with dembele(which could happen before the 31st) these deals will mean that Aaron Lennon is no longer needed at the club and will make a 7 million pound move to Liverpool who look likely to miss out on Theo Walcott to Manchester city.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

If Walcott is worth £12m+ with a year left on his contract then Lennon is easily a £10m+ player, in fact should be the same. Why there are so many hard-ons about Walcott I don't know, he's average at best and in any team outside the top few he would struggle to ever make an impact and often hasn't for the Goons. Lennon's end product has often been inconsistent but so has Walcott's, hardly anything between them.

Agree6 Disagree1

Lennon only worht 7m? come on mate ge real he is worth at least double that with all the stupid prices that are being quoted, plus he aint going no where

Quick question to one of the ed or anyone else. Once 2 team agree a fee for a player does the medical or personal term come next
Mr g {Ed008's Note - Personal terms I would think then medical.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Ed008 is correct, personal terms are agreed before a team bothers to have their medical staff take a look at the player

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely dembele is ours then, if man utd steal this one from us I will cry!

Agree0 Disagree0

Either Or, it doesn't matter really as they can both affect the other decision. It just depends on circumstances at the time...

Yo. DSM here. Huge transfer news from THE number 1 source of ITK. ME.
Expect a BIG name in before the close of business on Friday. BELIEVE!
My mole tells me we are getting M'Villa over Arsenal and just to rub salt in we are also getting Isco and....... Leandro is coming home.
Great signings.
I'll be at the lodge on Friday to oversee these so it'll be great to see some of my followers.
Great times ahead fellow Spurslings!

VDV will go to Shalke for 8 million and we are still in for Butland. Watch this space.
Wiggidy wiggidy WAC.
You heard it from.......
Da Sacc Man.

P.S I've also heard something about a Brazilian youth. 'Jaggdinhio' or something similar. Any yous bois know anything?

as much as i wud love for u to b rite i cant c it happenin

Agree0 Disagree0

Da sacc man, I think you need the sack.
A new career beckons as oracles side kick.

Agree2 Disagree1

Right now i'd take everything falling through except one more striker signing out of; Llorente, Huntelaar or Damaio. Hulk isn't going to happen and, if we're really desperate with nothing on the cards at 10.30pm on Friday then at £10m i'd even take Carroll. We really need another striker and it worries me there's been so little talk about it out of Spurs Lodge.

Agree2 Disagree0

There has not been much out of Spurs Lodge as Harry has gone! He used to tell everyone who we were after.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sacc man and the oracle sounds like the worst superhero team ever

Agree1 Disagree1

Da Sacc Man rules. Love these posts!
I hope you are right, you should start a blog DSM!

Daily Telegraph reporting that Spurs have 'captured Dembele and Lloris' for £15m and £12m respectively...

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I read on a website.com that Steklenburg was offered to us by Roma and we turned him down. Surely this means Lloris is in the bag (who's awesome btw)

Agree2 Disagree1

I hope this is true, would be two great additions.

Agree1 Disagree2

I wish we were as close to signing a goal scorer. Getting a little nervous that our age old problem of possession and no goals is going to haunt us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dembele is a very creating man who charges through defences to score goals himself so providing we get him i think defoe/ade will be enough, wud love to see Damiao or Llorente come in but cant see it happening

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah the steklenburg thing must mean we've got someone else in.
