Defoe will definately not be sold in January, he has proved his worth and despite being slightly selfish he is a quality striker and in view of the shortage at WHL will stay despite interest from HR.
Dawson will also stay, atleast until the summer as we need cover for the ageing Gallas and our other injured CD. The one who may well leave to HR's QPR will be Parker, who is surplace to requirements at WHL and still has a value. i foresee one major signing despite all the hype - most probably a creative midfielder and a young striker.........
what your thoughts????? ZAC

Jermaine defoe loves it at spurs and i remember at one point under harry he was on bench a fair bit whilst under avb hes main man. looks like lloris is replacing grand servant friedel and dawson replacing gallas . I do think scott parker could go qpr though

Seen a few websites linking us with Van Wolfswinkel from Sporting, thoughts? {Ed002's Note - We know of confirmed interest from Lazio, Fiorentina, Spurs and both MIlanese clubs in Sporting Lisbon's Ricky van Woflswinkel. Sporting previously said they will talk to interested parties who offer 20M euros or more - about four times what they paid 18 months ago.}

I know he had a good goal record in Eredivisie but every time I ever saw him even when he scored he never looked very impressive, not a striker I would want us to sign, but if they are serious about 20 mill then that's never going to happen that's crazy money for a player of his limited talent

So Avb thinks Defoe is as good as Falcao.... DELUDED. Defoe may have scored a few this season but how many has he missed and whose to say another striker wouldnt have scored more. His ratio of shots to goals is pathetic. Defoe is just better than average and nowhere near as good as Falcao.

Whos to say defoe wouldn't score more at athletico, no one knows, so kinda pointless...don't shoot, don't score, ad has taken every chance he has had in his last 3 games, but thats cos against arsenal, maribor and lazio he only managed one shot on goal

I really can't understand some people that keeps having a go at Defoe year in year out by far one of the only players who has earned his money....

Not a spurs fan but a huge defoe fan. massively underated throughout his career. England would of benefitted from him at many a big tournament.

Lets get back to the point, who is better Falcao or Defoe?.......

Agree9 Disagree1

Falcao scores more than defoe yes, but he gets more goals carved out for him, we do not see what avb sees in training.
plus we do not just rely on bale for goals, the midfield has been contributing, along wit big jan.

Statistically speaking there is little between Defoe and Falcao this season, and therefore AVB is factually correct. Falcao has scored 11 and assisted 1 from 13 games, whilst Defoe has scored 9 and assisted 2 from 15 games. In addition Defoe has had many more shots on target, and has a considerable number of world class saves made against him.

Defoe has always been a good striker, whereas Falcao was hellish in 2010-11, and hasnt exaclty set the world on fire for Columbia. He is very much like Torres when things dont go his way his confidence evaporates. There is no question Falcao is improving and looking fantastic this year, but Athletico Madrid havent played Barcelona yet and the Spanish Premier League is the weakest for some year ignoring the might or Real Madrid and Barcelona. The fact the the 4th and 5th best teams on paper are probably Valencia and Seville who are both 100:1 shot to win the league kind of demonstrates the gulf.

So AVB is probably right to say Defoe is looking as good as Falcao at present.
