Spurs are looking strong this season as the team is begining to find its feet in the new AVB system. With BAE, Kaboul & Parker all set for return, I see a bright future this season. January could be the catalyst to brighter things if Mr Levy decides to spend the money that has been banked.

So I wonder who you would choose if you had the control for the window. So lets look at the positions and options.

GK - The future is Lloris but with Friedel and Cudicini in the wings we probably have the best goalkeeper squad in the premiership. Surely Gomes will be off in January for a few million.

LB - BAE is probably the most underrated LB in the premiership. I doubt many realise just how good he is, but I prefer Vertonghen as the rock in the middle and as such surely Michel Bastos would be the experience we need to cover BAE and even Bale in LM.

CB - Vertonghen must be the rock in the middle, and if we are to play the high line AVB system then Dawson has to go. I love Dawson but the £9m figures being touted are irressistable and we should bite their hands off and invest in Matt Hummels. He is 6ft 3in tall, strong, technically gifted and surprisingly extremely quick. £22 million with Dawson out for £9 million would be great business for probably the best CB in the business. With Kaboul nearing his return and Caulker improving every game, it is probably time to let Gallas go as he seems to have lsot the plot this season.

RB - Walker was looking like a world class star in the making, but some suspect defending and technically inept positioning he has raised some doubts this season. It is time Naughton is given his true position as RB and I am absolutely certain he will prove to be an even bigger star than Walker. Either way we have two superstars in the making and we should let them fight for their places.

CDM - With Sandro & Parker we have immense solutions when both fit, and Dembele has shown his class playing in the deep role. With Huddlestone imrpoving each game I think we have the cover we need at the back. The question is whether AVB believes Sandro paired with Moutinho is his solution, in which case Dembele would move to the central role behind the striker and Parker would be the cover for Sandro and Moutinho. If Moutinho does come to Spurs then expect Huddlestone to be sold off in January. I feel Huddlestone is such a gifted player but he has shown how exposed he is in the fast flowing high line pressing formation. Lets not forget we also have Livermore who is pressing for his place. With all the options I seriously doubt the Mountinho deal happening.

LM - Bale is arguably as good as it gets, so the question is who provides the cover in that position. Willian must be the answer to push Lennon for his place and cover for Bale at LM as well. Willain provides the attacking flair across the park that could serve us well should Mr Levy secure his services.

CAM - Sigurdson & Dempsey both play well in this role, but I dont like either of them out wide and therefore doubt we will be moving Dembele up. Remember Townsend is also pushing for a place and has shown some flashes of brilliance already at his tender age.

RM - Lennon has been given alot of support from AVB but has been frustrating at best over the last few years. On his day he is simply unplayable, but too often fails to get the ball and run at players. I think the capture of Willian will set the alarm bells of complacency ringing in Lennon's head, and we might see the brilliance we know he is capable of.

CF - The question is whether Adebayor can get his head around playing in the AVB rotation. I suggest AVB needs to have it out with Ade and establish if he is a team player of not. I personally feel that we are starting to smell the odour from Arsenal and Man City, and very soon may see him create more trouble than he is worth. January promised a new striker with Damiao linked for the 5th consecutive window, and the likes of Huntelaar and Llorente doing the rumour vine. One thing is for sure, Defoe is worth a small fortune at the moment, and there are many top quality younger strikers up fro grabs.

As much as I love Dawson, Huddlestone and Defoe perhaps there has never been a better time to sell them whilst they are still worth good money. Gallas, Gomes, Jenas and Bentley are all surplus to requirements and surely must be shipped out.

I sense great things to come on the journey to the top, and for the first time ever I actually believe we have the foundations to really start mounting a challenge for the title. The changes above are well within our financial and wage means, and with a new stadium on the horizon the future feels warmer.

The Oracle

Talking of stadiums Oracle?

A half decent post Oracle, for once I agree with most of the things you said. The Damiao deal is dead in the water though in my opinion, from what I've seen he is good but the asking price is too high for someone who has never played in the premiership. I think he's too much of a risk. I would definitely take Llorente or Huntelaar any day, especially if Llorente is on a free. The problem with Defoe, as much as I love him, is he doesn't link up too well with Siggs or Dempsey, which is why I want to see another Striker in January along with Willian for cover on the wings. Also I would like to see Adebayor given more starts, he was great for linking up play last season and I think the situation this season has been exaggerated by the press.

Well forget Hummels he is with the BL winners and has CL football and will go to a big club, besides he's a LCB so would compete with Vertonghen and anyway with Gallas off in summer we would still have Daws, Kaboul and Caulker so there is no need for a CB
Moutinho won't be coming he's said as much and Shaktar won't let Willian go while they are still in the CL
No we need a lot of strengthening, Benny and Walker are defensively awful, we should sell both to raise some cash and give Naughton a chance at RB and get a LB in. Bastos is more a winger and an AM but with Lyon needing to sell could be a cheap option short term. Personally if I was Levy I'd try and agree a loan with a buy option for Coentrao who is out of favour at Real
We need a quality cm, am, winger and striker but I can't see Levy spending huge money
Huntelaar coming to the end of his contract may be cheap enough to attract DL, likewise Moussa Sissoko also coming to the end of his contract for CM. Bastos could cover lb and lw at a push but isn't a strong lb.
AM wise Isco would be great but another player who looks like he'll have more CL games so unlikely to move.
I think we'll probably wait till summer for Willian who can play wing or am unless AVB has another target gettable in Jan
I just can't see DL wanting to have too big a net spend in January despite our obvious needs

£22million on a centre back...is this the same tottenham that I support?

Reading your post oracle, again you have just reposted things people have been saying on here for months.
Do you ever post your own thoughts instead of rumours and gossip you have read/heard.
Oh yeah, I must admit, the Olympic stadium was your own thought!!

I had to check the news before replying, for a moment I thought the freedom of speech laws had changed.

The Oracle

Another load of tosh exclusively by the Oracle

The freedom of speech laws haven't changed oracle.
Anyway not for people speaking their own views, as opposed too just plagiarising everyone else's views.

That coentrao comment oracle, now, that is only a day after a story appeared about madrid offering him to us + cash for bale.
The oracle strikes again.

You don't buy a player like Michael Bastos to sit on the bench. Think of the disturbance that would cause within the squad? Oracle come back down to earth, get off Football manager and actually come up with realistic opinions.
