Modrics gone, the funds generated will be used to help generate enough money so we can think about building a new stadium without risking to much debt, expect one signing under £15 million.

Spur93

Believable5 Unbelievable9

We wont get in any debt with new stadium joe lewis has been buying up the land around the stadium for years now and wont need big loans to build. all the money will go on transfers

Very good chance the Modric replacement is gonna boil down to M'vila vs Dembele. Reports also seem to suggest both will be available for £15 million. Out of interest who would Spurs fans prefer??

I'm gonna put it out there I'd prefer Dembele (more creative, Prem experience, good passer and, alongside Ben Arfa, the best dribbler in the league).

Press Agree for Dembele and Disagree for M'vila.

Cheers.

Believable17 Unbelievable6

It's a close one, both are brilliant but m'villa is a bit younger so it might tip the balance, I would be really happy with either though

Agree3 Disagree1

Isco and Moussa Sissoko. You could get both possibly for a little bit more than the one cost. Sissoko to me is a better option than Yann, stronger, faster, scores more goals and is a true box to box player. 2 for 1, get a GK, and another striker. DONE!!

Agree2 Disagree1

Dembele is versatile, very creative, and has experience playing in the prem. Dembele All day long

Agree2 Disagree1

I would say dembele. We already have one of the most promising defensive minded midfielders in sandro, and dembele is near enough life-for-like replacement for modric. Isco could be a last minute target.

Eds, with Spurs finally selling Modric to Real Madrid and signing this 'partnership' can you see Kaka coming in on loan for the season? He been linked many times in the past over a loan deal

Glenn {Ed008's Note - Marcotti desribed this perfectly on ESPN during Milan vs Sampdoria Kaka earns £10m+ after tax why would any team try to loan him? No interest I would say.

City,Chelsea and spurs to spend big this week trust me

Pinky

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Just spurs I reckon

Agree2 Disagree3

Ur get that William and m'vila and we will sign hulk

Agree0 Disagree7

Who else are Chelsea getting after spending about £70m+ already?

Agree3 Disagree0

Someone ripping off macca's rumours? ;)

Agree7 Disagree0

Yeah this was on macca's rumours site

Agree3 Disagree0

Hulk was at training ground today!! I might not be there be he certainly will, trust me tottenham fans .......

Gds17

Agree2 Disagree4

Gds17. Too many Stella's tonight was it.
If hulk joins. I will adopt Malaga, pinky and the oracle as drinking buddies.

Agree4 Disagree3

Chavskis still looking at signing cavani {Ed008's Note - And Falcao,Hulk and Schurrle.

Agree0 Disagree0

A wise man can sometimes be labelled the fool in the company of fools. So don't flatter yourself regarding me as a drinking partner. I only drink with real spurs supporters, and your level of intellectual stimulation would have me drowning in Stella Artois after 15 minutes.

On the Hulk front I wouldn't be so dismissive as we have had advanced talks regarding the player. I personally would be very doubtful of this reaching a positive conclusion, but this is certainly not the forlorn hope most pessimists refer to.

The Oracle

No llorente tonight for Bilbao.
Dare we dream lol

Believable7 Unbelievable1

That would be what we need to get back on track with the balance and quality of the squad! Kaka loan as a potential master-gamble and sign Dembele or Isci.....then we're in business. I think £35m could possibly do it so not far off what we made today on Modric. Dreeeeeeaming!
Simmo

Agree3 Disagree0

More likely to sign for city, Chelsea, juve.....

Llorente to spurs by end of week

Believable6 Unbelievable10

A think av just wet front of my pants!

Hope it's true

Agree3 Disagree1

Would absolutely love Llorente. The Juve link with him seems to have gone cold, and Bilbao (allegedly) are willing to accept £15m. Where exactly is the problem...? Get him in DL/AVB. Please! Quality striker and won't need the same acclimatisation as Damiao might.

Moussa Dembele has a £16m release clause in his contact.Spurs could take advantage of this.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Not could take advantage., SHOULD take advantage !

Please give up on Dembele , with the clubs interested in him, we aint got a chance.

Have to say, and by no means am I ITK but I wouldn't be surprised if have signed Damiao subject to Modric sale. For AVB to say no more strikers (knowing 100% of media and fans know we need more) to me suggests we already had agreement in place. With this the hot rumours last week would time well. Here's hoping (although I do feel he's a bit of a risk- IMO the Olympic defences, Brazilian league and international club friendlys are a fair step down from the EPL standard in terms of physicality and commitment).

Auspur

Believable5 Unbelievable4

If we sign damiao I will eat my dog.

Agree9 Disagree3

^ That made me cringe

Agree2 Disagree4

Come on guys, I think we are all underestimating Levy here. Come on, how many saw the partnership agreement with Real Madrid, none of you. Levy is a GENIUS. I get this chill down my spine but we are going to sign 3-4 more players maybe even 5 players. The future is going to be so bright. Levy knows what he is doing and so does AVB. This is a massive project we are undertaken which most of you are blinkered. We are going to have a crop of around 25 amazing young players in a year or two and with selling Modric and the deadwood we are going to sign some quality players.

The Rabbit

For the sake of your dog I hope damiao dosn't sign

Agree2 Disagree2

It'll be "woof" if leandro signs.

Agree2 Disagree2

Partnership agreement? how is that a good move, i just see it as more of Tottenham's best players moving to Madrid in the future.. Correct me if im wrong but where do Tottenham benefit from this?

Agree2 Disagree3

You guys have made the last year of reading this page totally worth it. I have not laughed so hard in a long time. thanks for the laughs, I think we all needed that.

Tottenham in french double swoop, lloris and m'villa in by thursday, major signing announcement friday afternoon!..but knowing levy it will be last minute, not one but 2 strikers will join on friday..one of those will be a huge coup on behalf of the chairman..watch this space!

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Whats your source? Ten pints of Stella??

Agree5 Disagree2

I had a dream {Ed008's Note - That Heskey signed?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed008 you freakin love Heskey! {Ed008's Note - His goalscoring record says it all don't it?

27 Aug 2012 19:30:15
Hey guys just my opinion here but I'm expecting at least 4 signings this week lloris Remy and M'villa will sign I think then it'll probably be the cheaper option out of isco dembele and willian just my opinion would love to get a world class no.9 but I'm doubtful that will happen also expect to see a real Madrid player come on loan either now or in jan. Lee

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Really hope levy moves for dembele but I think we might get prices out

Agree4 Disagree3

Kaka!!

Agree5 Disagree2

Would rather Dempsey than dembele

Agree2 Disagree6

Rumour is dempsey of to blunderland

Dempseys a 15 goal aseason midfielder, how many goals or assists has dembele! Can't sign him on the basis of him playing well against united! Hulk will sign

I like reading it as "a website"

If you put a name or address for another website on here it generally gets taken out by the Eds. Dont worry, regulars on here know all about it. {Ed008's Note - That's true due to copyright reasons it sucks!

Have a strange feeling that we will sign the french 3,Lloris,M"villa, and remy i reckon we will fail in a bid for willian as levy wont pay what there wanting,so will will switch to remy or maybe dembele

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Are there 2 remy's then?

Agree3 Disagree3

For god sake spurs PLAY COULIBALY the boy is seriously mustard! Watched him in the region of a dozen times in nextgen series and can cut it in premier league!! Any tru yidos agree

110% totally agree!

I expect willian, m'villa and lloris to be here in the next few days (im not saying definitely) but I'm a bit concerned on the striker front maybe remy? Don't think it will be ge big name up front but with ade up there I don't know that we need one (apart from for the cup of nations but if we had Remy he could play there)

Just watched Ssn about an hour ago and they mentioned a certain ( kaka) and said to watch this space... Thinking about it... It is a typical dl signing at 11.45pm on Friday. DL look at all the shirts sales no9..... I've just got a feeling. The question is if it happens we're would he play and could he do it in the prem
Mr g

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Transfer window closes at 11 so we might miss out!

Agree4 Disagree1

Wont happen for many reasons, the main one being his astronomical wages
bucks spur

Agree2 Disagree1

Obviously real would pay the most of the wages
Mr g

Agree1 Disagree0

Unless he takes a pay cut, which he might if he wants too actually play football

Agree1 Disagree0

No - happy to cash the check.

Agree1 Disagree0

Maybe this is what they mean by special partnership...kaka will be on their wage budget anyway, and won't play, especially with now another player ahead of him (modric) so could be good business for both clubs and kaka himself,

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2012 17:42:50
Probably can't afford him but how much would Lucas Moura cost, anyone know? Ed's?

Hay Ho {Ed008's Note - €100m

What is entailed in the RM partnership?
#19

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I assume it has been set up as they will want first refusal on Bale if he ever wants to leave, but in our benifit to have first option on any young exciting talent they are willing to loan out from RM Castilla (reserve team).

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2012 16:50:52
We have re-opened talks with Lyon over Lloris, and have bid 12.7m for m'villa but they wan't the full 15m up front, due to have face to face talks.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Mike ashley is making a 13m cash up front for m'vila cabaye going to arsenal for 20m.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Aug 2012 16:18:25
Well as its being confirmed the Modric deal has gone through i am assuming we have a done deal for his replacement and jst waiting for it to be announced.

Im hopefull for Isco, looks like a very good player!

Rich - EssexYid

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Glad rat boy is gone. 16 goals in 160 games for an attacking midfielder ain't very good. We have hatfull of chances against west brom but we can't score. Another striker needed. Get huntalaar

Agree7 Disagree3

With tottenham nothing is ever done. we'll all be sitting in front of the TV at midnight, crying with rage and frustration

Agree4 Disagree1

27 Aug 2012 16:14:49
Spurs will bid again for M'Villa and Willian this week with AVB and Levy determined to get the players to fit defensive and attacking roles.

Modric's fee confirmed at £30 million: £3 million up front and the rest payable over his 5- year contract. No surprise - this is typical of European style transfer fees

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I think there are also some add ons for the modric deal

Agree1 Disagree1

3 mill upfront ?? You crazy ????

27 Aug 2012 15:30:02
Charolie adam to replace modric 6 mil deal

Believable5 Unbelievable13

Silly dipper ! Go back to your own deluded page .

Much love

Agree5 Disagree3

Right because he has the pace and mobility to play in avb's new system

Agree5 Disagree2

Is that his French relative :0) not a chance

Agree4 Disagree2

He would still end up injuring Bale !
Seriously tho, he is no use to man nor beast. Worse than Useless IMO

Agree5 Disagree3

27 Aug 2012 13:58:38
The general consensus seems to be that we need a Modric replacement, another attacking midfielder/winger and a front man this week.

Dembele
Willian or Isco
Remy

Value and versatility there, and 3 realistic targets. There is gonna be one hell of a scramble for 4th this season between us, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton, but if we play this week right, it's there for the taking. COYS.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

The players i feel we would need to sign of those that have been talked about are Willain,Isco,Dembelle, Llorente and maybe Buttland. If Hudd and Dawson leave with Dos Santos,Bentley and Jenas the squad will be better but a lot thinner so why i add Isco &Dembelle.Mountinho would be great but never going to happen.

Agree2 Disagree3

I believe we need just 2 players: Lllorente, did not need Siggs or Ade and Munain to replace Modric. Period. I hope we stop wasting funds on players who do not add any real value, but just to bring in new faces, bullocks.

Agree3 Disagree4

At this rate add Swansea to the mix, they have played awesome lately. The same style as ourselves...

Agree2 Disagree2

Yeah they have played well but won't be able to keep it up for long I don't think. Around about Christmas time you will see who will do well this season. My team would be Lloris,Walker,Vertonghen,Kaboul,Assou-Ekotto,Sandro,Sigurdsson,Bale,Moutinho,Willian(can play wing) and Ade (4-2-3-1). Title challenging team who are fast, attacking, tactical and awesome. Don't say we wouldnt get Moutinho or whatever coz we are not a middle table team....we are top quality. We didn't get into the champions league in a lucky dip.

Agree4 Disagree0

27 Aug 2012 13:31:27
According to the BBC Wt have made a bid of 12.7 million for M'vila rising to 15 with add ons although his club are holding out for 15 million up front, also according to the report they have requested face-face talks to try and reach an agreement as soon as possible. Lee

Believable5 Unbelievable6

27 Aug 2012 13:06:05
Bid submitted for m'villa thought to 12.5mil plus add ons but they want 15mil upfront but have asked to enter into face to face talks with spurs, I've got a feeling this I'd going to be an exciting (maybe not successful) week!

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Don't know much about m'vila apart from thats hes techniqually a defensive mid, Do people who have seen him play think he would be able to adapt to more of a creative modrich type role?

Agree1 Disagree3

Don't think M'Villa will adapt, I think AVB will continue using the 4-2-3-1 if we get him

Friedel
Walker--Kab--Vert--BAE
Sandro-M'Villa
Lennon--VDV/Sigg/Willian--Bale
Ade

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe M'vila will be a long term replacement for Parker? Still need a creative midfielder in that case. Think we'll reach an agreement over Willian.

Agree0 Disagree0

M'vila has much more to his game than just a DM, maybe not a real playmaker but a decent passer and one who'll contribute to attacks. A pairing of him and Sandro would be pretty awesome

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2012 11:23:59
I can't believe that levy bid 11.8mil for willian when they value him at 20mil, what's the point! This is beginning to get embarrassing. I still think levy will secure some signings but it seems like he has been wasting a lot of time in this transfer window with pathetically low bids

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Its like pricing a job m8 u go in high looking 4 a good price i expect something like 15m to get deal done

Agree4 Disagree3

It's no different to what rm did with modric, they starting bidding in the early 20s, and eventually got him for a bit (only a bit) cheaper than the original asking price. Just cos dan L starts at 11.8 doesn't mean that when he's rejected he goes 'alright then' and calls off the pursuit. Yes his way of doing things is frustrating, and is not ideal in the length of time deals take to complete, but when you are a club trying to compete with the big boys but have no free-spending oil sheikh owner, every penny counts

Agree7 Disagree0

Lk shak no that spurs are short up front levy always play hardball when selling ,buying doesnt always work the same way levy up against the clock thats runs down friday shak will get 17mill for willan

Modric fee agreed 33m, shakhtar reject 11.8m spurs bid for willian, tottenham looking into Dembele and Isco after pirto not budging on 30m evaluation for moutinho. Niang and Butland also looking possible, Llorente is a no-goer.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

From the bench?

Agree1 Disagree0

Lika heading to Real, is great news on two fronts,1. no oil sheikh rich bitch clubs in Prem can nick him of us 2. We get loads of money -to spend - WISELY!
Downside - loss of a genuinely gifted player. Also thanks to Nico,Vedran,Roman and all others that have served us, best of luck lads.

He proved his worth last year when he already wanted too leave but still put 100% in every match.

Personally I thought the most interesting thing about the Modric transfer news was this new Partnership with RM... Can see some RM player coming the other way in a GDS type transfer...

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I think it will be more of us feeding them. They will get first dibs on bale etc. we will prob get offered their older players

Agree7 Disagree1

Can also see bale going to them next year

Agree5 Disagree2

The drama with this PARTNERSHIP is that RM will get our best players for cheaper monies. wont be surprised if G.Bale will be at RM within the next 2/3 years...

Agree4 Disagree2

And Walker

Agree3 Disagree2

Walker at Madrid, LOL

Agree1 Disagree2

Said months ago Bale while on the pop in his home town has said he dreams of playing for Real one day so to insure were in pole position on the favours front when or if this happens and to stop a situation like Sahin not wanting to come to us on loan Levy has added this to the Modric deal, could be a top move

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I agree, he hasnt gone yet, all you lot wishing him the best at rm! Hope hedoes go though, my brother works at rm training ground and there's talk of khaderia coming the other way a part of the deal

does any1 have an idea what the new partnership with madrid is all about?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Basically they'll eventually get bale.

Agree7 Disagree2

Even if it just means that they have first dibs on all our players, then it's advantageous because it means that if any prem rivals want them then we can charge them extra. But even then it's not going to be that one-sided in favour of madrid.

Agree0 Disagree1

And probably Walker ....and maybe Verts ....

Agree2 Disagree3

Verts came from real madrid ,Why would they want him back??

Agree2 Disagree9

Verts came from Ajax. VDV came from RM.

27 Aug 2012 09:14:35
So Willian offer turned down. Last year shaktar turn down £29 million for him so mr levy thinks £11.8 million will do it lol. So frustrating because he wants the spurs switch. Head out of arse and sign him up!! We need some quality or we are skrewd this season

Believable7 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2012 08:30:28
Ssn just reported shakter reject 11.8 mil think we must get him looks a top player

Spurs will sign kaka on loan before deadline day.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Followed by messi who will be free as barca will continue to pay his wages.

Keep dreaming

Agree7 Disagree2

Shakhtar are a rich club. Jarvis and Fletcher go for 11-12M each. We are never going to get Willian for 11.8M. We need to start paying the money if we really want these players!

Agree4 Disagree1

It is Levy who should be judged and not AVB.If you sell players and don't replace them with quality or at all what good are partnerships with other clubs.Levy it is you the fans are watching and not AVB and it will be you they will be calling for if this season does not go well.
SpursmadDave.

Agree4 Disagree1

Not impossible, probably on loan though despite Real initially wanting him to be sold outright - maybe part of the partnership anounced with the Modric deal might see him and/or another fringe player deal ? It'll be cheaper than Willian or a new striker, just up Levy's street (even when banking £33m on top of net funds from past two years)

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Aug 2012 00:36:11
DONE DEAL. Luka Modric has signed for Real Madrid late on Sunday night for a reported £26.9m. Real to unveil him on Monday.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Will be announced officially in the morning.
