Mirror is reporting that spurs have offered avb a 3 year contract - before everyone shoots the messenger this is merely speculation

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Please tell me this is a nightmare?

Agree5 Disagree6

Why a nightmare ? He is a young attacking coach with great potential ....... Why be so negative ? I say give him a chance and if it's true let's get fully behind him & the club

Agree8 Disagree4

Thats what i said last year ,look what happened and dont blame the old guard, his not up to it !!!

Agree1 Disagree3

I certainly would blame the old guard he is not the first manager they have shafted for trying to get them to change from being effective but downright dull to effective and entertaining ,they couldnt do it and they knew it was either him or them because if he was given time he would have brought in personnel who could do it his way ,the players at spurs are more suited to his ideas and if given time he can succeed and give chelsea one in the eye

Agree4 Disagree0

Effective and entertaining, not winning trophys (lots by the way)you should be on the gooners page mate..!!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Whoever comes in to manage our club i say get behind him, u all wanted ggraham out, yet he brought us a trophy, if at is abv then if he spends more time on the training ground and less time rabbiting to the press, and gets the team playing on agfter xmas. i say give the bloke a chance

Agree6 Disagree0

Wouldnt call champions of europe and fa cup winner dull and boring get real they were much better without that plank in charge

Agree0 Disagree1

What exactly has AVB done to be classed as good enough for us? Oh yes, he had ONEgood season at Porto in 2011 - who play in a in a much inferior league. One good season just a handful of years prior to moving to the Lane hasn't proved to successful in the past.

We need to be careful what we wish for after all, we've been here before.

Enter Juande Ramos. Won the Ufea Cup with Sevilla and got them into top 3 in La Liga - did bugger all with us. And I think we can all agree that Spain is a much better league than Portugal.

If we sign AVB, my season ticket will be up for sale to the highest bidder.

Sao paulo have come out and said that avb has just rejected the chance to take their managers job, as he wouldn't want the job until january to allow him to make preparations. Wonder what relevance, if any, that has for our situation.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Please tell me this isnt a nightmare.

my mate works at the new training ground and vertonghen was there on sunday having a look around

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Tottenham's hopes of signing Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen are fading due to a clause in his Ajax contract. Vertonghen is entitled to 15% of the agreed transfer deal under the terms of his deal with the Dutch champions. Ajax have indicated their reluctance to honour the clause - so he is expecting to stay in Amsterdam. He tells Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad: "This is a shame."

Sorry me old Spudders but if it was gonna happen it would've by now.

15% of £12 or £13 million is a lot of money to most of us but if he really wanted to go to the Lane he would swallow that, no ?

ClockEndClockEndGiveUsaWave

Agree1 Disagree5

Above gooner ..... Get off our page .... If you had a clause in your contract about a bonus would you swallow it to move to a different department even if you desperately wanted to go ? No ? Yes ?

Vertonghen's loyalty payments with Ajax are old news, the deal has been agreed (the press don't have much to report so are clutching at straws). Expect him to be announced as a Spurs player very shortly (my prediction is beginning of July).

Believable7 Unbelievable3

I agree that jan and gilfi will sign for us which i recon are two very good signings but i feel we really need to appoint a manager quikly..so he can sort out r players like bale, vdv, defoe and fringe players...sell modric if hes acting up again and we need a new manager to pick his own transfer targets..btw levys doing better in the transfer market with out harry..sorry 2 say it but its true

Agree8 Disagree1

If he wants to join us that much he'll have to wave the fee (if of course this report is correct!)

Vertonghen deal may be off

Believable3 Unbelievable6

This story is probably false but its annoying me that its taking so long.

Siggurdson will cost 10m, 8.5m with add ons.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I hope this is just a rumour and we are not really interested. Siguurdson is highly over rated. Let him go to Liverpool.

Agree3 Disagree3

To a better club you mean

Agree1 Disagree2

As you keep proving season after season.
perhaps you'll manage to score at the lane this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought sigurdsson would only cost 8million for the whole transfer no add ons?

Vertonghen and Sigurdsson will sign in 48 Hours.

Saint.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

I reckon you are right Saint. Trawling the Web these 2 look pretty dead certs as it seems is Sessegnon from Sunderland which makes me wonder with Mod going to Real Madrid if they are looking to part with VDV. Much publicity regarding his missus not being settled here so maybe the rumours could be true as why else would we be signing 2 midfield players. These three transfers alone would be fantastic additions to the squad. Any one got any sound news on what is going to occur with Addy ? Really hope that we do NOT sell Caulker or Naughton, we should bring them both into the squad this season. If we get Dawson and the Hudd back fit as well.....Anyone else out there agree that Dos Santos could still realise his potential ? I reckon he could be solid gold under a new manager . Thoughts anyone. I reckon this is going to be a "Top Season" for us

Agree4 Disagree1

I think the Sigurddson part may be true but not Vertonghen. I have a gut feeling he won't sign for us, but let's just hope for the best.

I saw your other post, what manager will we be likely to get?

John COYS!

Agree1 Disagree3

Completely agree with the second poster, Gylfi, sess and jan would be great additions. Dos santos, I believe is a great player with buckets of potential, shame he didn't play under H.R.
Also same as 3rd poster I think Jan would of come by now if he was really going to join

Agree3 Disagree2

Naughton will probably stay because he has a part to play in the europa league next season. They want to give our 1st choice kyle walker more time off. Caulker will once again be loaned out for a full season.

John COYS - Vertonghen is practically a done deal mate. A fee has been agreed as has his wages. The only hold up is Ajax do not want to pay Jan an entitled leaving fee that had been agreed in his ajax contract. Ajax will have no choice but to pay him because he could leave for nothing in a years times.

These 2 deals look done! 26m+ Sahin for Modric next?

Saint.

Agree3 Disagree0

John COYS - He threw 4 names at me mate! AVB, Blanc, Dechamps and believe it or not, Sven Goran Eriksson.

Agree0 Disagree1

Would love to see Big Jan and Sigurdson at the Lane, but am very worried it may happen with Big Jan. Would not want Sessegnon, blows very hot and cold to much of a liability. Agree it would be a massive mistake to sell either Caulker or Naughton, but depends who new manager is. Heres to hoping a new manager along with Big Jan, Siggi and 2 strikers on 1st July I Can wish can't I!!

THFC4EVER

Agree0 Disagree0

I really like the way we are going about it actually. We really need Vertohgan in as he is class. Also if we get rid of Modders and get Sahin as part of the deal we would look really strong. But what's your thoughts on strikers? VDV needs to stay in my opinion. I have heard from a good source that AVB will be the man in charge. I'm sitting on the fence with this one. What do you guys think?
Rosco

Agree1 Disagree0

Vertonghen looks really solid true Spurs legend in the making, would prefer Modders to stay but never gonna happen, Adam Johnson,Dempsey and Damiao type striker needed(cos don't think he'll ever come) and Gio looks great for Mexico about time he was given chance at club level -COYS

Believable3 Unbelievable15

Load of tosh. FACT!

Agree14 Disagree3

Haha he was holding a Chinese shirt in china 5 days ago.
You probably saw pascal chimbonda

Agree12 Disagree2

Strange detour when en-route to Barcelona!?
All sorts of daft Drogba rumours going around now. They seem to be turning Chinese football into a sideline of the State Circus!

Agree3 Disagree1

He has already signed for that Chinese club hasn't he?

Agree5 Disagree2

He has a Clause on his contract that lets him go for free, but i heard that he was meeting Barcelona

Spurs Lad

Agree2 Disagree1

Rubbish - he's signed a 2 year deal at Chinese club.

Agree3 Disagree1

That's the thing with chinese... half hour later your hungry for something else!!

Agree9 Disagree1

You need to keep an eye on the news fella before trying to BS us.
He joined the Chinese league 5 days ago.
Now we are dealing with FACTS

Agree1 Disagree2

He has a clause in his contract with his Chinese team that if barca come calling he can leave for free .. Apparently

Agree0 Disagree0

Look fella. If you can't post either something sensible or amusing then don't bother. Why would Drogba leave chelski, pass up sqillions in China to play for us ? ............ Oh yeah his great grandad was a Spurs fan ? Give it a rest
