IMO if we can get £35 mil for Modric asap, we should definitely have a serious look at Joe Allen. If we got him, a player with very similar attributes to Modric and with potential to develop further, for £15 million we would leave ourselves money to fill the other gaps in our squad. Bring in Sturridge or Remy, as both can play out wide or up top and both would come at a decent price (Sturridge is seemingly surplus to requirements at Chelsea and Remy has only a year left on his contract). Adebayor deal can hopefully then be completed for him to be our lead striker (£5 million is a massive bargain for him). And finally I'd like Sessegnon; versatile, quick, vision, skilful and goals, with a price tag that can surely be not much more than £10 mil. These signings would more or less be sorted by the Modric money, plus recouping wages from selling fringe players, and would leave us with 2 quality, experienced players in each position.

Believable7 Unbelievable12

£15mill for Joe Allen!? Swansea were a decent team for one season, it'll be interesting to see how they get on now and how all these individuals will/would fare moving elsewhere but not thanks. Typical of the market these days, hence why Andy Carroll ended up being £35mill and now they can't get £15mill for him not long after, unless somebody is deperate for a 'name' like the Scammers. Not like he's been injured or struggling to step up in a good team.

Agree6 Disagree6

I dont think the original post is ambitious enough

Agree4 Disagree0

Joe allen the potential to develop further than modric? I dont like what modric has done and maybe last season he wasnt brilliant and i think he should be sold because clearly he doesnt want to play for us but when he was happy it spurs he was absolutely class! he didnt get player of the year a couple of seasons ago for nothing and if he moves to real he will be right up there with the best CMs in the world and a diffrent class to Joe Allen who had one good year in the premier league

Agree3 Disagree1

I would like to see allen at spurs but i agrree 15mill is too much for someone who has never proved himself for a good club. However if it was 8 or even 10mill then i would take him. After all he is a very promising and creative young player.

Agree3 Disagree1

Allen is class. Good business at 10-15. Way better than Adam and way cheaper than Carroll.

Agree1 Disagree6

Better than Adam, obviously, so am I. Cheaper than Andy Carroll, also obviously, in the Premiership most have been! Allen just isn't worth £15m, I think £8m is still quite a lot but fairer as a gamble on his potential.

Agree3 Disagree3

Allen would be a half decent investment for our style of play at 9-13mil i reckon. but we also have a very decent prospect in tom carroll, we shouldn't forget that to be fair. allen could compliment that situation quite well with a 22(?) year old and an 18 year old as we could end up with 2 fantastic players in similar positions plus sigurdsson too, who i think will be excellent being tutored by vdv. i think perhaps we could still need a experienced cm that we could spend 20m of the modric money on, doubt we'll get moutinho for that price though. and if theres any left in avb's transfer kitty maybe a versatile wideman so willian wouldn't be a bad shout. we will then be able to rest bale and lennon at regular intervals throughout the season and compete right up to the last day of the season rather than in february/march. if i was in dreamworld i'd kill to see hulk in a spurs shirt, all of my fingers and toes are crossed that he is that good of a mate with avb that he'd want to come.

Delboy

Agree2 Disagree1

I wouldn't pay no more then 8 for Allen who's only had a half decent season. I think we can be a lot more ambitious......don't you think. Would rather splash the cash on moutinho who can offer many attributes to the team plus that winning mentality.

We can aim much HIGHER then joe Allen.

Sturridge?!?!?!........lol would rather us sign robbie keane again. Worst attitude ever according to some season ticket Chel-scum fans that I know.

Lightning.

Agree6 Disagree2

We may be aiming higher than Joe Allen, but we seem to be oming up short at the moment. Still time though I admit.

Agree3 Disagree1

I wanna get allen just to annoy the scousers

Agree1 Disagree5

^^Agreed, the siggurdson buy was hilarious. From 'With siggurson we can challenge for the league' to 'I never wanted that money grabbing mercenary anyway!'

Agree3 Disagree1

Listen up yod army modders out nxt week and sahin in on season loan it will happen as mourinho has told sahin he needs games

Agree2 Disagree2

I'm sorry but Allen stepped up to the prem last season and showed he can do it ... He's young and still learning I think he will become a great player and Liverpool or us would have a great future BPL superstar midfielder his passing style / accuracy / creativity isn't just luck and a one off ... He was consistent... Ergo I think he will remain so ... However it's just IMO

Lloris deal to be completed by the weekend apparently. Well that is the opinion of the ground staff working at the lane laying the new pitch. Now this is a tenuous link. My mates brother delivered a load of stuff for the new pitch today and this is what they are stating. Also stated that Levy is NOT handling the transfers at the moment as his wife is poorly in the states and it is being handled by his right hand man and that three MAJOR signings and two departures will happen within the next 10 days. Personally i think is a load of old tosh but thought i would share it with you. COYS!!!

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Who would Leveys right hand man be? Sounds like BS to me too but I hope it's true!

Steed

Agree2 Disagree2

The new pitch has already been laid. It was down a few weeks ago... I went up to the open day when they launched the kit and had a mini tour of the lane and the tour guide told us that the pitch had been down for a couple of weeks then... Next...
Dom

Agree4 Disagree2

Confirmed.. pitch was laid a few weeks ago as they ripped it up the day after our last game, takes like a week just for the machine work weaving the new grass. Was at an interview there and the staff were not able to give me any inside info regarding transfers... just that Levy wasn't in the country. Sorry

Agree1 Disagree0

Levys right hand man for dealings done when he is not available is actually a female!! Doh!

Agree3 Disagree0

Lloris isnt coming to the lane. they want too much money , more chance of cesar or butland after olympics if he continues to impress

Agree3 Disagree2

"Levys right hand man for dealings done when he is not available is actually a female! Doh!"

Listen, I work in sales. Send in a little gorgeous bird at the height of negotitations and watch the whole dynamic change. Never a bad thing....

Agree0 Disagree0

Levy's right hand man for this is Darren Eales

Agree0 Disagree1

Nice Google, Darren Eales WAS the clubs DoF from 2010 to the middle of last year but personal circumstances made him stand down from that role. We don't have a DoF any more,

It is important to understand how the THFC acquisitions process works. Firstly there are 35 scouts and another 50+ who freelance for the club. This fact alone means that there are potentially hundreds of players being watched at any time. The serious contenders are then assessed by our Chief Scout before being short listed for board approval. The board will then approve multiple targets with ambitious transfer funds. These bids are used to 'test the water' to establish if there is room for further discussion. What the press do is report every initial interest which gives us a great view of the overall targets. In reality our policy can be summarised as buy low sell high. This policy doesn't mean cheap but just attractive for Spurs like the Van Der Vaart or even the original Modric deal.

The serious targets have included a whole host of players from Llorente and Remy to Oscar & Damiao. This doesn't mean we were ever signing them all, unless of course they were secured for ridiculously low offers. So let's talk about what Levys plans are for this window, most is obvious so no badge for guessing the positions.

1. A goal keeper is required for life post Freidel. Levy had approved Lloris, Vorm, Butland, Viviano as targets. AVB is more open minded on Gomes, but any sensible offer will see him leave. I wouldnt bet on any guaranteed acquisitions in this department but Lloris & Butland would make sense. Lloris looks very probable and Butland could be secured with a clause to remain for next season at Birmingham on loan.

2. Defence after the successful acquisition of Vertonghen AVB and Levy feel we now have suitable cover post King. Kaboul has improved no end and Dawson is now looking sharp again following his lengthy injury. The inclusion of Caulker provides ample coverage with the impressive Naughton maturing nicely to provide cover for Walker. We also have the likes of Bassong & Gallas as cover, and Vertonghen can move to LB should BAE get injured. There are still options out to secure further players in defence, but we are looking at future potential to swell these ranks.

3. The midfield entirely rests on the Modric situation. It is obvious that £40m is the figure to secure his transfer. With Joselu being included in a potential part exchange, this whole Real Madrid option is still tricky. Perhaps PSG will just splash the cash and secure personal terms. It seems highly likely Modders will go but who is being lined up as a replacement? Oscar or Moutinho are both openly targets. Both remain possible but Moutinho looks more likely and the preferred choice for AVB. We already have Sigurdsson who can create along with the brilliant Huddlestone who returns to the squad. It seems that Jenas and Bentley will leave if we can find homes, and therefore AVB is keen to get a wide man along with Moutinho.

4. The striker options are where we all wait wondering on the big news to be announced. With Defoe out only senior option, things may at first glance appear bleak. This pessimism iwill be quickly quashed when sign Adebayor and Damiao. In addition should Real Madrid agree to include Joselu the fanfare will suddenly echo around WHL.

5. Lastly the stadium which I have covered many times. 55,000 state of the art in Tottenham or the Olympic stadium? Reports who indicate that this is all agreed in Tottenham, but this couldn't be further from the truth. The Olympics will come and go, and then their board will open the proves again regarding future tenants. Contrary to popular belief this remain very much our preferred destination, and would be far more suitable from every aspect including financial, capacity, transportation, sustainability, prestige apart from historical location. What so many people seem to dismiss is the fact that most home owners and season ticket holders no longer live in Tottenham or indeed London. Infact there is a significant support base from Hertfordshire, Essex and Bedfordshire. So whilst controversial I would like you to consider the Olympic Stadium as our new home.

The Oracle {Ed001's Note - Oscar remains an option? The same Oscar who has signed for Chelsea Oscar? Or is there an other one.}

Foolish Fool!

Yet again The Oracle telling us what we allready know or what we have all read in the papers..why always the long bloody essays too..always longwinded and boring..and i thought u said we would have adey, damiao and mouthino by now??...

Wow you talk some rubbish

Agree5 Disagree2

After such a long comment from Oracle I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt! Surely no one would sit and type that amount of nonsence for no reason. So lets hope Oracle gets his predictions right this time :)
Stuart

Agree4 Disagree5

Oracle....please,please,please just stop now.enough is enough.
Oscar, omg I'm not even gonna comment.
Olympic stadium. Ehy do you still do it.
The Olympic delivery authority have already stated that 4 bids have come in
West ham
Orient
Essex CCC
And an entertainment co
WE HAVE NOT BID and if you would have been to the tottenham high road lately, you would see the reason why.
And why do you peruse ith DAMAIO, 4 windows you have said this and nothing.
And you wonder why you get slated
Dear oh dear
And

Agree5 Disagree1

What are you on about?

First Oscar is not a realistic target as he's signed for Chelsea.

Second, why would we start works on the new stadium at WHL only to move?

Agree6 Disagree1

Sorry just woke up after reading paragraph sentence one, and oscar, do you not read the news, oh you must do because it looks like you have copied and pasted from the daily fail, apart from the oscar bit, is you head seriously up your ar$$ son.....come on

Agree4 Disagree1

Why keep doing it to yourself?

Agree2 Disagree1

Is it me or does oracle post in a really patronising way?
It reads like a failed crap journalist.
'oracle' if you continue to post your regurgitated garbage on here, please change your writing style

Agree3 Disagree1

The oracle must be Levys right hand man.!!

Agree4 Disagree0

To the poster above. It's not a question of what the Oracle is on about, but what the hell he is actually on. Methinks he spends the day smoking his head off in his crummy bedsit, typing these silly fantasies that he believes are reality. Oracle, you are hilarious. Please don't start thinking believing you can fly, it will only end in splat.

Agree1 Disagree2

I've had a quick look online and whilst I originally disagreed with Oracle and still do regarding the Olympic Staduim, the bidding process is still open as it was extended. I do agree with it being cheaper but I do believe that Levy was using it for leverage to get funding off the Government and to reduce the costs for the Northumberland Project. So whilst it is possible, unless he has strong ITK I doubt this will happen.

Now regarding Oscar, I guess the article was written more than a couple of days ago. From reading the news, Oscar was going to wait to sign until after the Olympics to sign for Chelsea after the Medical had been done. This is my guess, we put another bid in for him and Chelsea said to Oscar, sign now or we will pull out, so he signed for Chelsea.

Now for Damiao, I believe that he is on our raidar funnily enough and has been for quite a while. Levy is trying to get a good price or is waiting for him to be ready to go straight in the first team due to the money he would have to pay. My guess is given that Damiao is a hot property but still a risk no doubt, is he waiting for others to make a move elsewhere in the market before then going in and going for Damiao. I think it is a big risk doing this but we should get him for a good price. I really can see him coming to us.

In Levy we trust

The Rabbit

Agree2 Disagree2

I dunno about Oracle being Daniels right hand man per se, but 'right hand' gesture does seem appropriate....

Agree5 Disagree1

Of all your replies only ED and Rabbit qualify. Rabbit you are spot on with your comments regarding each point, and soon when Damiao signs with Moutinho the rest might begin to believe.

When the Olympics are over let's see if the Olympic Stadium debate opens again.

I will be waiting for your apologies in due course. In the meantime I will have a little cry after all your tidal wave of abuse.

Gaston Ramirez agent in talks with the club

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Also in talks with Liverpool.

Agree2 Disagree4

On SSN his agent says "I'm in London to talk with a Premier League club."

Getting optimistic that we are getting him. Hope so he looks a smashing wee player from what I've seen.

Steed

Agree1 Disagree2

Ramirez would be a great signing for us..and as his agents in lonon 2 talk 2 a team i think its possible

Dapz

Agree1 Disagree3

Qpr have agreed a fee with ramirez club

Agree1 Disagree3

He scored a free kick today so I guess his price must be £20m or more now, ridiculous window prices like most of them now because of Chelsea, PSG, Man City and one it two others.

Agree1 Disagree1

^ troll much, didn't even bother to look up "Ramirez club" that really is quite pathetic

Steed

Agree2 Disagree0

Ramirez is a fantastic player, sure. But we already have rafa and siggurdsson. There is no way we sign this guy, it's just not necessary
