Hi Ed's,

Any update on Soldado, I hearing the deal is not dead in the water just yet.

Apparently Valencia are considering our offer of €26 million, with the €4 paid in add ons at a later date, players terms have already been agreed, of which they're now looking at the Brazilian Fred to replace him.

Personally I would say to Sunderland give us 4 million sterling you have Huddleston tonight. Then transfer that into Valencias bank account job done.

Then move onto the left back, which a few of the guys/posters on here are saying Kolorov is up for grabs. Why not he'd fit straight in. Good player, definitely better than what we have, don't get me wrong BAE has been a good servant but we're progressing above his level of play now. {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there has been no change in the Soldado situation. The offer is sat there waiting, Valencia are just trying to drum up other offers or see if they can convince Spurs to up their bid. In the meantime, they are searching for a replacement, though I was told it was some Uruguayan forward playing in Italy for Lazio or Napoli, I forget which. I did have a quick check of both team's squads, thinking it would be easy to job my memory as there is bound to only be one Uruguayan between them, so that will be who it is. Unfortunately, they have a few between them and I couldn't figure out which one it was.}

Arsenal might jump in for him if they fail to get Suarez, which is likely.

Ed02, I saw something on the LFC page where you said it would probably b too late for Liverpool to nip in and sign Soldaldo. Does this mean you have solid info on a transfer to spurs, or was it just your opinion that Liverpool wouldn't be able to match what we have bid in time.

TottenhamOxspur {Ed002's Note - Spurs have had the opportunity to conclude the deal and are wasting everyone's time over trivia now. They are aware it needs to be resolved very quickly - and I expect that they will resolve it.}

Yes Daniel Levy just needS to meet the release clause as Valencia won't budge otherwise someone else will and he will be gone. Sometimes Levy can't be blamed for not bidding over the top, but Soldado has got proven class and has scored stacks of goals and is well worth the investment. Benteke I can understand why he didn't put an offer in as Aston Villa wanted too much for a player that only had one good season.

Its not just about meeting the buy out clause (yes that has to be done). Its also about the terms/way in which Valencia wish to be paid. As far as i'm aware (grapevine talk) we basically offered the release clause but based on paying bits later not all in one go and possibly performance related.

Liverpool are set to beat us to soldado. Another one we've missed out on through penny pinching!

From what I have been able to piece together, the majority of Valencia's board wanted to accept the offer Spurs have made, supposedly the President has blocked it. Soldado has foregone personal bonuses in order to push a move out of Valencia and may consider a formal transfer request if he feels the club are being unreasonable in their demands. The deal is very much alive and only somebody coming in with a buyout clause meeting, cash upfront bid will change that.
