Valencia reject spurs bid for Soldado!

Valencia agreed to meet spurs officials again today as they were convinced the buy out clause of £26 mil/€30 mil would be met but didn't materialise.

Surprise surprise Levy squabbling over 2-3 mil or so. Liverpool or some other club will come straight in and offer £26 mil and that will be another top striker missed!

Levy get your act together and get this del done before its 2 late

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Still have til august 3rd. ? Right? If he doesn't bring any decent striker/s in, I think it would be an idea if he considered he's position at the club. too often have we been let down in the Windows not getting what we really need. I'm not saying pay the full amount asked for every player we try to sign, but every so often when real quality becomes available he should just cough up

Agree4 Disagree5

Not sure about this one, £26m for a 28 year old is to much!

Agree8 Disagree2

Fool, after the 4 seasons we have had.

£26 mil/30 mil for 28 year old no prem expierence lots of money to gamble agree with levy for once. damino for £17mil younger more hungry

Agree6 Disagree4

Did you see damiao's record last season, was awful. Soldado has good seasons throughout his career

Agree5 Disagree2

Would it be sane to spend 26 mill on one quality forward, or get a couple good younger forwards who could come through like bale did and we would then have more forwards to choose from. just a thought. barb

During the boring Benteke saga I posted news that talks and meetings had already taken place between Madrid and Bale and was laughed at told I had no sources and that it would not happen.

Madrid had gone quiet but were always preparing. Spurs will look to hang on to Bale but £50-60m plus Coentrao looks likely to happen, provided Coentrao agrees and the meetings all go well (for Madrid anyways)

Spurs will spend the whole £50m. The Soldado move could well go through as well as James McCarthy perhaps and moves for some very highly rated young players from the continent

Believable6 Unbelievable16

Not going to happen as AVB and Levy have stated multiple times that Bale is 100% not for sale and won't be leaving Spurs during this transfer window.

Agree6 Disagree6

He's not leaving this summer we all know this, what Marca are saying is nonesense. Bale has not put in a transfer request and is happy to stay for 1 more year!
KMB

Agree5 Disagree5

Look if bale wants to go and the price is right[80million] then sell him and invest all the money back in the team. saldado is a must either way and why not try with a cheeky bid for suarez

Agree2 Disagree8

I'm pretty sure paulinho said that when he joined that he was assured bale would stay this season

Agree6 Disagree5

And this is then the 2nd post about it where by you are wrong :)

Agree6 Disagree3

Didn't you say the same about berbatov he wasn't for sale but still ended up at United if bale wants to go its best that you take the money wheter it be madrid or united. No point having players that don't want to be there guys sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the lad will not be wearing the white of spurs next season

Agree2 Disagree7

If your going to use berbatov as an example why not use modric 2 seasons ago when he handed in a transfer request and wanted to go to Chelsea we said said no and even when they bid 40m on deadline day we still refused to sell and we only sold him last year as his price would have decreased this year, a problem that we don't have with bale he has a long contract and if he goes and scores another 20 goals next season it will be the same if no more

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree that if he doesn't want to stay then let him go but Bale isn't that sort of guy. He's very humble and too respectful to force his way out. Reported amounts isn't something to be ignored so its actually going to be down to Levy rather than Bale, that worrys me more though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Mr bearer of bad news, when has Bale said he doesn't want to be at Spurs? Don't come on this site making up bull!

Agree6 Disagree0

According to tv website do your homework get over it the lads on the way to spain to play in one of the best teams in the world not some tin pot north london team unlucky accept it and move on lol

Agree3 Disagree6

Not a spurs fan, but it seems pretty clear to me that bale isn't looking to leave. why would he want to? the team are playing excellent football of which he is a focal point. you've got a top class manager who he clearly loves playing for. get yourselves a 20 goals a season striker and you'll be putting together a good challenge this season

Agree8 Disagree1

Ha "according to tv website" is that where you get all your information mate?! I just read on a website that the moon landings were fake, the world is run by lizards and 9/11 was an inside job!

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently levy is going to break the clubs wage bracket to keep bale. I still don't think it will be enough I think he wants to go

Ed can you confirm that this story of of a transfer request and agreeing a 6 year deal with Real is rubbish regarding Bale? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is nothing in it. The only thing he has ever said to people who know him, is that he is happy at Spurs, for now, but would like to play abroad in the future.}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Typical #MARCA rubbish asusual! {Ed001's Note - it must be remembered, they are a Real Madrid mouthpiece, they will often try and force issues on the club's behalf.}

Agree9 Disagree6

Ask yourself a question, Chadli £7m, Paulinho £17m and now Soldado £20m. A total of £43m with no Champions League revenues, or perhaps you thought Levy had a £50m warchest tucked under his bed for a rainy day like today.

Bale is an amazing player, truly world class in every way, but please be reasonable. We need a new stadium which will cost millions, we also need Champion League football if we are to grow to the next level. One might argue we need Gareth Bale to achieve both, but that would be true oy if we had a superb team without around him.

If the Real Madrid rumours are true, I think we would actually move forward if we sold him for £80m+. The expenditure rules are looming, and never again will we see these type of values. Spurs can rebuild in a few positions, and move away from our current one dimensional structure, into a multi channelled team again.

Agree8 Disagree8

He sat out training today.
If he doesn't play tomoro then avb will have to fend off a lot of questions.

Agree6 Disagree5

This can't be true.

Bale isn't the type of person to hand in a transfer request. Especially after all the priase he has of Spurs and how he is happy here.

Also, levy has categorically said that Bale is 100% not for sale at ANY price. I know he said this about Modric, but Modric was trying to force his way out and wasn't happy. It's different with Bale. He's still young and has 14/15 years left in him to play. Plenty of time to join Europe's Elite. He's not ready yet.

Agree9 Disagree5

If you watch Spurs TV posted today with Walker interviewing his teammates, Spurs, although reportedly injured, Bale is in Hong Kong training with the team, not exactly the actions of someone who just "agreed" to personal terms with another team. It is a BS story making the rounds. The video was shot during yesterday's training session.
~Croatian Yid!

Agree6 Disagree4

Bale isn't going anywhere this Summer - end of! The money being spent is TV revenue - think about it. the tv deal is worth loads more than previous years, that coupled with the usual Summer spending which excludes player transfers ie. Huddlestone etc and Bentley, Gallas etc leaving due to contracts expiring - we have money to spend! Bale will leave but NOT this Summer!

Agree8 Disagree5

Bale is off. There's reports everywhere now.

To be fair who could blame him, If the clubs showing no ambition by not signing a striker - Tottenham are now on the slide.

Agree8 Disagree15

£80m+? Come on mate, £60m will be a bit of a push! He's not as good as CR7

Agree10 Disagree11

Did nobody see the press conference with AVB? He said categorically that Bale is going nowhere and rumours like this are natural after the season he had. Bale took a knock in training and will not feature against Sunderland, but should be fit to play in the second game of the tournament.

Bale is going nowhere this summer. Levy has sanctioned deals to show Bale we have the ambition so go to the next level. He wouldn't do that if he was about to offload his prized asset.

Fear not. Gareth will be in the front 3 wearing number 11 at Tottenham next season.

Dom

Agree11 Disagree6

Considering we haven't spent as largely compared to the other teams around us in recent years I think we are in a posistion to spend without selling bale. and to say we are not rebuilding is mad. What do we honestly need now. a striker. which I can see us doing this week with soldado. Maybe a couple of frnge players and then that's it.

Sean

Agree5 Disagree4

The reports aren't everywhere it is just every site copy and pasting what marca have said a load of rubbish. last week they said bale was staying for a season as levy was not willing to negotiate with them and now they are saying he has handed in a transfer request. he is on the front cover of fifa with a spurs shirt and is part of Bt so if he did leave i'm sure he would lose out on a lot of money as fifa would have asked for assurances that he would be staying before they put him on the front cover with a spurs shirt otherwise they would be made to look like persons {Ed052's Note - Because Bale is on a kids game and a TV advert doesn't mean he is staying}

Agree5 Disagree3

Thats right ed 52 it doesn't but equally its a good indication he is staying. or are you just trying to stir things up

derbyshire dave {Ed052's Note - Why is it a od indication he will stay. I think he will, but EA Sports don't ring up Spurs, and say ''Is Bale staying, we want him on the cover'', same with BT. They have him beucase he is popular, and draws people to buy the game/get BT, not as a secret message to y'all}

Agree4 Disagree1

Was just going to say the same. Please don't be naive enough to think that because Bale is on the cover of fifa and he promoted your new kit that he is staying 100%. Anything can happen.

Agree1 Disagree2

I, like all Spurs fans want him to stay but i'm seriously wandering why he just doesn't come out and say so.

All it would take is the club to release a statement on Gareths behalf saying that he is happy at Spurs, is settled in his family life and that he doesn't want to go anywhere. That'd end all this BS once and for all. He has had plenty of time to do it after all.

A worried Flippit.

Agree2 Disagree1

Bale is going, end of. Stop dreaming, why would anyone choose Spurs over Real Madrid?. Playing for them is the peak of anyones career, it can't get better. Get real and hope Levy gives ALL the fee to AVB.

Agree3 Disagree7

But what were saying is that as EA have him on the cover with a SPURS shirt they would look stupid and it would be bad for business if he did leave so obviously they think he will say and ED we never said that they ring up spurs {Ed007's Note - This is a football site, to discuss real-life football. If you want to talk about video games we have a site for that. I haven't read so much garbage in a long time.}

Agree3 Disagree1

I really think he is off this time. Nothing is being said and that's worrying. Also coentrao left training earlier. Is he involved in any deal? It wouldn't Suprise me. On a day when I woke up with our potential team containing bale, chadli and soldado together, niw it's all going tats up.
Keep bale, sign soldado and coentrao and we have a top 3/4 first team.
Wake up levy ffs.

Agree1 Disagree2

Flipit,

If gareth even gives the rumors one sentence in the media he will be hounded. No matter what he says his words will be relayed as either he wants to leave, or they think "he doth protest too much" and he's leaving.

You can't win with the media. Learn this lesson from mourinho. Its best he says nothing

RY

Agree1 Disagree0

He HAS already said he is looking forward to help spurs get fourth spot this year, unless he meant with the signings we can make with ALL that lovely money ha ha

derbyshire dave

Agree4 Disagree1

So ed 52 you were just tring to stir things up with you comments. you say in one message you think he will stay (once pushed on the matter) but in a throw away comment you say it doesn't mean he is staying. had you not wanted to stir things up you might have said "doesnt mean he is staying but I think he will stay" this would have been more clear on a very very sensitve issue on this page.

derbyshire dave {Ed052's Note - Dave. Becuae he is on an advert doesn't mean he will stay. But I think he will. I don't understand why your confused}

Agree2 Disagree0

Im not now you have cleared things up.

Reports coming in that we have more or less agreed a fee for soldado

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Where did you see the report?

Agree3 Disagree1

More or less? So we haven't agreed a fee then.

Agree5 Disagree1

Did he say we have agreed a fee?

Agree0 Disagree2

This deal has fallen through. Typical Spurs. Moaning over 1 million or so.

Agree4 Disagree0

He said, "more or less agreed a fee" so yes, yes he did.

Agree1 Disagree1

Baldini met with Valencia staff Monday, made a bid of 18-20 million but was told 30 million euros with a set payment plan. he was asked to come back this morning (Tuesday)with that as our bid. he failed to turn up.

Agree0 Disagree0

More or less? Well as far as I know that means just about done but not quite 100%, so no he didn't say we had agreed a fee but if a fee hasn't been agreed then I think it is a long way from being "more or less a done deal"

Agree0 Disagree0

Tv, bid rejected want 26 million this won't happen
Rushie

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally believe that remy will join us in this transfer window. he is a great striker playing for a championship team and not to mention he might be cheap compared to other strikers and he has a bit of experience in the league and he isn't exactly old either.

Agree1 Disagree0

Remy has serious pending legal actions that could result in prison time. I can't see anything other than a loan deal for Remy.

Agree2 Disagree0

Eds do know if it is true that Spurs have bid for Lisandro Lopez from Lyon, I have heard we tabled a £7.5m (10m Euro) for him late last week?

Also is there any firm interest in Bernard from us? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, there have been no bids for either from Spurs.}
