I have a pal who lives up in Burnley and goes to their games quite a bit and he has told me there is some rumblings around there that we are interested in Charlie Austin. Don't know how true this is but it does have Levy written all over it. A cheap option with a possible sell on profit.

Just passing on the rumours guys so don't shot me down.

Ed... do u believe it?
Now what role does Gylfi play?
He hasn't even been given a chance!

{Ed002's Note - The Spurs story comes from a journalist speculating that a sale, not a loan, to Spurs may be possible - but I have no confirmation that it is true at this time. If a move for Moutinho cannot be put together by Spurs, then an approach to Sneijder does make sense. PSG and Fenerbhace are the two most likely destinations for Sneijder at this time although Schalke 04 have been packaging up an ambitious bid. Anzhi and Spartak Moscow retain an interest in him but chances of a move to Russia seem to be near zero. I don't know of any remaining interest from Manchester United. There is a very slim chance that he could make a surprise move somewhere else and discussions have been held with a club on a different continent, but I would supect that is something for the future.}

You were indeed correct, and it is fantastic that some players still have dignity. Schalke gave him his opportunity and he was top goal scorer in the Bundesleague. At 29 yrs old and clearly enjoying his game, he has shown loyalty to the club who believed in him. I was shocked as the normal exploitation of contractual fruition has become common place.

Well done Huntelaar and good luck for the future. You have shown you are not of the Sol Campbell school of selfish greed. At least the cultures will have to pay Schalke a fortune if they come stealing.

The Mirror is reporting that we may be looking into a move for Younes Belhanda in January. I know it's only The Mirror, but I think this would be a fantastic signing for spurs especially if we can get him for the reported £10million. He's got vision, technical ability and the physical attributes required to carry his form into the premier league. I think this guy has spurs written all over him, he could be exactly what we need at the front of a 3 man midfield and he can also provide cover for the wings. What do you guys think?

Adam {Ed002's Note - In the later half of last season Belhanda attracted confirmed interest from Malaga, Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and PSG and there was unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player said he wished a move to Italy or to Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy or Germany was not possible (it seems he was not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros was been quoted by Montpellier but they are unlikely to get it. I suspect that he will be staying in the South of France until at least the summer when Atletico Madrid hope to make a move for the player. I will caveat this by saying that if anything changes and there is interest in January, then that interest will come from Inter Milan, who have baulked at the price being asked for their first choice midfielder - Paulinho, or Fenerbahce.}

Fair enough Ed, I guess there's no chance then!

Hey Ed.. any news on Llorente or Eriksen? {Ed002's Note - Whilst Fernando Llorente is still interesting a number of clubs talks of a January move to Juventus have again taken place with agreement on personal details reached with Llorente's advisors. Whilst Chelsea, and I suspect Manchester City, have dropped their interest, a number of other clubs were scared off by the size of the transfer fee being asked by Athletic Bilbao, regardless of his contract expiring in the summer. There is now a good chance that he will move in January rather than waiting for the summer. Recent interest from Arsenal, Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has been ramping up but will likely come to nothing. Athletic Bilbao are not getting value from the player right now and are resigned to losing him and I suspect will seek to get Juventus to double their low offer to facilitate a January move. His alternatives will be to sign a new contract (very unlikely), sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down and go for a good sized signing on fee.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs and Manchester City may well return for him again. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons. With only limited options for January, I suspect the player would wish to see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

Thanks Ed! Hope Verts can do us one favour more! Keeping positive!
