According to Sports website "newshound" L'Pool are considering offering HR their vacant managers position.

Personally I'd like to see the back of him but then with the players we already need to buy this season do we really need the added expense of getting a new manager too

What's your thoughts guys?

Mk1

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Why would he even consider it?

Plus his wife won't let him work up north {Ed003's Note - Never mind his wife,would Rosie let him? }

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would you want rid of Redknapp. this is our most consistent period in the top flight in god knows how long. I know he loves old boys but that's not all he's done. Walker, Livermore, Sandro, VDV, Kaboul (and thats not even our great youth team) I understand that Levy has a large say in the transfers but I don't see him buying players without so much as consulting HR in which players he'd like for his squad. And thats not even mentioning that we play some of the most attractive football in England. No one would say that about us before Redknapp, so why so keen to "see the back of him"?

Agree5 Disagree0

HR happy living at Sandbanks he maybe tempted by chavski's but not liverpool. The fact theat they want him says we take him for granted maybe and underestimate what he has done. Lets get behind him for next season and see then. COYS

Agree1 Disagree0

It's not like he's given us european football for three years on the trot. Oh and even without CL this year, his name alone is enough for players like Remy, Vertonghen and Damiao to consider a move for us (reports today suggest Remy would come to spurs as long as Redknapps still here) So please, PLEASE tell me why the hell you wanna see the back of him?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed, keep up. During the court case he said Rosie had been dead for years! {Ed007's Note - I didn't think dogs died! My dad told me years ago they went to stay on farms when they got old. I imagine Rosie could have afforded better than a farm though. I'm thinking Boycie in the Only Fools spin off.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard Rosie moved to a French farm not far from the border with Monaco - so that could confirm your dads rumor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst levy is over speaking to Ajax
..... I think he should also smuggle Erikson out in his suitcase
Bear yid

Believable18 Unbelievable3

There are lots of jems over there which i wouldn't mind him to smuggle.

Spurs Lad

Agree6 Disagree3

Tbh I can't see ajax selling him for the kinda money we'd likely want to pay :/ would be great though

Steed

Agree5 Disagree1

Agreed! that errikson is quality, star in the making

Agree4 Disagree2

Yea errikson be perfect replacement for modric if he goes i tink he even necome better then modric

Agree2 Disagree2

Well if modric was sold use money getting a replacement be it temporary ish .... Ie if a good play maker who is on the older side is available snap them up cheaply get Erikson in as the long term replacement and of money is left over help to lure strikers

Agree1 Disagree3

I've heard that we are looking a t siem de jong from ajax too

Spurs Lad

Agree2 Disagree2

Maybe while Levy is there he could swap Modric(as he wants C/L footy next year) for Erricson and there keeper(Skeltenburg or whatever he is called but is apparently pretty good) and vertonghen.

we get 3 quality players in positions that we need and get rid of over-rated Luka( although he does make us tick his goal scoring is non existent).

not gonna happen but kinda hoping. just hoping Levy doesn't come back empty handed.

Agree1 Disagree3

Stekelingburg(Spelling) joined Roma last season

Spurs Lad

Agree3 Disagree0

Steklenburg (the keeper) has already left hence vertonghen was given the captaincy, though many were saying he deserved it anyway

Agree1 Disagree0

Stekelenburg went to Roma last year for about 20 quid, it was so cheap I was so annoyed we weren't going for him

Agree1 Disagree0

Christian Eriksen is not a star in the making, he is a star already made. Absolute class, young and already better than Modric. Why he has not been snapped up is about as big a mystery as Papiss Cisse and Davide Santon. How the he'll they ended up with the toon is simply unbelievable, let's grab Eriksen for £15m before someone realises he is worth £50m.

The Oracle {Ed001's Note - he hasn't been snapped up because he is not interested in a move yet. So far, he has rejected all overtures, saying he wants to stay at Ajax for a couple more years, then go to Spain.}

Agree0 Disagree3

ED please dont lower the standard here, you know full well that he is on £23k at Ajax and any advance of £15m with £50k+ wages would sign him.

I was shocked when keeping an eye on Papiss Cisse for exactly the same reason. He was scored more than 1:2 goals to game ration for club and country and clearly looked the total package. When he was top goalscorer in the Bundesleague for the lowly Freiburg FC, I was shocked when he signed for Newcastle.

If you look around Europe there are players that look the real deal and I am amazed clubs like Spurs are not getting them in. For example:

Andre Schurrie @ Bayern Leverkusen
Alan Dzagoev @ CSKA Moscow
Yann M'Vila @ Rennes
Kevin Strootman @ PSV
Christian Eriksen @ Ajax
Antoine Griezmann @ Real Sociedad
Luc Castaignos @ Feyenoord

All sure to become top class players who could be purchased a great prices right now. As harsh at it sound I would ditch players like Krancjar, Bentley, Jenas, Bassong, Cudicini, Corluka, Nelson and Saha and bring in young talent who are desparate to prove themselves at the highest level. Sadly Redknapp's solution is to have a great first XI padded with ageing reserves like Saha, Nelson, Gallas and probably Yakubu and perhaps Rio Ferdinand in 2 or 3 years time. The future needs to blend experienced super stars like Van Der Vaart, Modric and Parker with emerging hungry talent. That way you get the growth and development under the guidance of stars, with the hunger and appetite to win when given the opportunity. You continue to rely on a reserve team of Cudicini, Rose, Nelson, Bassong, Corluka, Krancjar, Livermore, Jenas, Bentley with Saha and Kane and you have a recipe for disaster. I would not be comfortable they would win even if playing a low league qualifiers in the Uefa Cup.

The Oracle {Ed001's Note - give it a rest lad, you aren't in the know, clearly, as has been proven time and time again. Eriksen has said, when approached by a number of clubs, that he is not interested in leaving Ajax yet and that he wants to go to Spain when he does leave. Keep your nonsense fantasy figures regarding money to yourself, because you really are talking rubbish. Liverpool offered well over those figures to him, the same January they signed Suarez from Ajax, that was what held up the Suarez deal, Liverpool's attempts to include Eriksen or a first option on Eriksen, in the deal.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Well ED you are making yourself look childish now, sorry if you believe the Daily Mail type speculation. My record has been absolutely amazing on here with two blemishes Cahill and Damiao. You are quick to forget Adebayor, Modric, Defoe's return with Kabould and even the Crouch and Pavlyuchenko sales. Well Damiao is about to close one chapter as it Vertonghen. Then we will see if the more knowledgable viewers back your statement or believe
mine.

The Oracle {Ed001's Note - you never got anything right, you just lie through your teeth. Stop talking nonsense. You are the one who just writes what is in the papers. You have been warned about your lies before, you have not got any track record of success, you did not call any transfers, in fact you made a complete imbecile of yourself talking about the Olympic stadium. Grow up and stop trying to pretend to know something because you have read a newspaper.}

Sky says Damiao is hinting at a move, could he finally be coming here or is he going somewhere else? Any news ed?

Steed {Ed001's Note - last I heard he was likely to be going to Italy, Palermo I think it was, but I might have got that wrong as I never noted it down and am relying on my memory (which isn't that good!).}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

He hinted at juve but i think he could still be persuaded to join us. But we need to get in now meet fee and do the deal and not haggle over small amounts like we have been doing.

Agree4 Disagree2

He hasn't hinted at anywhere in particular but it had been reported that he would prefer a move to England over Spain or Italy

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed - I hope you are wrong! I could understand a player preferring juve, but surely were a better prospect than Palermo! {Ed001's Note - Palermo have a lot of money to spend, talking over £100m this summer.}

I had detailed the three main targets as Damiao, Hazard & Vertonghen. I expressed that all three were heavily reliant on Champions League qualification. Well after the Russian Mafia nicked our place, it would be a miracle if we could secure those names now. However I am delighted to inform you that Vertonghen has finally agreed to join, and Ajax have now accept our slightly increased offer.

Hazard is still keen on Spurs but we cannot compete with Chelsea on wages and Champions League status. It would be a near miracle if he joined us, but Levy is trying to broker a number of solutions to acquire him. Not a forlorn hope by any means but surely this is dead or is it?

Damiao was nailed on to join as soon as we qualified, but this set back has created a stumbling block. The great news is the bouncing games his agent played last year have closed a number of doors at big clubs. Levy is pushing with all his powers to use our corporate partnership to drive through a deal at a cut price fee. Do not write this transfer off as this is seriously still a top target and a realistic one.

We are also in the throws of looking at options for Ben Foster, Junior Hoilett, Klaas Huntelaar and none other than Loic Remy. I hope Levy is put off Remy as he looks vastly overrated in a mediocre league. I would love Huntelaar he has always been a top striker in my opinion, and I would take Hoilett if the price is right. Foster is a great option from the English crop, and I would imagine this will materialise as the costs will be minimal.

The Oracle

Believable7 Unbelievable6

No chance Hazard was ever going to join us. He stated over a fortnight ago that he would be playing in blue next season! Damiao? No chance, Vertonghen is the only chance as we can guarantee his first team football. Stop posting things that you are purely speculating over. All it does is make you look like a complete t**t

Agree5 Disagree6

And since stating he will be playing in blue has now changed his mind and said he doesn't know where he will play!

Agree4 Disagree3

Have a hard time sometimes with some of the posts on here. Modric, whom we all saw play probably his most least effective season so far at the spurs, hasnt said anything about leaving, and until he does i will keep my mind open to him staying, knowing he cant play as bad again as he did in 2011/2012. If Jan the man is coming that is the BEST signing we can have as we need a steady CH that we can build around for the next few years, and with Kaboul, be as solid a centre partnership as we have had since the 60's. Ade will be a great signing again if we can get him in permanently, with AN Other (Either the brazilian Damaio or Remy or Huntelar would be brilliant). Have always reckoned Diarra, and we will have a hopefully fit (and thinner )Huddlestone back this year so with others coming through I think midfield will be sorted. We wil need to sort what we do regarding a keeper, though we had no problems this season, and perhaps we can get another good one before we need to replace him. Even though I was as disappointed as you all when chlski won the CL Final, I still believe that we will improve this year and finish high enough that we wont need to rely on other teams losing to qualify for the CL. This is the best period of both playing style and results that we have had since the 60's in my opinion and I think we need to look at the new seasson positively and with anticipation. Im even pleaseed walker is injured for the Euros, as i dont see us doing so well and he will be rested for the new season, now if only parker would tweak his achiles and miss out as well, we could get him fit for the new season also. keep the faith guys, look forward to a new season, of attacking, attractive play, with pace and flair, a solid defence and and a bouncing WHL. Perfick!!!

In my opinion ..... Anybody who is still talking about hazard to us is stark raving mad ....
Damiao .... I think there is a slight chance as we had broomfield over there last week watching him again ....
Verghonten .... It looks like its in the bag .... But this is football who says I don't know Chelsea want him pay over the asking price and give him 120k wages ..... Anything can happen ergo I truly get excited and believe things now when the clubs themselves have actually confirmed it

Hazard - 0.0000000000001 % chance of joining

Damiao - eh no more than a 40% I reckon

Vert - probably high 80s

At this moment in time there isn't word back from anywhere that Daniel levy has been successful ....

Agree4 Disagree2

Oracle I would be much more inclined to agree with you if you weren't constantly pretending to be ITK. Everybody knows you are just speculating, why pretend otherwise?

I agree that Foster, Hoilett and Vertonghen are good transfer options, I agree with what you said about Remy, and I believe that we still have an outside chance with Damiao, Huntelaar and even Hazard, but I do not believe that you are any more ITK than I am and I wish you'd stop deluding yourself and taking us all for fools. Come back down to Earth, admit that you are speculating like the rest of us and have a proper discussion for once.

Agree6 Disagree2

Kwadwo asamoah from udinese is latest target, which could be modric replacement. Not sure how good he is just saw it on sly web site. Any thoughts?

Agree1 Disagree5

The Russian mafia 'nicked' your place, you mean they won the champions league, whatever you think chelsea deserve to be in it over spurs, 4th spot shudent mean 'Champions' league qualification anyway, chelsea were good enough to win it so they deserve to defend it, they also won the FA cup aswell btw or did they 'nick' that aswell

Agree4 Disagree6

They actually were no where near good enough to win that cup ..... But s**t happens

Agree3 Disagree4

Fool they won it therefore they WERE GOOD ENOUGH!

Agree2 Disagree2

Sadly I am ITK which just shows you how uninformed people can be who are supposedly informed. I gave Vertonghen, Damiao and Hazard way before all the hype many weeks ago. I said deals were dependent on Champions League Football and that doesnt mean they are over, just more difficult to achieve.

Hazard reportedly has said many things, and how do you know it they are true he was being clever and talking about out away kit.

Anyway enough arguments and just hope Levy is the bearer of great news. On a positive note perhaps Levy is off to Amsterdam for a sightseeing tour !

The Damiao deal was so close but delayed in the last window and whilst our lack of Champions League Football is a concern, I would be extremley confident that this will be wrapped up as predicted very soon as well.

Remember I have been the stuck record as ED and many of you told me I was deluded as he was linked with AC Milan and Juventus. I told you not to underestimate our partnership and the power of commercial pressure, but again you laughed. Soon we will have the Vertonghen and Damiao deals int he bag and who know maybe just maybe we can pull of the impossible in Hazard.

The Oracle

Agree3 Disagree4

Hoilett ''at the right price'' He is available on a free transfer and we have to compete with Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United, Newcatle and Stoke for his signature.
You ''sources'' are lies. Daimaio, Vertonghen etc are deals that are common knowledge.
If you're ITK as you claim, How come you have failed to mention that Kaka plus ££ has been spoken about with Real Madrid for the transfer of Modric?
Or the negotioations for Butland of Brum. Stop scouring Twitter and other media outlets and making yourself look stupid.

Agree3 Disagree0

To the person poster above, actually Chelsea did 'nick' the FA Cup as well with a game-killing ghost goal they were given in the semi-final. Spurs used all their energy and adrenaline to get one goal back in what was already up to then and going to continue to be a tight game without that ridiculous decision. As for the Champs League, credit to them for hanging in there but Barca missed a stack at the Bridge, Messi missed a pen at Camp Nou, they went backs to the wall with 10men and we all saw the craziness of 1 corner vs 20odd in the final. Bayern with all the ball but couldn't hit a barn-door and even the missed penalty. Chelsea were determined and resolute but very very lucky over 3 games (and hung on against Benfica at the end and were nearly finished vs Napoli). 4th place has deserved a Champs League spot every year for a long time, even when Liverpool won it as well Everton stayed in. Chelsea were 6th in the league and much poorer than usual this season, making their ultimate success even more amazing - that's football and why we love and sometimes hate it. Ultimately Spurs threw away 3rd with a terrible run but plenty of circumstances wrecked their season as well. With even 1/1000000th of Chelsea's luck this season and just one of the 3-4 clearly onside goals that were disallowed (including one against Chelski) would've stood and they'd have finished 3rd anyway. Those are the tight margins and Spurs were on the wrong side of them.

A great post. Accurate and reasonable. Pity it was not signed. I woild add to it by saying that the fates were against us. Chelsea winning the CL is one example and just to give one more, Foster injured himself in training just before the Gooners gams. Fulop came in and gifted two goals and let in a third which my Granny would have saved. If Foster had been playing we would W Brom would have kept a clean sheep and we would have been third. When fate is against you there is not much you can do.

The Don

The Don

Agree3 Disagree0

To The Don,

Cheers, I will sign below this time. I forgot about the Fulop fiasco as well! He gifted all 3, 2 of them were tragic but even the fierce shot was almost straight at him and he could only push it two inches to the side and inside the post, awful. Whichever way you look at this season there has been no luck at all (Balotelli shouldn't have been on the pitch vs City, Foy at Stoke missing a Crouch handball for their goal and Shawcross handling on the line keeping the ball out as well as the clearly onside Ade goal etc etc). You get odd things that go both ways across a season but this year on and off the pitch it has been one thing after another (Wolves goal from a corner that never was as Kyle ushered it out for a clear goal kick then a disallowed onside goal for us later in the game). It was a crazy season even without the court case messing up the Jan transfers and the England manager disruption. Not forgetting a riot getting our first game called off and we started the next two with Modric in the clouds, injuries and cobwebs in the system. A cardiac-arrest for poor Muamba meaning we started the Stoke game like a bunch of zombies 2 days later and despite 70% possession only got a point.

Accept that it was a year of freak events on and off the pitch, learn some lessons and add Vertonghen, Hoilet/Robben and Damiao/Huntelaar (not sure about Remy, we'll see) and we could have another good crack at things next year.
