As long as that ball is rolling towards a decent striker (out and out) signing then no!

Connor Spurs it seems you need a little help. Walker is already our RB, and Rose, BAE & Fryer play LB.

The formation of 4-2-3-1 seems to be an interesting one, but I think AVB will switch to 4-3-3 if he gets to put his stamp on the team this year. It is beginning to look like;

Lloris
Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, BAE
Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele
Chadli Soldado Bale

Would be interesting to see that formation and line up. In a couple of weeks all will be clear.

Agree2 Disagree2

Hey connor I just read your post on the banter page. shouldn't you be getting angry that our latest signing Chadli is not a striker?

Reports in Belgium and holland saying chadli deal is done 7 mill.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

I really can see this happening. Once we have a reliable left sided midfielder (please not the word Reliable) Gareth Bale can complete his transformation from defender to striker and play up front perminatly hence the reason why no frontman has been bought. Only if Defoe or Ade leave will one be added.

Agree4 Disagree5

Will be unveiled Wednesday after he agrees personal terms and passes a medical on Monday/Tuesday.

Agree3 Disagree3

Won't be unvailed Wednesday. Already on spurs official site. His agent said medical today (Sunday) and will meet up with squad in Hong Kong. If levy had got him for €7million, then that is an absolute bargain. My guesses we won't sign Bernard now.
Well, he was supposedly off to Roma so this will be a baldini signing

Or it could be today?

He can play both wings and will surely be competition for Lennon rather than bale? Which would still leave us short a striker! {Ed001's Note - Bale has made it abundantly clear that he wants to play central, AVB tried to accommodate him as much as possible last season. Do you not think it is likely that Chadli has been bought so that Bale can get his wish and move into the middle? Which also cuts back on the desperate need for a striker, as Bale would be playing up there.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Well put ed, would you say that Spurs will make 1 signing up top given what you've suggested there? {Ed001's Note - I still expect Spurs to bring in a forward, AVB wants to replace Adebayor.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Don't understand that though ed, he was quality last year lmao

Agree0 Disagree2

What about Bernard to cover the left wing then ed? {Ed001's Note - I would expect Townsend/Rose to provide the cover.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree ED I think Spurs will sign a top striker and Bale to play just behind and Defoe a supersub role, Chadli's a very good signing but Lennon is so injury prone that it still leaves us light up top as Chadli would have to fill in and Bale back to left wing as last season. but when that happens this season what about pushing Walker forward Naughton to right back Chadli stays left wing and Bale stays upfront you can have that one on me if you want AVB lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Bale played a free role regularly and scored a stack of goals so WE STILL NEED A STRIKER given we have come up short up there 2 yrs in a row.

Eds any chance of signing modic had a bad season last year at real and I can't see him starting this year, I thought a cheeky bid may persuade him and Madrid to let him go! I would love him back {Ed001's Note - he is available but not heard of anything regarding anyone going for him yet, which strikes me as odd. Might be one to watch for later in the window.}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Modric is no doubt a quality player, however I don't see him wanting to come back to us due to how levy handled his transfer. also if he is available I would think Manchester United would be interested as a better and maybe/maybe not cheaper option to fabregas. anyways, I loved modric but don't think it will happen. sandro, dembele, paulino centre three. sandro was our best player before injury, dembele was class but faded last couple of games and no one breaks their transfer fee to put the player on the bench.

JRP coys

Agree3 Disagree2

Dembele seemed to fade after sandro's injury & had to put in more defensive work but with Sandro & Paulinho behind him then Dembele could be a real handfull this season.

Agree3 Disagree1

Why would we want modric back, it might sulk again and force a transfer somewhere else. Caused enough hassle last time and isn't half as good as Bale

Agree3 Disagree1

Modric a class player if you slag him off your just talking s**t love to have him back. just never going to happen

Ed what is the story with bernard and higuan? Are we interested? They would improve our attack. {Ed001's Note - I have asked around, unable to find anything on Higuain to Spurs, probably the same reason he has rebuffed any thought of going to Liverpool, the lack of Champions League football. Bernard there was talk of an interest in him, around the same time you moved for Paulinho, could it have been an either or situation?}

Joel Pohjanpalo signing imminent for Spurs. A superb young prospect, but surely not the big signing we were all expecting. Could be a real star for the future, and provides some additional firepower should Defoe & Adebayor fail to perform, but we really need a striker like Soldado if we are going for a Top 4 spot.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Calm down still got a month yet to sign a striker better than adebayor

Agree1 Disagree3

What do you mean, fail to perform?
What the same as last year!

Agree4 Disagree4

Yes davo. The same as last year.
Well done for working that out all by yourself.

Agree6 Disagree0

Wow us Spurs fans are tense, even sarcasm not noticed ther

Agree1 Disagree3

Joel Pohjanpalo looks like a really good prospect, but will probably be loaned out if he arrives.
