Spurs to launch bid for benteke in the next 72 hours

Believable8 Unbelievable14

I'm hearing benteke's villa mate yacouba sylla has convinced him to stay another season at villa. is it just me or should we be pushing for better & more loyal players!

Agree5 Disagree2

Yes we should be, benteke has shown the footballing world his dishonest and disloyal ways so do we really want this sort of player at our club? He could also turn out to be a very expensive one hit wonder or even do to us what he's doing to villa! Let's not forget that the kid wouldn't shut up about arsenal when he signed for villa!

Agree6 Disagree3

Dzeko is now 4th choice again at sh*tty.
Get in there levy!

Agree10 Disagree0

Dishonest and disloyal what are you on about. Benteke himself said he wanted his future sorted out before he reported back for preseason training, fact is spurs failed to register a single bid, so my take on the situation is that he's decided to end speculation so he can get on with preparing for the new season hardly disloyal in my view villa fan coming in peace

Agree3 Disagree0

Villa fan - he is clearly disloyal your can't dispute that. Forced his way out of previous club to join you then hands in a transfer request to leave/get a bigger contract. Would you be happy if all your players acted to get what they want?

Fair play to Benteke though as he did swallow his pride and do a u-turn. Hopefully he learns a lesson from it for your sake and that of a lesson for other players in the league.

Many thanks

Ronaldinho is apparently looking for a last chance to play in premier league any chance of a move to spurs Eds? {Ed002's Note - I would think zero.}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Can't believe someone can write

Agree2 Disagree3

Has the world gone mad. ronhaldinio. you sure. ?! Yidade

Agree2 Disagree2

Don't know what kinda wages he's on at the minute but with the skill and vision that guy has he could still do a job at the highest level

Agree5 Disagree3

That's just a stupid suggestion, now for a more serious thought.
Now that Papa Cisse is refusing to play at Newcastle wouldn't it be worth a cheeky £15 million offer, he's provide to be a quality striker

Agree6 Disagree5

Cheeky? 15 mill?

Agree7 Disagree0

Papa Cisse is garbage and certainly ain't a step up from Ade! We should push the boat out and get Saldado or I would be happy with a "cheeky" bid for Torres as totally believe he would get goals at Spurs!

We also need a decent centre half to play alongside Vert but this doesn't seem to be on the radar at the moment? madness!

Sooooo please Benteke has decided to sign a new deal at Villa, the money being touted was ridiculous so happy days on that front.

B's a yid

Hi Eds - Any news on Roberto Soldado are spurs still interested do you know. ? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool did previously show some interest in Soldado as did Napoli, Milan and PSG. However, Valencia wanted him to stay and he signed a new deal in last summer. Spurs are interested now but I suspect he will stay another season in Spain unless an attractive offer is made to the club and player.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

It would appear that other than D Villa the is little to no confirmation of any bids from us for any strikers that we are supposedly on the verge of signing be it Soldado or Benteke.

Yet, something must be in the works somewhere, please.

Agree5 Disagree1

See this morning that we've up'd the bid for Saldado.

Surely this is the type of player to take us forward. & push for the CL spots.

Sign him & Jackson Martinez, Sell Ade & keep Defoe. Job Done.

Man Utd have taken advantage of a stall in interest from Real Madrid. Madrid expected Bale to be for sale next season having pressured Spurs in that vein. United are now ready to launch a bid for 50m plus add ons. This is likely to inspire some sort of move from Madrid but cash from theri kitty is not ready and Bale could very well be a United player by August.
In a similar vein to the Benteke scenario, Spurs know that Bale will want to leave and they cannot stand too firmly in the way of his ambitions. As such Benteke will likely be a Spurs player in the next week - whether it is 20m plus add ons or 25m is unclear, however 20 - 30m will be available for a wing forward to replace Bale.

Believable11 Unbelievable20

Villa fan on the wind up obviously. No proof of this I'm guessing?

You will believe it when you see it. maybe. To assume Bale is staying just because things have been quiet recently is foolish. The calm before the storm, meetings plans and talks have been going on behind closed doors.

Agree8 Disagree14

So Spurs managed to keep Bale from Madbid in Spain only to loose him for far less to the new haggis man at Man Utd. What have Spurs been thinking. Daniel Levy must be mad or is this just more cr*p from a poor poor media story. If and he won't Bale were to go to Manchester the deal would be something like 100m + Rooney with 50% of Rooneys wage paid for two years. As this is all paper talk then we can all sleep well and not buy the silly paper that came up with this.

Have a little think about these things. Paulinho has been signed for 17m and a squad has been built with large wages intended to finish top 4 in the PL and pick up the nice CL money. Spurs have a long term strategy. This will centre around an expensive brand new spanking 50k plus stadium. very pricey (ask Arsenal I guess)

The money to buy a player like Benteke for over 18m on top of the 70k wages (15m contract over 5 years) on top of the Paulinho signing signals a windfall of cash. Perhaps 200m+ will be needed to build a stadium and yes it can be borrowed but profits need to be made to abate interest and the primary debt. Spurs have not got the CL money this season, and Bale will leave at some point so cashing in and signing players now is the prudent move to make.

Agree12 Disagree8

So you are saying last week we were prepared to reject a bid from Madrid of 80m, but this week we will accept a bid from united of 50m I smell rubbish

Agree7 Disagree7

Fast forward 2 weeks- 50 weeks. when Bale wants to leave and if Spurs ask money people won't pay, he does a Benteke and Spurs are told to accept 20m or keep an unhappy player, Karma?

If all clubs shunned the likes of Benteke, Suarez et al then they would not be able to dictate and dis honour lucrative contracts and force moves. Problem is clubs never do and leap on every carcass like vultures only to get screwed by agents, who, at the end of the day are pulling all the strings and laughing all the way to the bank.

Agree6 Disagree7

no Madrid bid was made for Bale it was all a sounding out process to lubricate the cogs.

Agree7 Disagree2

If levy was committed to getting champs league we would of signed damiao or higuain or moutinho 2 seasons ago! If. He had stopped being such a tight git we would of got champs league and these players would of paid for themselves! We wouldn't of lost modders would be attracting better players. Instead to save £20 mill he has cost us £60+ mill in terms of champs league money increased shirt sales etc. and that would be more money towards stadium, players, development etc. paulinho is a great signing but for how much longer is our lack of a superstar striker going to cost us? Benteke may be the easiest option because levy has pissed off most of the chairmen in. Europe by putting in stupid offers!

Agree6 Disagree4

Bloody hell, don't these villa fans ever sleep or has his wife left him? No way Bale will play for another PL team, as Levy knows the fans will lynch him!

Agree6 Disagree9

Madrid never made a bid as they haven't got the cash until they've sold several players. Even then I doubt it'd be £80m, it'll be closer to £50m.

Agree3 Disagree5

I don't doubt for one minute that bids for bale will be made. We didn't let modric go when he wanted to leave for chelsea and an apparent offer of £50 m was made so I highly doubt that this season we will let bale go. When has a club ever considered a players ambition over the clubs success?? nonsense. I think it would take a significant bid far exceeding £50m for it to even be considered. Pualinho apparently said that it was the fact bale was staying that prompted him to come to the lane so I doubt levy would rock that boat so soon.

Agree4 Disagree6

Bale is going nowhere this season and if he does move in a future season it will be abroad and the most likely destination will be Real Madrid, they have players we would be interested in and will pay what it takes to get him

Agree5 Disagree6

Why would you sell bale for 50m to the champions when perhaps with a new manager, they are more exposed than ever, along with the other top dogs.

And if we did sell bale for 50m, the price of everyone goes up ten fold because they know we are desperate to buy and they could flop, I just think it would be a disaster.

The owners aren't short of a penny, we don't need to sell, so until Bale is doing a benteke, I cannot see in any way it happening.

The media attention the club can get through him will be phenomenal.

Agree3 Disagree4

Spurs haven't bid for Benteke & their is no actual truth in that they are going to with the player now back in training with Villa & Levy exploring alternatives! Bale offers are totally Spurs' decision of what to do with & they aren't going to sell him because Spurs are a GOOD team which are building.

United are going to make a 60m pound bid. And trust me when Tottenham have that money on the table they will find it hard to not to accept. Reason being: if ale does not perform next season he could be worth half that amount or 20million less.

Agree6 Disagree5

United can make a bid. Levy won't sell this summer, especially to another team in the EPL. further I doubt Bale will go to United until things settle there. by which I mean Moyes is not SAF and Rooney appears to want out. The united of the last 20 years may not be the same for the ext 4 or 5, which s Bales window of opportunity.

Agree2 Disagree3

I'm guessing your 'Man Utd are going to make a bid' is based on the same logic as Chelsea offered 10m + Mata for Rooney?
Read the papers and check the internet by all means, but stop acting like whatever they say must be true

Agree2 Disagree2

Coming from Welsh Yod, I would love to see Bale stay but money does talk I would say come on Man Who, you give us 60 Mill + Rooney and we can start talking. 1 gives a massive kick in the mr bits to chelski, 2 gives us this striker who knows where the net is 3 we have mrs rooney to look at. lol

Agree1 Disagree3

When did all these villa fans switch from their huggy nappys and put on their big boy pants. finish in the top 10 and maybe we the almighty spurs fans might take our time to hear you out, until then go talk to qpr fans or something.

Agree3 Disagree6

I am not sure why everyone is being so dismissive of Villa, as a Spurs fan who appreciates a club trying to build from grass roots rather than buying success, we should be tipping our hats at what they are attempting. Yes they are a long way off where we are but they have some cracking young players who just need a few experienced heads around them to get to a decent place. There are enough teams to hate in the PL but I for one don't see Villa as one of those!

Agree11 Disagree1

Levy will never sell to united end of!

Agree0 Disagree1

After the carrick and berby tapping up levy will won't sell to to the rags look at the fryers signing that was the one finger salute to united

The problem that United have going into any high level negotiations this summer is that their power has already been undermined by Mourinho's public approach for Rooney - something I can't imagine him doing to the previous manager, as Moyes and the new man upstairs replacing Gill don't have the necessaries to deal with likes of Daniel Levy. There is also no good reason for Bale to go anywhere near United until they have proven they can prosper after the retirement of Fergie. My money is on a departure abroad as and when Bale himself shows the desire to leave the club, and no amount of media horseplay will change that. The player is already arguably the Premier League's no. 1 box office attraction in a Spurs shirt, so the only requirement for him is to add glory and medals to his guaranteed wealth and ability and he'll only go where and when he thinks that is best served.
