Horrible feeling Villa may be levy's big name signing to make up for the fact Bale will be going?

Would not mind if we got villa and bale stayed.

^^^^ Arsenal fan ^^^^.

Bale ain't going anywhere.

Officially no decision on Bale. Levy is trying to do all business before then so as not to have to pay over the odds because of the Bale money. The standard line to clubs enquiring is wait until later in the Summer because AVB has asked for five players including a left back, left winger (target recommended by Bruce Rioch), midfielder and two strikers. Others will go too including Adebayor and apparently someone who will be a shock and is leaving for personal reasons. Bale decision not 100% either way, but definitely not going early.

Bale could very much be sd, so stop wishing and be reasonable. If Spur receive any offer over £50m he is gone and even you s Perica know it.

Villa on the other hand is not even an option. He has not been scouted, and has never been on the acquisition list.

Why would anyone read your statement and believe it Thrush? You have been wrong so many times its become a joke! Well you always have been a joke on here haven't you?

I believe Levy has said he would listen to offers of £80m+ so sorry Thrush you've lost all credibility with me and most people on here I'm afraid! {Ed008's Note - Balie is a fantastic player but can you really see any team paying more then 35m-40m? Realistically?

If nobody isn't going to offer more than 35-40 million he simply won't be SOLD

If Man City and Chelski are going to inflate the market, along with PSG and various Russian clubs then why on earth should Bale be sold for £35-40m? Aguero was £30odd million wasn't he? Modric £33m, Andy Carroll £35m, Torres £50m! That makes Bale in the £50m+ bracket easily when you consider; pace, height, assists, goals, age and further potential. Let's not forget, he was always considered a hot prospect and in the past few seasons has played a key part in a second-tier team finishing 4th, 5th, 4th, 5th. He has played in the San Siro and Bernabeau in the Champions League, scored a hat-trick in that competition and carried Spurs this season after the exit of two world class players (and another retiring). He scores international goals for a minnow too and, seems a level headed lad as opposed to a stropping subsititute, violent boozer or mad home-pyrotechnic enthusiast.
Let's not forget, Spurs can't (and Levy wouldn't anyway) go out and replace him with another £50m player - they can't sell Bale and use the money to get world class players because their appeal and wage structure isn't there. Add that to the fact we don't have to sell him makes him far more valuable IF somebody really wants to try to prise him away.
In his current form and with all the accolades he's just scooped, if he was sold for anything less than £40-45m plus a player or £50m+ cash it would be ridiculous. I'm pretty sure Levy is shrewd as well as tight and/or greedy in a business sense so surely won't do it for less anyway.

Well said that man!

Simmo, the new chairman of Spurs, yes please!

Haha, thanks but I'd have been crazy enough to blow another £2-7m last summer on Michu, Berbs (preferably) or Benteke. It's why I've been such a misery guts this season because despite other challenges and weaknesses, I'm 95% sure we would've been 3rd or 4th with that extra goal scoring option. It wouldn't have broken the bank and was obvious to everybody we needed it.

Bale would cost 70m plus, its as simple as that.
