Ed, where is interest in Hulk coming from? Which teams I mean. {Ed001's Note - I didn't know anyone was interested in him to be honest. His wages are obscene, there are not many clubs that will even consider them.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

He is unbelievably overated, if his name was Fred or Bernard he would be lucky to get 5k a week.

Agree15 Disagree3

There was a rumour that spurs were going take him on a season long loan

Personally I think he's a player to stay well away of because of his wages and tbh, he's average, but a loan could work as long as zenitpay a substantional amount of his wages which is highly unlikely

Spurs to sign Benteke for £23m on a 5 year contract worth £85K a week. He'll get Number 9 Shirt.

The Rabbit

Believable10 Unbelievable17

Its £25m mate, not £23m or £24m - its £25m!

Agree7 Disagree14

23 mil, where did you get this from,
The London press again.

Like the guy above said its 25 mil mate.

villadave

Agree5 Disagree12

How bout 24. 5? Bet he goes for bout 18m! Villa not gona say no to 18m on deadline day, the guy doesn't want to be there! Nothing worst than trying to keep a player that doesn't want to be there! Can't blame him really.

Agree6 Disagree10

20 million spurs will pay and no more

Agree9 Disagree4

I believe its 18m with add ons taking it to 22m.

Agree8 Disagree10

Deluded again.

I hope you get him the way he conducts himself, not a loyal player at all.
Has his head turned too easily, if you get him and don`t win anything, he will leave you just the same.

But believe me it will be 25m, make no mistake.

villadave

Agree8 Disagree14

Oh I didn't realize this was where levy and lerner did their negotiations

you guys are hilarious

RY

Agree9 Disagree4

What is it with Villa fans? Do you ever visit your own page or just sit on our site waiting for someone to mention Benteke? You're starting to embarrass yourselves now!
KMB

Agree8 Disagree5

Can you villa fans just stick to your own page? Your nearly as bad as liverpool fans :L Benteke will leave and you will become a championship club. Simple as that.

The difference between Aston Villa and Spurs is that if Bale left spurs we would be attract big names that can fill in the gap bale left. If Benteke leaves Villa will be stuck with signing unheard of players that will either not make much of an impact or having one good season then leaving to a better team.

Your team is going to s***s deal with it on your own page - not ours.

Agree11 Disagree8

Cant blame benteke for wanting to leave Aston Villa. Would of have been relegated without him

Agree6 Disagree4

You can't say a team would be relegated without a player because in all honesty - you can't prove it right or wrong.
Can you please stick to your own page Villa fans, I know it hurts to lose your best players (yeah, we have e.g Modric) but you have to move on! I think Villa are building something great and will be a decent side next season but can you please stick to your own page? Thanks!

Agree8 Disagree4

I think the 18m price is fair for a sriker having had such a brilliant first year in the prem. The added 4m will be justified if his second year is as good.

Agree6 Disagree4

As a spurs fan I would have to disagree with the poster that said 'if bale leaves we will attract big names to cover him'. I have been a fan for 30+ years and cannot remember another player of bales caliber signing for the club with the exception of kinsman and he was over 30. In the last few windows we have been turned down by Aguero, moutinho, damiao, villa etc. bit of realism please! We are a big club but do not have the pull of the likes of real, Man Utd, barca or the money of chelski, s***teh, Monaco. But we are on the up! The league will be wide open this year and I urge levy to invest in the striker we have needed since berby left! I personally don't want benteke he's been trouble for his last two clubs and I think he would only see us as a stepping stone to a bigger club.

Agree10 Disagree4

Just so you spuds know, Benteke is an avid arsenal supporter.

Agree3 Disagree2

Well the gooners can have him. By the way, it means nothing.
Walcott is a Liverpool fan.
Bergkamp was a spurs fan.
They go where the deals are.

Madrid to sign Bale this time next season. Fee expected to be a fraction of the 80m Spurs demanded this year as Bale will lean on the club to let him leave.

Believable8 Unbelievable18

If you know so much tell us what fraction? Me thinks you are full of it my friend!
KMB

Agree11 Disagree3

See how you lot like it when clubs come pestering you with unwanted advances for the sainted Bale just like you've been doing for weeks to unsettle Benteke - and don't say you haven't.

Agree4 Disagree8

Total guess work.
You haven't got a clue have you?
Unless you are Daniel levy, you are guessing.
My guess is you are a jealous gooner or chav.
All these trawlers are obsessed with bale. Just because our player was plastered all over time square and the cover of fifa14, they just can't handle it.
Sad, very sad.
COYS.

Agree9 Disagree2

Haha, quality post. 3 big statements in that post and not a shed of evidence.
I smell a bit of envy

Agree7 Disagree4

Lol you must be so gutted.
I bet levy is rubbing his hands together, along with our new sponsor, after seeing bale wearing our new kit on the cover of fifa14, as well as time square.
He is proving to be one of the most marketable players in the world. It's just added another £10million to his fee.

Agree4 Disagree5

If spurs finish in top 4 next season he won't be leaving. 100%

Agree4 Disagree8

If he was going to "lean on the club" then he would have leaned this year mate, and that's a fact, he could have named his wages after the season he had. You are so far off, you are not even on the radar.

Agree3 Disagree3

Claiming to finish top 4 next year! What a surprise lol get realistic for once and when will you realise you are not a top 4 team! Even your best point tally can't do it lol

Agree5 Disagree7

Lol at all this bitter jealousy of Tottenham, the best run club in the Epl.

Agree5 Disagree4

Best run club? Sorry, as much as I hate to admit it the Gunners are the best run club and this is from a Chelsea fan.

Agree6 Disagree5

Best run club in the premiership? Brilliant just a shame they haven't won anything for how long? Deluded if you think bale will be there after this season

Agree1 Disagree4

Best run club? How? You spend more than arsenal and they are much more successful please explain!

Agree9 Disagree3

Why would Chelsea arsenal and Man U fans be jealous of spurs? There fans just bring you lot back down to earth!

Agree9 Disagree3

Are best point tally can't do it, but we have got champions league before you mug. That's such a stupid thing to say, just sounds to me like a worried arsenal fan because he knows its only a matter of time before he'll be in the Europa league

gooners linked to rooney higuain and suarez is a joke. They have actually only signed sonogo? lot of hot air from the emirates but no firm bids. Top players seem to be avoiding epl in favour of spain Germany france. We got 1 quality signing in the bag bale is staying and gooners are worried because they don't attract top stars no more. higuain will stay put rooney if he goes will go to the chavs and suarez to real Madrid. Gooners have lots of money but no longer the pulling power and will be out bid by both manx teams psg Monaco real Madrid Bayern and barca. Deal with it boys because next season you could be in a mid table battle with the scousers.

Ant

Agree3 Disagree7

Ant you are clueless mate! Arsenal can't attract top players? Cazola and podolski last year! Just shows what you know about football lol

Agree4 Disagree6

It's only mid July you do know the transfer window is open until September! Once again a spurs fan getting excited before the end lol

Agree3 Disagree4

Don't agree with Ant, but sorry, Podolski a top signing, you are in dreamland!

Agree3 Disagree3

Have you got any strikers better than Podolski? I don't think so.

Agree3 Disagree5

And I'm loving this gooner bigging up podolski as their best striker.
Lol, long may it continue.
Higuain, Rooney, Suarez. Haha
Who actually has signed?
Podolski your number 1 next season.
By the way, if our strike force is so crap, how come podolski league record was exactly the same as Defoe last season? What does that say about podolski? Now jog on!
Muppett!

Agree4 Disagree4

Podolski first year in prem and he scored as many as your top striker! Podolski doesn't even play up front he is on the left looks like you are the muppet mate ha ha

Agree3 Disagree5

Podolski is a lot better than Defoe and adebayor! first season and he scored as many as your best striker and he plays on the left you have just proven you are a muppet mate lol

Agree3 Disagree4

Why would he big up podolski as there best striker if grioud is there main striker and scored more whilst podolski plays on the left! He was stating they attract world class players! He also says cazola not once said best striker learn to read muppet lol

Agree3 Disagree3

Davo please explain why podolski is not a top signing?

Agree2 Disagree3

Slow, cumbersome, one footed, lazy, failed at two big clubs, sorry three, oh no sorry, Arsenal ain't a big club. Well you did ask.
And to add to the argument, you say he is not your striker, he plays on the left! Well Bale plays on the left and sorry, how many goals did he score, and how many awards did he win, last year?
Oh what's that I hear, silence! Just like match days at the Emirates!
Jog on gooner

Agree5 Disagree4

I love reading all of this tit for tat

Agree3 Disagree1

I can answer the question for Davo re Poldolski. Answer = because he is crap. Defoe is crap too. Luck was Arsenals key player last season and plenty of it.

Agree2 Disagree5

Crap players get over 100 caps for Germany lol

Agree1 Disagree1

Arsenal ain't a big club lol just proved what you know about football! How many years has bale been at spurs and he has had one good season! First year for podolski!

Agree1 Disagree2

Podolski is a top squad signing got him for the same price you paid for Dempsey lol! Squad means not one man team

Agree2 Disagree1

If podolski was that good he would be on his way to Manchester now.
That's how you define a decent arsenil player. If they are any good, they go to manchester.

Agree0 Disagree3

Haha, all these gooners bigging up podolski.
If this is the class of the player you have to big up, then I can't wait for next season. Get used to it, your prospects are exactly the same as ours 4th or 5th. The difference is, we might get close to a trophy on top of that. Arsene whinger concentrates so hard on 4th, you can't win a trophy. I heard higuain failed his medical at the emirates. It took place too near the trophy room and he has a dust allergy.
COYS.

Agree1 Disagree3

We sell to Manchester for £25mil they realise he is crap and then you buy him for £5 mill put him on top wages and can't get rid of adebayor lol who got the best deal?

Agree3 Disagree1

Manchester always do.
So with your comments, RVP is on his way to spurs for £5million, happy days.
At least he has some medals now though.

Agree0 Disagree3

Rvp to spurs, the sad thing is you probably believe its true that just shows how much in a dreamworld you are next you will be saying you will finish top 4 lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Almost as sad as higuain, Rooney or Suarez to the woolwich or maybe you believe that too.

Agree0 Disagree3

Only mid July when will you learn not to get excited until the end lol

Agree1 Disagree2

Podolski was in his first season in the EPL, played out wide and scored just as much/more than both of your strikers. He's got over 100 caps for Germany and cost the same as Dempsey. I'm sure if I had the option of Podolski or Defoe/Adebayor/Dempsey, I know which I'd choose.
In fact I'd probably choose that Sanogo lad as at least he can improve in the future. Defoe/Ade/Dempsey are all on the decline.
Chelsea fan

Well said mate

Any truth in reports that Bernard is possibly going to stay in Brazil? Also is it likely that spurs won't sign any strikers this summer? {Ed002's Note - Atletico Mineiro's Bernard rejected opportunities to join Zenit and a Qatar side last summer but there is a chance move on this summer. Inter went as far offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard last summer, but again that was refused. However, AC Milan, Dortmund, Benfica, Spurs, Arsenal, Spartak Moscow, Terek Grozny and Shakhtar Donetsk have recently approached Atletico Mineiro and whilst a 12M euro offer from Terek was rejected, it looks like a deal could be still be done and perhaps AC Milan will put together a package including a player as part of the deal. Dortmund spoke with Atletico Mineiro about the player but have seemingly dropped their interest deciding the asking price was too high following a rejected bid. Shakhtar Donetsk have also stepped back considering the price to be too high. Whilst he is certainly attracting interest from several sides and a very good offer could tempt them to sell, I suspect Atletico Mineiro and Bernard would also not have a problem holding off on any move for, say, another year. Chelsea, Manchester City and Roma have been keeping a close eye on his progress, but all seem reluctant to make any move, certainly at the asking price. He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in 2012, but that was pre-Rodgers and I am not aware of any solid interest from Liverpool at this time - and unless that changes, I doubt there is any chance of a move to Anfield. This leaves Porto who are another club who would look to a deal possibly based on part ownership or a significant part of his fee being paid in the future. Whether Spurs or Arsenal pursue their interest remains to be seen. So there are offers but there is nothing really happening right now.}

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Wonder if we are expecting/waiting on Bernard to make his decision before we pull the trigger on any of the other left sided players we have been linked to.

I had heard we stepped away after securing Paulinho, but I believe nothing until its officially announced.

Agree1 Disagree3

Benteke to sign this week for £23million on a five year deal where he will earn £85,000 a week and will wear the number 9 shirt.

Agree2 Disagree3

Great reply Ed :)

Agree2 Disagree2

I see - and are you a personal friend of the Chairman or do you sit on the board of Directors?
The fee is 25 million not 23.
We should charge your lot 30 million in retaliation for the way you shafted us over Jenas.

Agree1 Disagree3

15 Jul 2013 20:23:58
Benteke to maybe sign next week for 20 mil and on 70,000 a week depending on sale of ade

Jimmy Jones

Agree2 Disagree2

Your deluded mate, its 25, yes 25mil

villadave

Agree0 Disagree6

VillaDave be realistic and accept the fee may eventually reach 25m but that would only be the case subject to appearances, internationals, Cl qualification etc. there is no way you are getting £25m up front from anyone. That's not me belittling Villa, it's the way deals work. Plus the Levy factor where he won't pay a penny more than he should and Benteke wants to leave. My guess is a deal at £20m-£22m total cost over a 5 year contract with about £16m up front.

Agree2 Disagree1

If it gets any where near £25million then definitely no deal.
Thursday is a massive day. If he swerves training, then he is proper trouble. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Villa can keep him.
Let him rot. Watch his value shrink.
They will be swapping him for hesky by the end of his contract.

Agree1 Disagree1

Its great to look back on how much people claimed to be certain that benteke was coming to spurs and now he has signed a new contract

Hi Eds,

Is there any interest in Adem Ljajic of Fiorentina? With Jovetic looking likely to go, I'm not sure if Ljajic would be able to, but he's developing into a really good striker, good on the ball, holds it up well, fast, good finisher and would be a hell of a lot cheaper than Benteskey.

Thanks,

Dom {Ed002's Note - A move to Milan for Ljajic has failed to be completed. Torino and Atletico Madrid still want the player but I would suspect something could still happen with Milan.}
