No chance. He ain't coming to us when we aren't in the CL

Not all battles are worth fighting, don't see how we can match the asking price or the Russian mafias funds.

^^ This report! What a load of tosh.

Ed- do you know of any potential signings in the pipeline? {Ed008's Note - Gone quiet since Vertonghen signed, i'd say the club is focusing on the outs though with another 1-2 strikers needed,Adebayor as you all know fee agreed expect a announcement on that soon.

2 problems, wages and transfer fee

{Ed008's Note - Porto want something like 40-50m!

Offer 35m plus Dos Santos for him!

Definitely not worth the price tag! money could be spent much better elsewhere!

^^ i think Dos Santos will shine under AVB!
I hope we dont sell him and give a big chance in the first team.

I can't believe how rude some spurs fans are. It wad just a suggestion.

As much as we would like GDS to stay and prove to us that he can do for us what he does so regularly for Mexico, it won't happen, he will be sold.
He only has 12mths left on his contract. He will not sign another one. By the next window he'll be free to sign a per contract with anyone he likes and we not get a penny for him. Our chairman will not let this happen so he will be used as a make weight in bringing some one else in or he will be sold to he highest bidder.
It's a shame really. He has wasted his talent so far. If you add the Barca manager who was happy to sell him to us in the first place, add too the three managers hepayed under whilst on loan from Spurs and of course mix in Ramos and Redknapp, that is 6 managers who he has not performed for. They can't all be wrong.
Good luck to you Gio, but unfortunately your time as a Spurs player is soon to expire.

ED002 is it true that we are now looking elsewhere for Modric's replacement as Porto have priced us out of a move for Moutinho asking for over £30 mil? {Ed002's Note - I imagine that Spurs are keeping an open mind about a replacement. Porto will look to get very high prices for their players and so thoughts may turn to someone like Khedira perhaps.}
Believable1
Unbelievable3
I would hope that we don't get khedira really, he is a great player but to really similar in style to modric. It would mean that our midfield 3 (assuming that's what it is) would probably be siggurdson/vdv, parker/sando and khedira which I think would really lack creativity
Agree3
Disagree3
Khedira lacks the creativity of modric. We need that in the middle ofbthe park. Khedira is a definite no go for Spurs.
Agree8
Disagree2
I dont think we have been priced out as long as modric is sold for around 30 million
Agree4

Why is nobody considering Rafa the Van Man to play in Wantaways position? Has the vision and class to spread the play. When he gets tired bring on the Hud! {Ed008's Note - Apparently he might be leaving if a acceptable offer is made...
Agree1
Disagree5
Ed-AVB saying VDV is integral part of the team. Leaving, I think not! {Ed008's Note - I didn't say he was leaving that's what rumours are for and that's whats going around very good player!
Agree1
Disagree1
Khediera is a great DM but if we have Sandro and Scotty Parker, there really is no need for a 3rd player in that position unless AVB wants to play 2 DM's like Benitez use to.
On that point, I would relish Xabi Alonso replacing modric. he's not on big bucks at Madrid and with his age, we might be able to get him for around 15-20 mill rather than 30 for Moutinho or gamble on 20 for Ganso. At least we know Alonso can adjust to the Prem. what's everyone's thoughts on that?
Naz

Great footballer and wouldn't turn him down but maybe Thudd is the man for that kind of role and we have him already? You don't get trackling and pace from Alonso either so it'd be the same system playing either.
I think Alonso is pretty important to them still anyway.
Agree0
Disagree0
There is no way Alonso would come to us! Come on! He's extremely highly valued at Madrid, that much is obvious. There would be bigger clubs than us in for him were he to be made available. Seriously wonder whether people think before typing.
Agree2
Disagree1
That same thing was said to me when i said we should sign moutinho to replace modric. And now look,we are one of the front runners. All im saying is modric may be a perfect replacement for alonso for real not only spurs.

Has anyone else seen reports that will are trying to sign cesar from inter to be out new number 1? think this would be a better option then the goalie from lyon, but would much rather has a keeper with pl experience, like vorm or maybe even the kepper from norwich

According to reports in mexico it would ssem that avb is willing to give di santos the chance to become a major player at the lane. it is thought that he will be given the task of replacing modric when he leaves for madrid with his transfer money being used for 2 more strikers, a goalie and maybe a new left back
Believable8
Unbelievable6
The only reason they are saying that is because they saw him in the new kit official picture and assumed he would be playing a big part for AVB
Same as when modric wasn't seen, in a shortened version of the pic, Marca reported he was a RM player

Spurs have turned down a bid of £27.5million that included Ricardo Carvalho and Nuri Sahin, according to El Mundo Deportivo

Yeah its because they offered Carvahlo as well if they take him out we will accept
Agree10

I can't see that! Considering that levy wants both players and shin is very high on his list.
Agree0
Disagree3
Seems unlikely that levy would turn that down! it also seems unlikely they would offer that though especially as Sahin has said he would rather be a bench player at real than play for spurs (which is a bit harsh I think)
Agree2
Disagree2
Seems like the kind of offer we would accept subject to wage demands.

Why do we need another old Centre back , arent we clearing ours out ? I am all for giving AVB a chance , but please dont become another Arry and fill our team with ancient old boys !!
