eds I'm surprised no ones asked this yet but who do you think are the frontrunners for the job? I reckon they're AVB, Moyes and Martinez {Ed007's Note - I said AVB last night, I will stick with him.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Have to vote AVB over Moyes and Martinez.

Don't want to believe it but some reports in Spain are saying spurs have agreed to sell Bale for £40 million pounds? Eds, you know anything?

Believable1 Unbelievable9

Real Madrid is the rumour here in Cardiff

Apparently Villas-Boas has been seen landing in London, pictures here https://twitter.com/TotalTottenham/status/213318162467405824/photo/1

I'd definitely take a punt on him, maybe with a more experienced director of football as well.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Couldn't agree more. Got a call 30 mins ago saying it was done deal. Tried to get money on but gone from 8s to 2/1 managed to get 4/1 but seems almost done deal.

Yid d.

Agree1 Disagree3

Hard to tell what AVB was really like as everybody knows that Terry and his cronies run that Chelsea team

Agree2 Disagree2

AVB is not allowed to manage in the premier league for another 8 months was part of the agreement when he left Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree2

Suspect there is a buyout of that condition if true,or put Sherwod in as interim ..and let AVB be the DOF for 8 months. Many ways to skin a cat.

Agree1 Disagree1

There was no agreement inplace for not managing in England again, This happened with Mourinho, and was at the time subject to employment laws then.

Agree0 Disagree0

I not saying that the picture isnt genuine, but lets face facts.

1. How do we know that the photo was taken in London (just because the signs in the back ground are written in English?)

2. How do we know that the picture was taken recently? (hes not exactly holding up a copy of todays red top is he!)

3. Even if it is London and was taken yesterday, it doesnt mean hes in the country to take over at WHL. He is a free man so can travel where and when he likes - its not as if he has to save up for the fare.

BREAKING NEWS - Glen Hoddle is on a plane to the Ukanine today. 2 + 2 = hes obviously going to take over at Dymino Keiv !! Really ??

Flippit.

ps. Sorry for the sacasium. If AVB is appointed manager, this 6ft (nearly) 16 (and a bit) stone, fully grown ugly bloke is going to cry like a baby.

Agree1 Disagree1

Who do you think Flippit? I'd love to see Klinsmann come in. Perhaps not so tactically astute but he has experience, he's a true Spurs legend and a big name to attract players. Unfortunately last time the rumours came round he stated he was focussed on taking the US to the World Cup. Really not sure who could do a better job than 'Arry, definitely don't want to see Martinez or Moyes. AVB too much of a gamble.

Hi hk_yid.

It's nice to have a sensible discussion with an adult for a change instead of the childish drivel we get from you know who.

I must say that I agree with everything you have said above except our Jurgen. A great player and did well as the German manager, but we all know that it was Lowe pulling the strings behind the scenes. Recently I thought that Moyes would be the am to get the job (for the sensible reasons I have given many times over the last 72 hours). I must stress that whilst I can see the logic of it, he wasnt my first choice. Way back in Feb, when Harry was cleared in the courts, I suggested two names and was laughed at - the first was Alan Pardew. He played for us (all be it briefly) and look how well he has done at newcastle, not to mention the strikers he could bring with him. The second that I would be happy to see in he hotseat is even more controversial. He's a man with a record at club management second to none. He has won pretty much everything there is to win in (club) football and his record at international level wasnt to shabby when considered with a level head. He is also currently a free agent so no compensation will need to be paid. He would also be able to tempt some of the bigger names that we crave.

The trouble is though that he is not that we'll though of by many short sighted, fence sitting, non commital buffoons on here. He is also sort of responsible for our current situation. Yes, I am talking of none other than.......

....... Fabio Capello.

How would you feel about either of these two?

Flippit.

Ps, your post today at 18:19:02 on the banter site was another good post and very refreshing to read. I look forward to reading more of your posts. My lodger has asked does the hk stand for Hong Kong?

How about Gus Poyet? Old Spurs boy, doing well at Brighton

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Need a big name how can you finish 4th twice and 5th and get the sack s**t mate

Agree10 Disagree6

Gus Poyet has said on more than one occasion that he would only leave Brighton before his work was done at the Amex for two clubs... Spurs or Chelsea! It would be a very brave decision by Levy to appoint Poyet but one that could just pay off. Technically a very good coach and a brilliant man manager who has alot of charm and charisma. Young boss might just be what club need with Tarricco as his assistant. Know all about the Club??

Agree4 Disagree2

As normal spurs get something good going and then shoot themselves in the foot, u watch we will finsh mid table next year as before. Again we get so far and then take two steps back. I've been a spurs fan 37 years and seen it all before, this is why we will never be a top club. A real same not proud to be a spurs fan.

Agree6 Disagree3

Could someone pls tell me were is all our money gone, all the players we have sold over the last 24 months + the champions league money. I reckon all told its about 50. To 70 million

Agree3 Disagree1

Wages u whopper

Agree5 Disagree0

The money has either gone towards stadium/training ground, or, most likely imo, it's been held back to be a transfer kitty for the new manager

Agree0 Disagree2

Spurs financial records are available online. It you can't read a balance sheet or income statement, let me condense it for you as I have done here before to the numpties who expect Spurs to spend like Chelsea. We don't break even, we make a small loss - other than our CL year when we made a small but tidy profit eroded by bonuses etc. We need to sell to balance our books. There is no 70m.

Agree2 Disagree0

30m cash went into the new training facilities.

Jan Vertonghen has apparently admitted doubts in joining Spurs after HR's dismissal. This is just some info i have heard and do not know if it bears any weight but thought i would share it with my fellow yids.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Vertonghen apparently a Spurs fan and transfer bid was about joining spurs not harry

Agree9 Disagree3

Doubt it, whoever the new manager will be probably agreed this deal with Levy weeks ago ;-)

Saints fan here. A friend of mine has connections with the Spurs board. He told me a while ago that they had slapped a lot of money on Moyes to be the next Spurs manager as it was 'a done deal'. At the time it was expected that Redknapp would get the England job and perhaps this is a factor in letting Harry go. Letting Harry go is ludicrous and the only way is down from here for Spurs. Top 6 maybe, but bye bye Champions League hopes.

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Why would moyes leave everton, they will finish above spurs next season

Agree9 Disagree9

Everton fan scared of losing there manager! Your embarrassing yourself kid

Agree5 Disagree3

What are you talking about lad? you just LOST your manager, moyes won't join everton if baines and fellaini stay because hes got a class striker solid backline and if pienarr does go back to everton a solid midfield

Deschamps has been contacted.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Forget anyone else - you can get McCoist now!!!!

Agree4 Disagree7

PLEASE NO. This would be Ramos or Santini all over again!

Agree4 Disagree6

Why?? does Deschamps no of any good managers then

ou812

Agree5 Disagree1

Deschamps? Yeah, no record of achievement there.... not like Harry '1 Cup' Redcrapp.

He works for the club...not like hes some high flying spud but probably some cooler talk.

just wondering ed are u still expecting the vortongen deal to go through now we dont have a manager {Ed001's Note - yes, I would still expect it to go through, unless Spurs get gazumped.}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

And I was just wondering where is the all seeing oracle? Strangely quiet today. Didnt see this one coming did he?

about as much ITK as Goldie (my pet goldfish)

Agree2 Disagree5

The 1st step in Spur's future success has occurred: HR out. Most of us who wanted to keep HR believed he was responsible for our top 4 finishes. Yes, he happened to be the manager when it happened, but as I stated before, it was mainly through luck and individual brilliance not strategy or philosophy. Hence our inconsistency and dramatic fall in the past 2 seasons. and not challenging for the title. Now, if you lack ambition like HR (just wanting to be mediocre) bring back HR or one of the managers being cited on this site: Moyes, Benitez, AVB. If you want a manager that has an attacking philosophy/strategy, like I do, hopefully we will look atMartinez, Rodgers - too late now, Bielsa - maybe too late as well, Riikjard and others in the same mold. But, 1st and foremost, we need an ambitious manager who has a winning mentality, not one who is satisfied with top4 finishes or being the top club in London, but one who wants to win trophies. In case most of you don't realize, winning the league automatically puts us in the top4 and makes us the top club in London. For instance, do you hear the top managers (Fergie, Pep, Wenger, Mourinho, etc.) talking about top 4 or winnjing trophies, unless they had a bad season. Thus, it does not matter which players we sign unless we get a manager with an attacking philosophy who wants to win trophies. PS: do you ever think that it is because of HR that people like Modric wants to leave?

Agree5 Disagree6

Was looking foward 2 this season but if we dont get the right manager then we could be in trouble..modric will go anyway but we could also loose, bale vdv and sining adebayor and vertonghen could be out the window..we always get stick by the media but didntactually believe harry would be let go..crazy decision

Agree2 Disagree3

I think Goldie probably has more connections inside WHL than The Oracle (Thrush) ....

Agree1 Disagree1

How comes he was sacked, he still had year to run of his contract, beacuse levy dident offer him new one now, he threw his toys out the pram, called spurs bluff, and lost
