Hi guys heard a rumour about the possibility of signing two u20 internationals marc bartra of Spain and gueida fofana of France anyone got any info on these guys, also really hopefully we add 2-3 top players to the squad as avb has yet to put his stamp on the squad regarding players coming, really optimistic of a good season as long as we add a bit more quality COYS

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Fofana plays for Lyon and Spanish plays for barca

Agree1 Disagree0

Bartra is unlikely, he signed a new contract last year is a b team player now on the edge of the first team. Why would he want to leave Barca to move to Spurs with Dawson, Kaboul, Vertonghen and Gallas ahead of him and arguably even Caulker, there's no benefit to him and unless Barca sign a new CB he and his team mate Andreu Fontas will get a decent chance of some first team games this season

Yann M'Vila, Emanuel Adebayor and Lloris will be the 3 signings we make before window shuts. Forget Hulk, Damiao and Sturridge.

Believable14 Unbelievable16

Agree with that add another striker and you may be correct.
We will def sign 2 strikers of some kind, even if it is saha again (hope not tho)

Agree4 Disagree6

Add remy 2 that i think u cud be rite for sum reason i think remy be the one we will sign on deadline day or around that time, ade, loris i reckon will sign soon them mvila and remy be near the end of the window

Agree3 Disagree4

Oi C O E, you use the term 'LMFAO', and you got the cheek to call someone else a mug.
What does C O E mean anyway?
Is your first name Sebastian ? {Ed008's Note - Put your handbags away please...

Agree6 Disagree4

Cream for the laddies please.

Agree5 Disagree1

Mvila isnt going to Spurs. He wants CL football and waiting for Arsenal to bid last minute and get him on the cheap.

Agree6 Disagree5

He ain't going to arsenal either. He wants to win trophies.

Agree6 Disagree3

He has got more chance their than at shi*ty hart lane

Must of taken you ages to work that out all by yourself.
Well done.

Andre Villas-Boas is preparing to sensationally snub Jermain Defoe and put his faith in 19-year-old Harry Kane for the Premier League opener with Newcastle

Believable7 Unbelievable13

Why, does he want us to get thrashed?

This is b******* , AVB made positive comment
on kane and you have got over exited.

Yan M'Vila set to join within 48hrs. Fee around 12m. Adebayor will join before Newcastle.

RtheYID

Believable5 Unbelievable14

Should be going for Moussa Sissoko. Cheaper.

Agree5 Disagree5

Same old Tottenham truing to sign players that Arsenal were linked with {Ed008's Note - The thing is it looks like they will sign him ahead of Arsenal what a slap in the face that'll be to Wenger!

Agree6 Disagree7

^ Wenger said he dont want him, so yh, no slap in the face. {Ed008's Note - Wenger's wanted him for years, he's arguably a better midfielder than their current crop mind you anybody is :] he'll regret not signing him if thats's the case...

Agree6 Disagree2

Ed are you a mug? Everyone knows m'vila wanted to join Arsenal, he said it himself. We lost interest in him, not the other way round. r*****. {Ed008's Note - Yeah i am biggest mug out there :] how could you lose interest in a player like him when you've been chasing him since he arrived on the scene i smell a hint of jealousy spurs fans..

Agree5 Disagree3

Get a room, you two.But seriously,M'Vila would prefer to go to the mighty gooners.
Braintreegooner

Agree3 Disagree1

HAHA Gooners need 2 calm down and focus on their own clubs transfers?why do u come on this page for?...and Spurs will sign M'Vila and he will be great player for us...then come on hear and tell us u woudnt want him at your club....COYS

Its always nice to read about who think you might get in the transfer window, dream on boys,if the Mighty gooners show any interest in M'Vila,he'll be ours.

What just like Vertonghen?!?

Agree5 Disagree3

Ed 08 ...... You are awesome : ) keep up the good work
Bear yid

Agree1 Disagree2

Wenger definately wanted him and Arsenal were pushing however after what happened at the Euro's with France where he apparently had an attitude problem, Wengers interest waned. I'm a Liverpool fan so don't care about who is better out of Arsenal or Spurs. Just impartial, an excellent signing for Spurs if you get him however Wenger did decide against him and is moving for Wanyama of Celtic instead. This all comes from Ed002 btw lads.
Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Im an Arsenal fan. Take Yann M'Vila. He's not that good. If anybody has ever watched him pull a full match more than twice and not just you tube you'll know he isnt that good.
And to Ed 008 every other Ed has said if Wenger wanted him all he has to do is make a bid and he's got him because the player has already expressed his desire to join Arsenal.
A lot of people/pundits in France day M'Vila has went backwards and believed his own hype. Im going to go out on a limb and say I reckon Huddlestone will be better than M'Vila!

Agree1 Disagree0

Vertonghen is a spud anyway,so had to get him,and the talk of The mighty gooners being interested in him was pure speculation. If M'Vila makes a serious career mistake and signs for you lot before the 31st I will take my hat off to you all,BUT IT AINT GUNNER HAPPEN.
Braintreegooner

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed, face facts, of we really wanted him he'd be an Arsenal player. You think he was holding out to sign for Spuds? You're the most delusional fans in the PL! If he signs for you it's because a CL league club wasn't willing to pay the fee. We were clearly interested until he went crazy at the euros and punched a kid. If we want h, he'll sign for us. No reason why he'd go to a smaller club for any reason other than the bigger club not really being interested. Christ you're thick. And jealous? Hilarious. AVB in charge and signed the third bear Belgium defender and a player that wasn't wanted in Germany so was sent away to Swansea. {Ed008's Note - But he's not gonna be a Arsenal player unless you bid for him fact! Spurs have bidded for him fact! 1-0 Spurs, Vertonghen turned you down to join Spurs fact! 2-0 Spurs I know M'Vila has a preference to join Arsenal because of his admiration for Wenger realistically who wouldn't want to play under him ? Rennes want to sell him this summer, Wenger does want the player but if Song is sold watch Wenger go for him my opinion. Decent debate!

Agree2 Disagree0

Look at all the gooners squirm.
Ha ha ha quality.
Like little worms on the end of fishing lines.
Love your work Ed

Agree2 Disagree3

Ed 008, Arsenal are not after Mvila u person, Wenger PUBLICLY said hes not interested and why would he join Spurs anyway, probably the worst club to play for, on the way down! {Ed008's Note - Listen many times managers have stated they are not interested in a player then BANG! next day or the next week they've signed that player it's called mind games! Never he said he was joining Spurs it's well known they are interested and placed a bid that is all...

Agree3 Disagree0

Why does everyone say Vertonghen rejected us, what proof do you have that Arsenal put an offer in, its just BS.

Agree2 Disagree1

If M'Vila goes to white hart pain,it will be either a springboard to get to a bigger team or spurs will offer a higher salary,so then it won't be a football decision.
I stand by what I said before that if we want him,we will get him.

ed i have read that we have put in a bid for Yann M'villa do you know if this is true {Ed001's Note - I believe so yes.}

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Linked to yet another defensive midfielder... perhaps were really not getting strikers and parking the bus Chelsea style

Agree4 Disagree1

Ed - can you confirm it is us that has bid? Y
Thought it was ar5sne1?

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal dropped their interest due to the fact he has an attitude problem

Agree2 Disagree0

It seems we always just try to take bargin deals. He had some arguments with Laurent blanc and was then accused of punching a 17 year old so now his price has dropped we are in for him but I would be a bit concerned about disciplinary problems

No particular reason not to believe word starting to go round given our track record; Ade should sign (but not cert) by end if window so not in time for first games and still deoends on the City stalemate and who backs down first if either. After that there won't be anybody, if Modric goes it will prob be last minute to get best price and maybe a token cheap signing but otherwise it's same-old-same-old we've seen for several windows now. We will struggle to challenge top 4 through lack of goals and AVB will have to spout the same as he did at Chelski but Levy will make him a longer term scapegoat I reckon to gloss-over not spending/signing who we need.
Enjoy!

Believable5 Unbelievable7

What a miserable sod. why don't you just wait until the window shuts , while your waiting learn how to spell and put a sentence together.

LEVY OUT!! It's been going on for too damn long!! {Ed008's Note - Bit harsh!

Agree5 Disagree10

We are one of the best run clubs in the prem. We have gone from being a mid table team to now being one of only 2 clubs to break the top 4. and to be honest, most people will say we are a good team who play good football.

10 years ago I could'nt see us in the champions league, now I have been to the Lane to welcome teams like inter Milan who we even beat... convincingly.

So with this in mind, please do not besmerch Levy's name for him doing incredibly well.

Naz

Agree5 Disagree3

Levy out? You serious? Very under rated chairman, pulled off some bargain deals for top players and stands firm when players throw toys out of their pram, he also excellent with finances and correct me if im wrong, we are one the few clubs who dont have a debt? Big respect to DL!

Agree7 Disagree3

Dont have a debt! Spurs are apprx £60 illion in debt.

Agree1 Disagree3

I wrote this article for another site a few weeks ago. I hope it addresses the total stupidity of certain fickle fans.

'When Daniel Levy took over as Chairman of Spurs, we'd spent the previous five seasons in 10th -14th place, with a team during that period which included the likes of Armstrong, Ferdinand, Anderton, Rebrov, Doherty, Clemence, Davies, Korsten, Carr, Iversen, Sherwood, Leonhardson, Andy Booth, Sullivan, Thatcher, Gardner, Perry, Nilson, Taricco, Hans Segers, Luke Young, Tremezanni, Berti, Saib, Dominguez, Vega, Scales, Baardsen.

And as dedicated as some of these players were, anyone with an ounce of footballing knowledge could see that these guys were never going to secure our position as a top club.

Since 2001, Levy has taken Tottenham into a new era - not only has he achieved top five positions over five different seasons, he has thankfully also avoided the Portsmouth and Leeds financial models in the process.

In addition Levy has had the compounded pressure during his tenure of those artificial cash injections from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and now Manchester City. This financial bias is like trying to run an airline when your three major competitors are flying people first class around the world on economy fares and being prepared to lose hundreds of millions of pounds in the process.

Levy has given us players of the ilk of Van Der Vaart, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Vertonghen and Sandro. We have quality players in depth like never before, and we have the funds already sidelined to build a new stadium as well. We have finished 4th, 5th and 4th in the Premiership in the last three years, and Levy clearly felt that that wasn't good enough for his ambitions for the club. I loved what Harry Redknapp brought to the club from a motivational perspective, but I doubt many true Spurs fans weren't wondering what the bloody hell was going on in respect of some of the tactics he employed. In Levy and AVB we must now trust.

Next we come to the Luka Modric affair. Now Modric is clearly a top quality player, someone we signed for a very competitive price considering he was already a proven international star. A player who was nutured and commited enough to sign a long contract with the club. And, to be fair, a player who had shown some flashes of Barcelonesk flair and ability.

But the opportunity to play at the highest level, and the ability to double his wages, was clearly a temptation too far. Levy was stoic in rejecting Chelsea's advances, and selling him to the enemy would have only been counterproductive in any case. Levy's business acument and negotiation skills seem to point to a Modric move away from the Premiership, for a fee somewhere around £36m. I find it hard to understand how anyone could regard this as anything other than superb business for the club.

So let's stop for a moment and summarise Levy's tenure:

1. He has moved Spurs from a mid-table sleeping giant to a geniune top four contender.

2. He has invested wisely in players and built a squad of real quality and depth.

3. He has budgeted and planned a state of the art new stadium for the near future.

4. He has operated a profitable Plc unlike many of our main competitors.

5. He is loyal and ambitious and has the genuine interests of the club at heart.

I for one am absolutely delighted with him.

The Oracle

Agree6 Disagree2

Dear mr t. oracle,

thus far i have refrained from participating in bashing you like others have on this forum, but i feel compeled now to say that you are full of horse-s**t! you made quite a few fair points about levy and i actually agree that he's done more for our club than 99% of our previous chairmen put together. but if you were really in the know as you claim to be, you'd know that loyalty is not the aim of the game for mr levy and his boss mr lewis. these two are in this for money, they are hard-nosed businessmen who aren't necessarily out to make a quick buck but are using spurs as a vessel to make a whole mansion full of cash. their plan is simple so even you should be able to understand;
a) purchase a premier league club with a history of winning things but may not be the force of days gone by.
b) begin by investing in talented managers and players that could get us into a europa league spot consistently. the club becomes more attractive to prospective players and the club makes more money.
c) invest further in squad to compete for champions league and invest in training facilities and new stadium to increase weekly income in long term.
d) use all of the above to help sell the club at a massive profit upon completion of stadium, all of which ultimately goes into levy and lewis' pocket to go buy an island somewhere.
levy does love the club, but only because he knows that given the right amount of work and investment he can make himself and absolute mint.

ergo; loyalty in football is dead (save dave whelan = hero)

Agree0 Disagree4

I was really enjoying and agreeing with most points..

Then i get to the bottom and the sign off is "The Oracle"... which now makes me question the whole article! {Ed008's Note - Can't believe im saying this but The Oracle has a point...

Agree5 Disagree0

I read that full article from another site, as stated by oracle but wasn't wrote by the oracle.
Like most of his 'itk', his best friend
'mr copy and paste' had been applied here.

Agree0 Disagree1

A few very good points from the oracle, and the poster below makes a few more realistic ones about the fact that levy and lewis are top flight businessmen, with little or no loyalty. But if joe lewis wanted to buy an island, im sure he could do that without needing to sell spurs? Aint he like the 9th richest man in the UK?

i can see why levy is doing what he is doing and he is clearly a businessman that has learnt his trade in a specific way and he cannot change that now - if he appears a tight arse, it maybe because that is how he made his personal fortune to date? he aint gonna have got it by wasting his money is he? so for the good of the club long term, whether that is with levy and lewis in charge or some kuwaity conglomerate, i think we should praise Mr Levy for the way he has handled the financial aspects at The Lane during his tenure - the club has certainly moved forward in a way we all want to see, and as long as the club keeps moving in the correct direction and improving, without jeopardising the future security of the club, surely we can all be pleased?
Spurs will win the Premier League within the next 5 years i think....maybe with avb in charge ?

Agree2 Disagree0

Just to point out, I started this thread with a rumour I heard that isn't that wild given our recent transfer track-record, the but about Levy was more like my own conjecture that he won't stand up and take the flak if we're struggling and, how will we not struggle with no strikers? I agree Levy has done a sensible job and we have improved massively but, if Ade plus another doesn't come in then we do not have the correctly balanced squad at all and this is going to be a basic and fundamental failing.
PS - I also replied back to to Shorty laying it down, to mention he spelt you're with your and that my post was type-os not spelling mistakes, wasn't put up though.

Lloris will join 12m.
Hulk won't join.
Sturridge won't join.

Spending £12m on a keeper would be nuts given our striker situation. We didn't have enough cover with Ade and Saha as a stop-gap but without even that back-up = joke!

Adebayor expected to put his toys bk in his pram and sign somewhen next week, more likely towards end of week . Now olympics over spurs will also sign a goalkeeper and poss another striker/midfielder

I fear you may be correct which will be positive compared to where we are today but a negative when compared to where we thought we might be after Such a promising start.
I really thought we would make a stellar signing this year but the Modric situation has for the second year in a row impacted on us and I am not sure we will forgive him so quickly this year if he stays !!
I still trust Levy as he cannot be accountable for the players money first approach
Fourth would be a great achievement but I fear 5th as the Arse and Chelski cannot be as poor as they were last year

Oracle wannabe - your assertive stance on being correct is going to get you a lot of criticism on here. Do yourself a favor and stop posting or post more conscientiously. Some of us have the sense to know this is a rumor site and nothing is definite until confirmed. That being said, I hoe your right about Lloris signing and him being a success. Although, they are selling LLoris for transfer funds so if it doesnt happen soon it wont at all.
