Busy Summer ahead for Spurs. Harry Redknapp will stay. The Jan Vertonghen deal will be signed sealed and delivered after the Netherlands participation in the Euros for £10.8m. Leandro Damaio will sign for £18.7m once he and Brazil have taken part in the Olympics. Spurs will also sign Moussa Dembele from Fulahm for £10.6m and Demba Ba from Newcastle, activating his £7m release clause. Unfortunately Robert Green will also come in on a free. Expect a bid for Clint Dempsey to go in if Rafael van der Vaart leaves and expect Spurs to launch a bid for Ibrahim Afellay of Barcelona once Luka Modric moves to Manchester United for between £27m - £34m. Jermain Defoe to stay.
Lots of deadwood/surplus players to move on: Gomes, Corluka, Naughton, Bassong, Nelsen, Rose, Bentley, Jenas, Giovani, Pienaar, Kranjcar and Saha

Tell me, what does Hollands participation in the euros have to do with the vertonghen deal? Call me foolish but I thought he was Belgian. And I thought England just played Belgium. Because Belgium aren't in the euros.

ok so here is my prediction. i don't like it but think it's likely. far from in the know i assure you, but just vaguely what i believe from what i have read and a little extra. we'll sign vertonghen, adebayor on loan (yes, again!), king takes a coaching role, caulker promoted, corluka will come home, naughton re-loaned, nelson goes to america, krancjar to croatia, pienaar to everton. we'll try to sign ba and get rejected, michael owen or some one similar will come in at the last minute, giovani will stay... and that's about it!

Hi all Super Y*d has told me to come out and put my defence for arrt out to all of you..
Look im as pissed off as the next man 2 up at arsenal let it slip etc etc. Also yes he was offered a contract some 3 months ago to keep him and after watching sky sports news last night how he came out YES once again to the press and aired his views. This gut is a press freak i know maybe cos i dnt think he actually speaks to Levy. If he got the england job he was going to walk away from us i know that 2.BUTTTTTT He hasent done a bad job has he? he has done what no other manager has CL FOOTBALL. We have 2 massive egos at our club Arry & Levy...I just dont think we can get the right man for the job going by Levy last managers he has brought in.Look at other club LPool crying for Rafa to go now look at them.Im just seriously worried that the next 1 wont do the mustard.Martinez, AVB, Capelllo is linked come on plz....Jose thats different. MAYBE they can put there egos to 1 side and give him the extra 3 yrs he wants subject to us getting in the CL next yr.(thought) maybe we will keep the players.None of us really know what goes on at the lane behind close doors. Yes Mr Levy didnt want to splash the cash coz he did not know what was happening with harry BUT come on hes the chairman for god sake (harry are you staying yes or no simple question to ask him Mr Levy) then do somthing straight away. Levy is not snow white in all this he keeps quiet (fair play to harry if he didnt come out and speak to the press we would not have a clue.. OK guy start slaughtering me now as f i was a gooner lol. One thing you will all agree on what ever happens with harry & levy we will all be behind the team 100% next season
Mr G

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I completely agree, there isn't a manager out there the moment who could take us further, I feel there would players wanting to leave if he goes! The fa are to blame or this

Agree0 Disagree1

Mate thanks for agreeing but sorry the fa are not to blame. By the sounds of it they didnt even consider arry. The blame is levy he runs the club. Y didn't he ask the fa do u lot want arry as the media was speculating it is turning our managers head, come on we all noticed it and he would have got his answer early. No Mr greedy was waiting for payout by the fa.

Agree1 Disagree0

Take us further two nil up against the gooners lose 5 2 as for the semi, we wont even go their. ask many a yid, harry has taken us as far as he can. if martin had been in charge without commelli over his head where would we be now. no dont want martin back, but in all the world is their not a manager who knew we needed three points against villa and put parker on with couple mins to go. yep all managers have a dip in form, but after xmas the past two seasons, our season has been over. pls harry go

Agree2 Disagree0

This is the 1st time we've been in this position in how many years! It takes along time to develop a structured club without spending massive amounts of money. Who is a better manager than HR in the prem at the moment or outside the prem who we can afford! I didn't mean the FA were completley to blame but there statement said they didn't want to approach Hodgson because it may affect WB season. surely they could see it was affecting our season more

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr G, total respect to you. We may not agree but you had the b*lls to state your case with a bit of passion. I have the utmost regard for that.
Fair play to you Sir!
Regards
Super Y*d

...... So you all actually believe for one second .... That they wanted RH over HR ??? Get real they knew they wanted HR
And then realised they could get away with a "top English manager" who by the way is taking Liverpool to the euros which is a frakking joke .... Johnson and kelly instead of Richards ?? Wtf ? Obviously I'd prefer walker to go but he's injured .... But Richards is better than those two I digress
The reason they went for him was money issues .... That's it not because that's who they thought was the better option ....
I agree full heartedly it was off putting for players and the manager was swayed by what was happening .....
But ..... As much as I want change because of what's happened this season and the feeling of being let down ..... Deep down I don't want HR to go..... Do you all really ? Deep down ? Admit it ............

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry looked like he was planning to start packing when he gets home tonight. Very quiet and still gutted that he was NOT approached for the England job. They did not want him. Do you ?

I have just read all the postings about Tottenham’s transfer spending relative to other clubs. As far as I can judge, the real numbers are quite different to what has been suggested. My data comes from ‘transferleague.co.uk’ (their numbers accord very closely with what I have seen reported elsewhere and seem as accurate as any).

In the past 5 years, Tottenham’s gross spend has been £189m (not £400m). It compares with Man City’s £535m, Chelsea’s £270m, Liverpool’s £281m, United’s £198m, Villa’s £153m and Arsenal’s £124m. Tottenham has been the 5th biggest spender, not the 2nd biggest.

Net spend tells a similar story: City £439m; Chelsea £148m; Liverpool £68m; United £53m; Villa £54m; and Spurs £52m. Arsenal had a negative net spend of about £20m. Tottenham has been the 6th biggest net spender.

In the past five years, the two ‘money no object’ clubs have been keeping the transfer market going virtually on their own. The net spend of other top clubs has been around £10m to £12m a year. However, this doesn’t mean they have been building up big war chests. It just means that all clubs are concerned about their debts and the possible effects of recession, so are being very cautious about what they spend. Levy has not been ‘tight’ he has simply echoed the prudence of other top clubs.

With a net debt of £57m Tottenham is not in a position to splash out tens of millions of pounds on players unless they offer real value for money. The good news is that we might not have to.

At the end of January, Tottenham nominated its squad for the second half of the season. The 25 notified players cost just £93.8m (not including the injured Bentley).

With other top clubs also struggling financially, it seems that good management and good decision-making might be enough to keep Spurs in the running for Champions League qualification for several more years.

PLEASE Mr Levy ...do it now...today...put us out of pour misery. Get Rid of HR right away after what he has said. He had his chance of the big deal but he blew it. We threw away the CL spot and he was totally clueless how to stop it for the 2nd Season running. Please don't let this drag on and let HR humiliate our club.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

So we have spent £412m i never mentioned what we sold etc etc thats still 412m to win the league or get regular cl football

A lot of rumours on here as can be expected but until Harry's future is sorted I can't see many major things happen. A goo few players will want Harry to stay and if he goes you could see modric, van der vaart, bale all leave. If a replacement is in place then they could be enticed to stay. Especially if it's AVB. He would also bring with him the quality to attract better player than redknapp could. We should be done with signing the older stop gap players like nelson&Saha and focus on younger players.

Affelay's name has been branded about here a lot and I was just saying the other week if barc want bale we should be looking for money and affelay! De Jong from Ajax is another mentioned on here and he'd be a great signing. I'd like to see a young keeper to learn under Friedel, damiao, ade, affelay, vertonghen. Show this league that we are here to compete!

Sort Harry's future soon!

Sorry.... For heavens sake what is all this nonsense about. What odds does it make to the players if Redknapps there for one year, three years or no years ? Is that the latest excuse is it. We might not want to stay or even try if the managers only on a one year deal ? PLEASE.

You got it dead right Harry "If DL does nt think I'm worth it it's up to him" Yeah weel it is up to him and your not mate. More money...bigger bonus...what planet are you on....We threw away CL qualification Ok and the buck stops with you that's what being the manager means. Like when we were all singing T O O H R ! great yeah but when it started going pear you did nt have a clue what to do....No Lennon..no idea. You should be mightly grateful that THFC and its supporters stood by you when the chips were down...you could have had your new contract but NO you wanted the fun job of managing one of the worst unmotivated, overpayed, under achieving footballing nations on the planet. So you showed your loyalty, now the boots on the other foot. That's life mate

06 Jun 2012 12:27:17
I don't suppose Harry bothers going on the internet, possibly a daunting thought for a man who can barely sign a cheque and has to get someone to write the team sheet...aledgedly

However as a Tottenham fan of many many years....Thanks for all you have done but please GO. How you can have the front to demand a new contract when it is plain as day you would have taken the England job....and lets face it whilst Terry and Co are all sick as pigs you did nt get the call, in all honesty Harry it was never going to be was it.

I wish you well and a long and happy retirement but PLEASE Mr Levy, you run this club, please do what is required like NOW so that we can get someone else on board who wants the Job Oh and whilst your at it Let sulky socks clear off to ManU or wherever but please make them pay til it hurts.

I'm all for redknapp going out if that's what happens. My only reservation, is that it ruins any stability we might have built up. Also, big players seem to enjoy playing for him. Without CL, the 'harry factor' might be the only reason for bale and modders to want to stay. I'm not saying this is the case, I could be completely wrong, but it's something to consider before we all begin a witch hunt

Believable1 Unbelievable0

It's not a "Witch Hunt" mate its a simple case of someone who thinks he is bigger than THFC and he is not. Demanding more money and a bigger bonus.....Cmon your having a laugh. On yer bike HR.
